Overall rating 3 stars
My main issue is the charging port cutout, it is oval-shaped unlike most other cases. With it being oval I cannot use the standard Samsung charging cable which is a big issue in my eye.
Packaging: 5 stars
Great simple eye catching package.
Quality: 5 stars
Quality is nice doesn't feel cheap like some other cases I've had. You can tell they took time to make this a very detailed bumper.
Button responsiveness: 5 stars
Love the buttons, I regularly use a Iron shield bumper and I like the buttons on the Melko better.
Feel: 5 stars
Great feel
Fitment: 4 stars
In the pictures you will notice the boarder or the phone in places, seems like it could of slightly been made to cover the edges more.
Cutouts: 3 stars
As I said above the charging port is cut improper to be able to use the standard charging cable let alone any aftermarket cable that is slightly bigger. The headphone jack is perfect, as for the cutouts for the ir blaster, antenna etc they are about a 4 out of a 5. They are just slightly off from perfect, not where it would effect anything, but not perfect.
*Also just a side note yes this case alters your signal slightly as do all metal cases/bumpers

Don't want to be rude but your math is wrong, overall rating should be 4.5 according to your ratings for each point.
Now the serious questions:
Does it affect any wireless signal? GPS/WiFi/BT/LTE ? You answered that
How is the inside of the bumper? Does it have any paddings?
Does it help in any way to protect the camera lens from being scratched?
Thanks

Yeah didn't really ad them up lol but as for the other two questions, it has some thin padding on the inside. As for camera protection not really. It doesn't have enough of a lip on it, the actual lip is very minimal. Probably only the thickness of a tempered screen protector.

Bought on eBay for $6.00 from someone in Brooklyn. Very simplistic. Adds a nice grip feel. Doesn't provide any impact protection from drops over two feet. I'm pretty sure about that statement. When otter box releases a commuter or defender I'll be switching. Overall for general wear and tear protection, the best $6 spent for this phone.

Suffered a nice fall today. Was walking looking at an email. Shoulder checked a massive column in a mall. Silver Bezel on bottom took a nice ding. Rest of phone is fine, no cracks to front or back. Ordered a diztronic case. If it wasn't for the exposed top and bottom of the case it would have been fine. It did however protect the two most important parts of the phone. So it gets an A- in its short time of use. Lesson learned, pay attention when walking.

I'm still waiting for Nillkin to release a TPU case! Surely these hard cases do nothing to dampen the impact?

Yes, especially when it hits marble. Its not bad but disheartening considering its less than 48 hours old. Fortunately, rooted 4.2.2 with the new boot loader and radio put a huge smile on my face and the diztronic will cover it up anyway. I'm fortunate that nothing broke, and its still just a phone.

Do you find the case slick/slippery to the touch/hold? I have one, but felt the plastic was too slick even with the pebbled surface and decided to switch to a ballistic. I do like it and if the phone wasn't covered in glass, I might have stuck with it.
Yeah it was a little slippery. that's how I ended up losing grip.

Hi. Im opening this thread to discuss the premium cases for galaxy S4.
I ALREADY own the note 2 version orded from offerany.com and can reply to any question about it.
A few ones :
- yes you lose nfc
- th note 2 one is slippery but mainly because it is a really big phone. Shoulndt be an issue with the smaller s4.
- yes you must remove the qamsung back cover and the aluminium one replaces it. Keeping thz phone thin and caseless looking.
- I have it in black. 3 months of use. Barely scratched. Few dents on the silver chamfered edges. Barely visible because the edge is silver just like dented aluminium.
- cant comment on signal but you lose around one bar of signal in both cellular data or 4g.

I would also like to know the answer to this. Can you test and see signal strength with / without case? IIRC transformer prime had an issue with wifi/gps connectivity because of the aluminum back. Thats a tablet, though, so who knows might be different on phone
I also find the other metal bumper for samsung galaxy s4 i9500. it doesnt kill signal. good to use.

Aluminium that we see on premium phones is totally another story. Aluminium is week but it goes through some hardening processes.
But this cheap case most likely hasent been through that and im sure that after a week has more scratches than the plastic back.

I have this case for the S3, it holds up pretty well.. dropped a few times, when i was out with my buddies at the club the dents were minimal and paint holds up pretty well. Scratches well, theres only one on it after a few months of use and clubbing with it.
Does it have any logos on the back?
very expensive
My bet is that this will kill your signal strength.
Full body aluminium is not a good case for s4! Lose 50.\' signal. I have 2 bumper, case aluminium already..
Inviato dal mio GT-I9505 con Tapatalk 2
these are also available, and the back cover is not all aluminum.

