ASUS Zenfone 5 CM 12.1 Fixes - General Topics

Maximum of the bugs are fixed in the V4 build of this ROM. But do not use the auto installer. It will only work for A500CG not for a501cg. Use adb to flash the ROM.
Theme Will work by flashing fixsdcardboot.img.
And need to unlock Boot loader first to flash images.
And you need to root it manually with zenfone root kit.
I have solutions for battery problems even.
I Don't know whether posting links out of XDA is allowed or not even whether am allowed to solve this problem where I found many haggling with it. But unfortunately am unable to reply in there. If XDA developers allow me, am happy to help. I am running it successfully.

Hey I don't know how to install Cm 12.1 to my Zenfone 5 running lollipop 5.0 rooted by doing the manual zenfone root kit. But since I'm newbie, I don't know how to Flash? Because I never try to flash that's why I'm scared to lose my phone. But I want to upgrade it into Cm 12.1

Nexus 5 Help ASAP!! PLEASE
Let start by saying am pretty good at putting ROMs and all that other great stuff we can do on android but this time I just wanted to ask before I do anymore... So I saw that lollipop was released but I was running a custom rom and everything was working fine.... But I went nd download yashade2001 lollipop rom for nexus 5 which is based off AOSP and I also found what I though was the gappa for 5.0 and it is but when I rebooted into my recovery made a backup then did a a full wape then flashed the ROM and then to the gapps but it threw some error in red and didn't flash and I didn't Know what to do so I reboot the rom.. And it booted up fine took about 4 to 5 mins but no gapps so I tryed to back in to recovery but my custom recovery got removed and now the stock one now how do I get back my old recovery ? If anything I would like to go back to the backup i made right before this happend....any help would be great.. I would try and find a fix but I just don't have time at the moment to sit around and go throw all the XDA fourms to find my answer as much as I love too....so is there anyone that can maybe help me out...thanks
Any luck for the ONEPLUS ONE?

Is there certain gapps I need to be using to have the option for trusted face, fave unlock. I enabled a pin lock and the only option I get under smart lock is trusted devices.

Thanks A lot mate!
But I wont to build it for Nexus 5, and if I download the AOSP branch r1 says it is for player and r2 is for Nexus 9, so as far as I can see I need the Vendor tree and Device tree?

Installing Cynogenmod from 5.1

Hi.
Ever since I received the OTA update for 5.1, I've been experiencing big wakelocks (bam_dmux_wakelock) that are affecting the battery life of my device. After days of googling I've been unable to find the culprit, let alone a solution for this problem. So I'm contemplating installing a stable custom ROM . I've always wanted to try Cynogenmod but I was unsure how to do it and lacked the motivation. I have it now, but I have a simple question that hopefully someone can answer here:
Do I need to be in a specific version of stock Android in order to install a given version of CM? For example, do I need to be in 5.0 in order to install CM12 or can I do it from 5.1? None of the guides I've seen mention this requisite, but I want to be sure.
Thanks in advance

You need the 5.0.X bootloader for CM12. For CM12.1 it depends on the particular ROM you are flashing. Once official CM12.1 comes out I am sure you will need the 5.1 bootloader.
For cm12.1 CAF I flashed the 5.1 radio and boot loader then proceeded to flash BaNkS 12.1CAF with his gapps followed by SuperSU 2.46

[Completed] Sprint Galaxy S4 - Lost Usage of Stock and 3rd Party Equalizers

Hello, new member to the forum here. I've just been through an ordeal trying to get Viper4Android working on my Sprint Galaxy S4 SPH-L720 running stock Lollipop 5.0.1. I've finally given up on V4A (enforcing kernel). Anyway, my problem is that somewhere during the course of trying to get V4A to work, I lost usage of the stock music player and equalizer. I'm getting a quick pop message that states the equalizer is "occupied" when trying to run the stock music player (it just crashes after this message). V4A has been uninstalled. The phone is still rooted with Busybox and SELinux installed. I don't really need the stock music player, however, Spotify now will not run any type of equalizer (one is not even listed in settings).
Any help would be appreciated. I've tried searching XDA as well as the internet to no avail.
Hi, thank you for issued XDA Assist. I see you already know where your device's specific forum is so I won't link you to it. It's difficult to tell what you might have changed while trying to install viber4android so the best I can suggest is to flash the stock firmware or a custom Rom and start over again.

Hey thanks. I've searched through everything on this site. Anyway, I'm strongly thinking about CM. Little confused about which version to choose. CM 11 is the latest "stable/snapshot" build for the S4. However, I was advised that there is very little to no risk running a CM 12.1 nightly build on it. So, should I just go to the CM 12.1 download page for my model phone and download the latest one? Or would it be safer to go back to a snapshot CM 11 build? Everyone seems to love 12.

Give cm12 a shot. I've rarely had problems with nightlies.

[Completed] After root & flashing tab 2 is not not working properly (Android 5.1 Lollipop CM12.1)

After root & flashing tab 2 is not not working properly (Android 5.1 Lollipop CM12.1)
I never flashed and rooted and android before so today I tried on my tab 2 gt-p3100 and results are not good. After flashing the custom rom my internet is not working properly. Specially 3g is not working and 2g is now slow also restricting me to use some websites and play store too. I never expected such results from It. Please advise me what should I do now. Can I go back to the official Samsung's status how it was when I purchased (unrooted and 4.1.1.) .
Also if 5.1 is not compatible to my device, than what should be the best custom rom for it?
I installed Android 5.1 Lollipop CM12.1 custom ROM
