Sorry everyone for this annoying post but I have done research enough to think that I may be out of luck so you guys are my last hope here.
Here is the senario;
I have been running Cyanogenmod 12 (courtesy of Sultan). Once the ROM was discontinued I decided to give Paranoid 5.1 a shot. I downloaded the new rom, suggested SuperSU and Gapps and booted to the most up to date TWRP. I flashed the rom, then supersu, and finally Gapps and then rebooted my phone. The phone stayed in the boot screen for about 45 minutes (maybe even an hour) so I powered off the phone, pulled the battery, and attempted to boot back into recovery using the power and volume buttons but nothing was working. The phone would just keep vibrating (pulsing) until i let the buttons go and then jump right back into the booting screen until I turned the phone off again. Hopefully I am doing something wrong and there is an easy fix but Im afraid that I now havae a brick on my hands.
Please help,
SuperNewb
[Update]
Now the phone will hold the boot screen for a couple minutes then the screen just goes black. Not sure what that means.
Also, just so you guys dont think im too ignorant, I will say that I I have flashed at least 10 different ROMs before this so I would like to think that I have a decent understanding of how this all should work.
My mistake on posting this question here. I have reposted in the Q&A Forum.

Hi,
I will prefix this (as there are a few people around with this problem who can get into recovery mode) with the fact that holding down Vol- on boot is not getting me to the recovery / bootloader screen.
I have a rooted HTC Desire S (rooted it nearly a year ago, so info about the hboot etc is a distant memory).
Anyhoo, I decided to have a play about with one of the ICS roms but it was a bit buggy and the camera drivers still aren't working for video so I decided to go back to Endymion V3.4 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1310845
I did a full wipe, installed base rom, installed optional addons and then upgraded to 3.4 - booted fine into the OS so set about getting my system set up the way I like it.
I noticed that endy came with a theme installer so clicked on one of them to have a look, it asked for root, said it was installed and would need to reboot to take effect...
SO
the problem is, it now won't boot and is stuck on the white HTC boot screen.
Holding vol+/- and power buttons reset it but it just ends up back hanging on the boot screen.
Have tried pulling battery and trying again.
Holding Volume Down when powering up is no longer doing anything
So, I either need a saviour to point me in the direction of a fix.. or a kindly sould to break it to me gently when they tell me my phone has gone to the USB Dock in the sky..
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
update:
After pulling battery again, pulling out sim and sd cards, booting with vol- held down, i got into recovery. Am going to try and flash a different rom after doing a full wipe, I'll update once it's done but any insights in the meanwhile will still be appreciated
Sorted, cleared the thing out, stuck reaper CM rom on it, rebooted and everything is peachy for now.
Thanks me
Curious if anyone knows why this might have happened?
because you didnt flash the addon zip which was released alongside endymon and then tried to use the addons,it does say on the screen do not use these unless you have installed the addons
Hi guys...thanks for taking a minute to help me out.
I have been using the Cyanogenmod Nightlies for a few months, and have recently been experiencing a few random quirks since upgrading to the new version of Android. I decided that I'd do a full wipe and then install the new nightly. Everything worked fine, the phone booted, I could use apps, etc. Then, I decided to restore some of my apps and data from Titanium Backup.
It took about 40 minutes, and then finally got stuck on 98% which was "android data" or "system data" or something like that...i checked back a few minutes later and the phone was completely dead/frozen. I eventually pulled the battery and rebooted the phone, and now it's just stuck in a bootloop.
When I try to boot into recovery, it freezes on the "Samsung Galaxy S3" screen for a while, and then turns off. However, i CAN boot into download mode.
Can someone please point me in the right direction here? I know that android 4.2.2 reworks some of the system folders, making reverting back to a previous version difficult..? I don't know what to do. Really, I just need to be able to get into recovery, but I'm too ignorant to figure it out.
Thanks so much for taking the time to help me, it's very much appreciated!
hold tight, guys! for some reason, it booted into recovery after like the 50th try. hopefully i can figure it out from here! thanks
I've had my phone rooted with CM10.1 since I got it back in December and last week I was messing around with the new nightlies but because of the all the constant reboots and freezes I decided to go back to an earlier verson of CM10.1.
Now my phone will not boot up and stays in the CM loading screen, I tried to get into recovery but I just feel a vibration and the screen stays dark although sometimes it just goes straight to the boot screen and then stays there.
Have I messed up my phone permanently? Any help will be greatly appreciated (I'm desperate). Thank you very much
Edit: I can get into Odin.
Edit2: After a lot of trial and error I managed to get into recovery, wiped data and reflashed CM, thankfully it worked. Although no one responded thank you.
I think i might have wrecked my P5110!
I rooted it to Cyanogen mod about 6 month ago to CM10.1.1 and that was great.
I had been using the built in updater to get the latest Cyanogen firmware without any problem. Decided to try a CM 10.2 nightly but was having big problems with it draining battery, crashing and rebooting for no apparent reason.
No problems thinks I, just unwind it to an older version of CM from the built in Cyanogen Mod Updater. I selected 10.1.3 RC2, and left it be.
Came back to it some time later to find the old logo spinning there. Figured it was still running and left it some more, and some more, and some more and it just kept spinning. I guess its knackered. I DID NOT wipe the cache and data as i was doing it from within Cyanogen so naively thought it would work okay.
Okay thinks I, go into recovery, wipe the cache. No dice. Try as i may i can NOT get ClockWorkRecovery to come up, only ODIN.
Talk about fools rush in. Simple thinks I, reinstall CWM from ODIN, go back into CWM, wipe the cache, see if that works.
flashing goes smoothly, but try as i may i can no longer get into ODIN or CWM, only into a never ending circle of Cyanogen bootup.
Any suggestions for a next step. Had the worst day at work and really shouldn't have bothered touching the damn thing!
Oh, I might well have spotted the problem
I thought I was flashing the CWM for P5110, but a closer inspection of the filename
GT-P5100_ClockworkMod-Recovery_6.0.1.0.tar
Shows quite clearly what i've done.
I'm guessing there is no coming back from this?

