Just got the notice for the update. How can I make it into a zip?
yes it got away the SPARK star
Ahahah yeahhhhh goodbyeee spark star! And ahhhhh that makes sense why the battery life us better and cpu a bit faster, from the Qualcomm patches.
anyone with the update.zip file?
edit.
I use the Korean version of G Flex 2(F510L) and today I get the OTA too, the version is v15i(previous firmware version was v15d).
The major difference I found while using the phone was that the frequency of the big core is not always remaining at lowest clock, which is 384mhz. Rather it fluctuates between 384mhz and 1.8Ghz. And this makes the performance of the phone much better.
Can someone upload a update.zip for the ZV7, please?
Or can I directly update from ZV5 to ZV9?
Thank you!

My friends phone just got another OTA last night. I checked and it's the same version of 4.1.1 that came out earlier according to the phone, but Google Now is running much better and I'm guessing there are other tweaks.
Did anyone else get an OTA push?
My phone is rooted which is why I am asking here.
I am hoping there will be a stock ROM based off the newest update if that is the case.
Any information appreciated!

is it K3?
Yes. Looks exactly the same as the OTA and last leak. K3.
I'm just saying the phone was already updated OTA to K3 when the rest of Verizon was a few weeks ago.
This was something else.

While that's strange if the build number didn't change its the same we already have. Even the smallest changes they'll change the name, but for proof look at the time stamp of the build

Ok ill check again tomorrow. I will post back here.
I did admit I looked quick just enough to see the K3 at the end. I didn't match up the complete build and Kernel specs. Strage that the phone got an update.
Maybe it was the pushed update to fix the "sudden death" issues?

Oops didn't mean to hit thanks, oh well. Even if it were it would still have a different build. In also sure the last part would have changed. Since every build had so far.

Just an update, the software update greatly improves performance. The phone is now very snappy. Noticed that RAM usage decreased as well (I usually get around 200+ MB Free, now I get 600+MB).
Don't know about thermal throttling issues though, will have to test further.
Phone remains on Android 5.0.1 (software version V10c-SEA-XX)
Has the update fixed any of the performance issues? People have reported?
I've not received it yet but looking forward to it...
Hopefully it will be the fix we've been waiting for and the people who returned their phone and exchanged them for some something else will regret being so impatient..
Fingers crossed
Where do u live?
Please continue to report about the update
I'm in the uk ... With no update just yet.
Just got 10c a minute ago and it's a mixed bag. Phone is much hotter now but faster. But there is still lag for Facebook external share, 3x longer than g3

Gotcha, O2 ahead of Vodafone then
Ha! Interesting. This morning the phone notified me of an update (Sprint US), so I promptly tried. The phone rebooted, was installing for a while, then I got the picture of an Android in a coma with the triangle stuck in his belly. What now I said. You can't pull the battery and I didn't find any reset holes. Power+volume down. The phone booted and is working fine but no update installed and get this... no update available. WT actual F?
Edit: Found the thread for people with the same problem.
Looks the the sprint version of g flex 2 will have the 5.1 zv6 update rolling out 6-8. Hoping it fixes some lag and thermal issues.

Super n00bster here. I rooted my phone awhile back in an attempt to some how solve the lag issue. Now that the 5.1 update is about to be released OTA by Sprint, I would like to just go back to an unrooted state. Any insight on how to do this would be greatly appreciated!

I completely agree. Freaking annoying too
Beginning to think the guy on s4gru.com was full of it and Sprint has pushed the update back for some reason. Or that guy is the only person in the US to receive. I called Sprint last night to ask when the update will be pushed and they just gave the blanket answer of "It's a staged rollout, we can't determine when you will receive it".

Just got notified of a new update. Sprint's website says that it fixed a major security issue (Stagefright). Anyone know anything about this? Any performance improvements/new features? Is it rootable like ZV7?
I just got notified about an update on my 996 as well. Hoping someone can clarify on what this update changes.
Not 100% sure of the changes, but take a look for yourself! Just received this in the morning, and uploaded to Google Drive. Enjoy!

No. If you are rooted it will not work.
So has anyone else's gotten really crappy from doing this switch? i have had more problems after this update, and the 5.1.1 update made the phone finally what its supposed to be.
If you need root for the new update, I can do it
Just send me a system backup

What would one have to do to hide an update like this? As far as i can see it's not worth unrooting for.
Edit: just figured it out. My apologies.

If you long press the notification you can open app info and disable notifications from it.
It won't fully "disable" the updates but itll at least stop nagging you about them.
Probably a better way to do it but this works for me.
Are you people aware of the stagefright security issues and the recently published exploit? Did you really not know about the worst security flaw in Android affecting about 950 million Android phones?
Check this page out for details:
https://nakedsecurity.sophos.com/category/technologies/operating-systems/mobile/android/
Install this upgrade as soon as possible, it will ensure that your phone is protected from the stagefright bugs plaguing Android for months, we'll since discovered a few months ago. It is the most important update your phone has ever received.
LG does not have this update for the European Flex2 yet, lucky you that you get it already.

My Phone Just got updated to software number 2.55.401.3 on 28/09/2020
with the tag : minor improvements.
no noticeable change only thing that stand out is the " August 1,2020 " android security patch level
anyone got the update?
search the internet for it but could not find anyone talking about it..
if you guys figured out what new stuff in this small (100mb) update let me know to add them to the list
PS: my phone is the unlocked version
update :
change logs :
- android security patches August 1,2020
- microphone fix for speaker mode on call
yes, i also received the update
No update for me yet, still on 2.55.401.1 with the speakerphone hotfix. That might be the reason why... I hope I'll also get it.
I also have the update for the speaker and no update for me. I am also rooted i know you have the remove magisk and restored the boot.img , not sure if is enough maybe need to install the ruu again for that.
I received the update too. Security upgraded to this year.
Hotfix for the speakerphone and no update for my phone, this is strange!

Yes but with what I know is not possible to install it in this way you will got a error. You need to go to HTC chat live and ask for the update and is will ask you your imei to push the update.
But what I am curious is why when you have this update the new one of this week you do not have it. Maybe is because this new update includes also this patch of speaker? Need to someone for confirm this

Is 2.55.401.3 for an EU / Asia model (that is, not U.S. Unlocked)? There's no update yet for the U.S. Unlocked model?
I've long moved on to the Pixel 4 series but just bought a prepaid 365 day tracfone SIM card, and gonna use the U12+ as my new backup phone. Would be nice to have the speakerphone issue fixed.
Nothing here yet. Unlocked U12+ 64GB (software number: 2.55.401.1) up to date in every other respect and on Vodafone UK.
I know this is a somewhat rhetorical question but the U12+ really is never going to get Android 10, is it?
Such a shame, the hardware on the device clearly has a lot of life left in it and I've owned mine for 2 years now.
Is there anything i can do, to get that update?
is there any RUU or something like that?
I decided to reach out to HTC to check if the hotfix people will also get this more official update. But after filling in my SN, I get a nice message saying:
