[Q] Rooting Android 4.4.4 18.3.1.C.1.15.[SOLVED] - Sony Xperia M2

Hi guys.
Is there any possibility of rooting Xperia M2 Android 4.4.4 18.3.1.C.1.15? I can't seem to find anything available. Previous method doesn't work anymore. Updated to the version mentioned through PC Companion.
I am desperate!
Later Edit:
There are people who will encounter this issue as well. Fixed it by letting BOOTBUNDLE unchecked in FlashTool both when you flash 4.3 and 4.4.4 back then use RootKitXperia and EasyTool.
Now the phone is rooted with the latest update.

Yeah, it's an issue with the installation of 18.3.1.C.1.15 via PC Companion/Sony Bridge for Mac. The new bootbundle doesn't allow to flash anything via FlashTool, unless one reflash the old bootbundle as well (thus not excluding it. What a stupid setting). I never bothered to update the guide. I'll do it now using a link to your post.

First time I tried without the BOOTBUNDLE, imagined it would work like the last time, but encountered some weird errors. Started again and let BOOTBUNDLE unchecked and it worked normally. No error or whatsoever. :fingers-crossed:

Flashing counter on the Xperia M2 (YES, IT'S REAL)

Before anyone says anything, I know, there's no 'counter' itself, but what I found it's quite similar.
For those who enjoy flashing their devices like me, I'd like to show you how all flashes we made are stored in the TA Partition. It doesn't matter if we have open or closed bootloader, they're all stored there.
Simply make a backup of your partition using a tool like BackupTA 9.11, open the TA.img with N++ and in line 700 and later if you have Unlocked BL, or line 1360 and later on Locked BL, and check the contents.

All flashes we made, via either flashtools or via PCCompanion, are stored there, with CDA contents, if we chose to erase UserData, the version we flashed, etc... So, just in case you just arrived here, and you need to send later your device to Sony to fix it, or repair it, I highly recommend you to root using whatever method you prefer, and then make a TA Bakcup before anything. I did it 1 year ago and this is how the TA looked in that time (quite clean):
Nice! Good job! Thats awesome!:highfive:
Are updates from PC Companion stored there? If not then it's flashtool thing

I think so, because bootloader updates (EMMA) seems to be there, look at the Unknown lines...
In fact, I think that anytime we flash via S1 protocol, is stored there, as a log.

Flashtool : loader.sin problem

Hello everyone,
I upgraded to Windows 10 this year. Until now, no big issue to report. However, someone recently gave me 2 Xperia phones : a sk17i, and a wt19i, in order to put something better on them rather than the stock ROMs that begin to age, and not very well.
I immediately downloaded Flashtool and Sony PC Companion, as I already have fixed some Xperias several years ago with this mighty tool. And since, I faced the loader.sin issue, and I can't find a damn way to fix it. Oh, and I have not any problem with the drivers.

What I find surprising is I can't find the Devices folder in the Flashtool installation files on my C: drive. I tried to download the master folder on the Androxyde github and put it there, but no luck...
If anyone has any solution, please shout out! This issue is driving me mad... And I know that the XDA community always finds a great and simple solution to this kind of problem.
Thank everyone in advance.
Someone? Maybe?

Just Delete loader.sin on your ftf file using winrar. Work for me. But make sure your ftf file is include not wrong device information (I mean if your phone is D2212 your ftf file must show D2212 on flashtool).

Noob in need of saviour - Z3 softbrick

Hi all,
Scoured the forum for a while but, to be honest, I didn't even know how to search for my issue. Please feel free to redirect me to another thread.
Two problems.
1.
Tried to flash Cyanogen to my Xperia Z3. Unlocked bootloader and tried to do something [enter technical word, flash maybe] a root img file. This soft bricked my phone, took it to a shop, they said it's dead, bought another one. Is this salvageable? More details: Followed instructions here, got to "fastboot reboot", (flashed a cyanogen nightly) then phone only made it to the Sony screen on startup. Then followed these instructions to flash moonwalker but the result was a soft brick (try to turn it on, one lifeless vibration and nothing). Didn't root it beforehand (yep, idiot). I've heard you could flash an older ROM, but this leads me to the problem below.
2.
New phone. Looking to root it. Using flashtool and an ftf (D6603_23.0.A.2.93) downloaded here, but when selecting firmware, the file ftf appears to be empty. I imagine flashtool has undergone cosmetic surgery (update) as it appears to be different than other pictures, or perhaps I'm missing something glaringly obvious?
If anybody with a bit of free time has a moment to help me out, I'd be very grateful. Many thanks.

Not sure the image is working and not able to post external links. To explain it, the firmware appears (and is the correct model), but all other boxes (content, wipe etc.) are empty and the flash button is greyed out.

Samsung SM-G532F Goes Dead Help!

Hi there
I'm having a serious problem with my sm-g532f, which went OFF forever after trying to flash a new ROM.
Here is what happen:
I rooted the phone in April of 2019, granted to use super user rights but the malfunction started in the midst of 2020, it started simulating back button clicks on its own. By that time I was used to flashing it with original and custom ROMS. But as I was not ok with its malfunction, I downloaded an original update which is of 2019, trying to overcome the problem i flashed it using Odin (as usual). Unfortunately, the download was interrupted by the USB cable, so the process failed. From that day it has never displayed anything.
it does not respond to charger connection nor power button press.
I tried to follow some advices from various sites from which they told me to flash it with SP Flash Tool using MTK USB Drivers. They said it would be detected but it wouldn't remain stable, they meant i would hear Windows reporting device connection and disconnection in less than 45 seconds. Yes, that happened and even now it does the same. They said the 'preloader' has been wiped, so their procedure told me it flash the preloader file first before all the rest of the files. I did it but the flashing tool asked for the 'authentication file', i searched it all around the Internet and found one with this name 'auth-sv5' in a ZIP file. But here is what the Flash Tool says back:

I am unable to use Software Repair on Xperia Companion and I have no idea as to why?

Hello,
As the title says, I am unable to use Xperia Companion to do a software repair; it tells me to please try again later, but I have tried several times for days and I keep receiving the same message. I have no clue what the source of this particular problem is, but it is quite distressing. If anyone knows what I can do to solve this and be able to use Xperia Companion successfully for using software repair, it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance!

Try EMMA you need unlocked bootloader

I don't know what an unlock bootloader is. I just flashed for the first time out of necessity. You can't use the data whole on call on US firmware of the Sony Xperia 5 IV, so I had to flash European firmware, but I'm wanting to use Xperia Companion to do software repair so that I can receive OTA updates. I should have probably expressed my intentions earlier, I apologize. Will EMMA help with my problem? I've never used it before.

Yes, I realized that was a bit of a silly question, so I edited my post to provide a bit more clarification.
