Hi folks,
I'm trying to root and old Samsung Galaxy S2 that i've got so I can use a different sim in it [I'm taking it to a festival and don't want to trash my other phone].
I've been trawling the web for hours now and seen various different ways of rooting the phone, but none of them seem to work for me.
I was wondering if anyone would be able to point to a completely idiot-proof, solid way of getting me through the process?
Any help is very much appreciated. Tearing my hair out here!!
Thanks
G

Ok. So i read the introduction sticky thread on the galaxy s4 (verizon) and none of it really makes much sense. Im trying to learn how to root my phone and do things with it obviously. I have installed different launchers on my phone and i work in retail with phones so i understand the basics, not a complete noob here ^.^ but the whole rooting/jailbreaking thing is a new turf im unfamiliar with but i would like to dip a toe into the field. anyone who can explain a good before rooting lesson would be very helpful.

Is there a root for the Galaxy Tab4 7 " T-337A? I apparently have an oddball (AT&T). I've been asking this question in the Android forums for 2 weeks but can get any replies. I know how busy you gentlemen are and don't have a lot of time with newbie questions, but I thought it couldn't hurt to ask.
Thank you kindly.
P.S.: I think I found the answer. Wasn't looking in the right place. Thank you.

There doesn't seem to be any sort of thread about this. Maybe there's just extremely few SGH-I257 users but they really seem to be left in the lurch with regards to ROM support.
I saw reports that SGH-I257 (the AT&T variant of the Galaxy S4 Mini) could be flashed with the I9195 variant's ROMS, but I tried doing so and it didn't work.
I just want a solid answer as to where to go next, I'm kind of surprised this isn't something addressed in most Q&A sections for this phone. Is there some big Q&A thread for newbies that I've missed? Can anyone help?
Thank you for your time and sorry for the trouble,
