[Q] Calendar sync icon always on in account settings. - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Under my Google account in settings my Calendar sync icon never goes away. I've noticed a drop in battery life lately and Google Play services has been topping my battery charts, I'm wondering if this has something to do with it. The icon does stop spinning but it never disappears like it does for all the other items. I found someone else who had the same problem and he said he deleted then recreated his google account and that fixed it. I tried that and now not only is the sync icon still stuck there for Calendar but now it's stuck there for Google Play Newstand as well. Just curious if anyone else has found a solution to this problem?

BTW that's not my picture, hence the dates way off, it's from the post of the other guy that had the same problem (he's on a Nexus 6).

Google Calendar treats me like a guest? Invites me to each new event and so on...

Hello everybody,
since the last time the Google Calendar apps treats me as an guest.
All events I add using the app are indeed sync'd correctly, but contain other settings as the ones I create using the online version on my desktop.
This is how the event looks on my desktop (I assume those symbols to stand fo "guest" and "anticipation" or something like this):
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
If I enter the edit-view of this event I've got additional options for invites and so on.
If I edit the event on my mobile I can set the following:
("Datenschutz" translates to "privacy" )
I think they have an impact on the settings, described above...but I'd have to set them for each new event.
What can I do? There is no menu to define the standard-velues
Thank you

Got the same problem in G Calendar app, hope to find out some solution... this is annoying

Google services framework Spyware?

Everyone knows Google knows where you're at if you have location enabled but can someone tell me what the heck this is? I noticed it when turning things off using my rOM Toolbox "auto start manager" but when you uncheck this one resets itself later... you basically cannot turn it off....
is it trying to monitor whether you have any gay or lesbian activity on your phone and where your location is at? Really?

OMG
Never noticed this but after you said it !!!!!!!
Looks like google really is spying on our activities.....
really google wtf are you upto......
Yeah it sounds like people don't know what to think about this one, I was hoping someone could tell me something legitimate about it, of course when you do a Google search it brings up nothing.... What a coincidence!
I haven't tried searching with bing yet but that's what I thought

Anyone know what this is?

A new icon has started popping up in the status bar on my SGS 6 (UK) since the recent update:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
It only appears when I open Chrome, Flipboard or Facebook and is persistant for some time after the apps are closed (even if I kill the processes).
Can anyone shed some light on this please?

Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Yeap, WiFi calling.
I should have clarified that it happens when I am not on wifi as well. I also can't figure why it would be active in an app like Flipboard that is not in anyway a communication app.
Gonna clear and hard reset my device in case as this seems to me a little suspicious.
There is an option to turn it on or off in the notification center.
I dont have that option on my notification but it is the right icon so at least I know what it is.
Thanks for the advice guys 😀

Phone Dialer Sorting

So here is an issue so dumb, it shouldn't even be an issue, but here we are. The contact list in the stock dialer doesn't app doesn't sort correctly.
You can see here that in the settings screen, it it set to sort by first name:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
And it works correctly in the standalone contacts app:
But in the dialer app is apparently like, "whatever, YOLO", and just does whatever the hell it wants:
So as a first time OnePlus user I'm a little out of the loop here. Is there a fix or a hidden setting for this I'm not seeing? Is it a known issue that might get fixed some day? Or is this a "feature", and how many other "features" can I look forward to?
Hey HeyMrDeadMan,
did you resolve the issue? In my case sorting is correct for some time (a few days) and then reverts to LastName, FirstName. Rebooting the phone corrects the sort. I am at my wits end.
Let me know.
Cheers!

Question Issues with google accounts not properly signin in?

Seems I find myself in a scenario where my Google accounts that are logged into another device can fully login to my new s22.
I get constant notifications "account action required", that when clicked on do nothing. When I view my Google account in the Google app. Clicking on sign in brings me back to this screen. About to send this back and just get a pixel, as I have been able to have accounts on pixels and other devices at the same time with no issues. Any pointers?

I've never had this issue but try this:

Existing app cache / data issues - As someone suggested, this can be resolved by going to Settings <installed apps / apps <Google Play services

Hope this helps.