So I decided that I got tired of Samsung's infamous glossy polycarbonate fingerprint-magnet casing and decided to do something about it. I think you'll find the results below are quite stunning if I do say so myself.

Neither, if you click the main link you'll notice this is actually a vinyl wrap that applies onto the device, effectively adding almost not thickness.
A vinyl wrap? I feel like that will eventually peel or catch on the edges with long term use... in and out of the pocket and eventually start peeling

Depends how you use it. The glue on it is really thick and tough so it does not peel easy. Also they recommend to use a heat gun once you're 100% sure you want to set it the way it is so the glue melts and bonds to the plastic (doesn't actually bond but sure feels like it afterwards).
I bought this instead, well see how it is

Wassup guys just a little review. Got my 1st case in today. Wish i had the phone to go inside it. 2 part case.
1st impressions....very nice case. Great feel to it. Light and comfortable. May be a little slippery but not too bad. Sides do offer some grip tho with rubberish material. Great finish on it with the coral blue. Kick stand feels decent stays in place when open and snaps back closed when needed. Button press seems like it will be fine but cant tell until phine arrives. Over all protection id rate 6 out of 10.
1 of the things i noticed first was how thin the case was. This is not a bad thing. Im comming from a note 4 with a verus thor case and can fit the new case almost inside the verus thor note 4 case. This is good relating to actual phone size. My note 4 was slightly too large to properly hold it in my hand. This seems like it will be nearly perfect for me.
2 things im worried about.....when the phone is in the case and face down im hoping it leaves a gap between the surface and screen. I believe it does but again i need my phone to tell.
2 inner part of kickstand. Im worried about it somehow scratching the back glass of the phone. Anyone know where to get a rear body plastic protector?
Check out some pics. Hope this helps.
Nice. I was checking those out. I bought 5 Thors for my N4 at $3 each. Waiting for that sale again from Verus. Bring on the N7!
Buy a premium metal glass phone and put it into a plastic rubber case breaks my heart. Waiting for the drop tests if it's durable I will add skin on the back to only remove those finger prints and make the phone less slippery. Maybe some mental frame would be cool too, but then phone becomes more bullky.
I got the VRS TPU case. Looks pretty awesome so far!

I recently bought a matte finish skin from Slick wraps hoping that it would provide some more grip. I was a bit disappointed when I realized that it was just as slippery ad the original aluminium finish.
Can anyone recommend a back skin/decal for this phone that provides some more grip? It's a plus if it also has a decent look. Dont bother recommending cases/bumpers as I dont want my phone to look and feel clunky
Look on Slick Wraps,...there is new skin that has some decent texture for grip.

Just got my black alcantara skin installed and it definitely has the most grip if all other skins (dbrand or slickwraps). It's rather thick though, you can feel the edge more than any other skin for sure. The back does feel pretty good though, will see how it does after some time.

let me be honest with you , firstly i myself love skins on my tech related stuff.
but for the 6p ,sadly a skin will not add sufficient amount of grip, mainly due to how thin the phone is on the bezels, i do not know how to explain it, but when i have my 6p in a case i feel like i am much less prone to dropping it.
or it slipping , it is a slippery phone.
imo. the 6p feels alot better in a case, i don't like it naked (or even with the matte skin i have applied).
i currently have the Ringke fusion case on it , and it adds a great amount of grip to it.
and i am awaiting my supcase.
you'll want a case!

A little late but here's a couple. I've really been liking it the last few days. Edges have smoothed out a lot and you don't notice the "thickness" of it after some use. Really reminds me of my oneplus one with the sandstone (obviously much softer though).

I had the same problem with cases being too thick and skins not offering enough grip. I think I found the solution and I've been using it for about 6 months now. It's not pretty but I've been using translucent floor grip tape - the kind you put on stairs. Do a search on Amazon for '3M Safety-Walk'. I didn't need the full roll so look for vendors that sell you a few feet of the tape.
I use the 'clear' version which allows the original color of the phone to come through. I don't need to cover the entire phone; just areas where my hands touch and need grip. I also cut out thin strips for the sides. The pro is that it's cheap and thin enough that it won't add much thickness as long as you don't cover the entire phone. The con is that the thin side strips need to be replaced every 6 months or so because I'm constantly gripping that area more.
I've attached a picture. Ignore the circular metal; that's my sim card slot opener. I'm sure you can make it look nicer than what I did.