Flash stock firmware via pc odin this will solve your issues. ....
Sent from my GT-N7100 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Every time you flash with ANY ROM you need to wipe data or bootloop obviously will appear.

Even though your recovery may be screwed up, it's strange that you can't get to the download mode... So, what exactly happens if you force reboot by holding power for several seconds, and immediately after that hold power and Volume Up together while it's powering up?
When stuck in the CM boot up, pressing and holding the power button would force a shut down, but the tab would then instantly reboot.
Holding the volume up (or down, i was desperate) until the samsung logo appeared wouldn't get me to ODIN, it would go to the CM boot screen.
If i plugged it into the charger once in the CM splash, and powered down, it would take me to the charge screen. Pulling the plug would then turn it off, without it rebooting.
Initially this wouldn't work, but perhaps because i was being impatient. All the instructions i had read say that the volume button can be released once the samsung logo pops up, perhaps i've miss read. Ultimately i found (more by accident than anything), you need to keep the volume button pressed until the second time the samsung logo pops up, then it will enter ODIN.
I managed to download a a stock rom from SamMobile, and flash it in.
It still wouldn't boot though, until i went into recovery and wiped data/cache. It also then took rather a long time to boot back up, presumably unpacking various 'stuff', had me a little concerned, so i left it alone for a few hours and came back to find the first boot welcome screen.
Lesson to be learned, always wipe the cache/data before an update, even if the previous half dozen CM updates had been fine.
I think what actually screwed things up was going from a 10.2 beta BACK to a 10.1 RC ROM.
Oh well, its working happily again, and not falling over like on the 10.2 beta. And i dont need to buy a RIFF box!
this is my first htc and so far i am missing my samsung and motos
the phone is now completely non responsive and is stalled at the HTC boot screen with the text "this build is for development purposes only " i have the verizon htc one m8 ive tried removing the sd and sim holding power holding volume and power nothing makes a difference.
rooted with s off twrp is my custom recovery
started by putting slimrom on for a change of pace i had horrible signal strength and decided to try another rom somewhere in the process of flashing venom one my sd lost its backups the phone had stayed on the same screen for a while but eventually booted to a stable seeming venom rom and had 3g but no 4g service i ended up rebooting the phone today around 11 am and its been in this loop / screen since. i let the battery die down and was able to get to recovery and searched for my back ups but they were gone i ended up rebooting and now am stuck on the same screen as before. even after trying to enter recovery twrp it goes back to htc and not twrp
i tried every combination of buttons the few times and have drained the battery twice and now it just boots to this screen and is non responsive. hope that i can manage to find a way to push something to it or enter recovery and go back to stock using ruu's
anyone with input or advice would be a blessing at this point id be happy to make a donation for any useful help / anything to get me out of this screen even so i can push another rom or ruu to get me to stock
im afraid ive ruined a perfectly awesome phone
update got back to twrp and tried to re flash the venom one rom after full wipe but used their option for "stock" install said 100% and sucessful but upon the reboot is now seems to be stuck in the same screen.
got into the recover after battery died re flashed venom
after about 15 minutes on the htc screen it went to set up ....still very buggy more so than last time the phone was actually working but it is at least from what i can tell working ... going to try to get back to square one somehow
screen wont turn on and acts very buggy only time it stays on is holding power and gives reboot options... i done f ' ed this phone up.
How long are you waiting after I restarts when the install is finished? It will take a long time on that first boot. I have seen them take more than 5 minutes and if you interrupt it it can cause problems.
