I've done everything correctly, followed every tutorial, and I'm still not having any luck. I started on stock rooted Lollipop, and all I was getting as installation aborted errors with using Lollipop Autorec. I've since flashed back to stock rooted Kitkat, which I've got the closest with. I've been trying to flash one of the newer nightly updates from Cyanogenmod (20150709 specifically). I've also tried using the first stable release, to no avail. I used one click root to root, which worked fine, and Autorec Kitkat installer for TWRP, which also installs fine, and I can get into recovery no problem. I wipe, I flash, and it boots up, but then it never loads. It ends up being stuck on a boot loop, and it's very frustrating because of how close I'm getting. A Cyanogenmod 11 snapshot flashed correctly, but I'd like to figure out the newer update problem. I'm on LG D800. I'm a complete noob at this stuff, and need a sensei to guide me, please. Thanks in advance.
(Update): I've just now tried installing the newest Resurrection Remix for LG G2, and that sticks me in a boot loop as well, so I have no idea what I have to do. Will update again in a moment because I'm going to try downloading stock Lollipop and the newest TWRP.
(Update 2): So, I've just done what I said I'd do earlier. I flashed the LP bootstack, then Resurrection Remix, then Gapps, and I'm getting a bootloop for that, as well, so I'm calling it a night, and going to bed. Someone please respond. I really need help.
Did you update TWRP? You need to be on the latest version, 2.8.7.1 to flash the newest roms. http://blastagator.ddns.net/twrp.html Put this on your phone and go into recovery and flash it. No wipes needed. Don't reboot when it's done, back arrow to the first screen and select reboot and then select recovery. After that reboots you'll be on the latest TWRP and can flash the LP roms and necessary files or just reboot system and you'll boot up the rom you currently have installed.
Yeah, I ended up trying that, and flashing Resurrection Remix, and I was still getting a boot loop on that, as well.

I just read what you said again, and no, I didn't actually try that version. I'm on TWRP normal version 2.8.6.1. I will probably try what you said, soon, and report back when I do.
(EDIT): Also, am I supposed to flash a baseband and/or a different bootloader? I'm really new to this stuff, and I don't 100% know everything to do, and some tutorials aren't 100% clear, because I guess they're assuming the viewer knows what they're doing.

Yeah, from what I'm reading in all the latest LP threads you have to be on the latest TWRP. I am and I've had zero issues flashing the different roms. Follow the OP of each one exactly and you'll be fine.

No baseband, just the bootloader the OP specifies. You just need to read, read and read some more. It may be confusing at first but you'll figure it out. A good thing to have on your computer is here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2663369 . It makes it very easy to go back to KK and start over if you need to. I've used this a number of times and have gone back from LP without a problem. Once again, read the OP until you understand what you need to do.

What if the OP doesn't specifie? Because I didn't even know I needed to flash that, till this point, haha. Yeah, I've used that, and have that. This past weekend I soft bricked my phone, probably around 10 times, and I used that each time, haha.

I don't know of any of the caff LP versions that don't state that you need to flash the correct bootstack. If in doubt, don't flash it. If you were trying to install cyanogenmod 12 it doesn't require a bootstack flash but 12.1 does. You have to be sure of what you're trying to install. You might try running this http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-g2/development/rom-stock-lollipop-30b-stripped-t3144195 . Same dev that builds TWRP that I sent you to put this together. It's an all in one flash! And since it's in the at&t section it's not bloated with issues from users of different G2 variants. Just a thought.

Alright. I got around to trying what you suggested. Still a boot loop on Resurrection Remix, and I don't know why. I flashed the bootstack for my phone, that the post said to, then the rom, then Gapps. So I have no idea what I have to do to get this to work.

I'm assuming that you're on stock rooted LP and you've only tried flashing the RR rom. I haven't flashed that one in a long time but I see on the last few pages of the thread that there are several people getting stuck in bootloops. Is it the rom or their installation? I don't know but I'd seriously try a different rom. The latest Cloudy G2 3.3 is an excellent rom and everything works. It's my go to backup rom. The least confusing way to install it is to follow this,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=61396344&postcount=465 although you'd be flashing the 3.3 version not the 3.1. On the aosp side, I've been using Vanir https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=28988 with TK Gapps https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=31524 and this bootstack https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347760740 . Right now I'm running Slim Saber http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/development/rom-slimlp-alpha-0-4-t3135141 . It's a very nice rom too. Other than that I don't know how else to help.

Good luck! One other thing I was going to say is that if you want a great camera/video and a stock like experience with a lot of features then go with the Cloudy G2 3.3. It's based on the LG firmware so it's a good place to start and get rid of all of the at&t bloatware.

One other thing that occurred to me, are you doing full wipes in TWRP? You have to select Wipe-Advanced Wipe-then check off Dalvik,System,Data,Cache (DO NOT check off Internal Storage) and then swipe the slider. I always do it 3 times, press the back button and Factory Reset 3 times. Probably overkill but it works for me. Then go back and do the install.

I do it 3 times because on my old Galaxy Note I noticed a few times that when I flashed a new rom a few things that I hadn't installed were still there. So I got in the 3 wipe habit.

Hello,
I appreciate everyone here is from quite a technical background. I'm quite a noob with these things but hopefully this isn't a massive issue.
I have a HTC sensation (I'm in the uk) and I have been using cm7 for many months. I've just decided to download cm9 and install and everything was going smoothly until I get to the welcome screen.
I try to change English (USA) to English (uk) but this freezes the phone and makes it reboot. I go through this motion over and over again. Any ideas please?
When I updated to cm9, I assumed my phone was already s-off (to be honest I still don't know what this means but thought I did it when I installed cm7) so all I did this time was download cm9 and gapps to the root folder of the SD card. Then I opened rom manager, flashed clockwork recovery and went into recovery mode. I then wiped the data on the phone, wiped the cache, installed cm9 and then gapps and now I'm here!
Any ideas anyone? Many thanks in advance.

Hi,
Once you are s-off,you do not lose it,unless you manually switch it on in fastboot.
Did you update your firmware before installing the new ROM?

Hi, many thanks for your reply. No I didn't update the firmware, I don't think it states this in the update instructions on the CM website - I assume I was supposed to update firmware?
What should I do now, considering the phone is in this silly loop (welcome screen to off to welcome etc...)

The post above mine links to the best guide to get CM9 booting.
But in the mean time if you don't have the time to figure all that out (it's not hard, but it can take a little while your first time because you'll be extra careful and read all the instructions 100 times before each step) you can revert back to a Gingerbread ROM. I assume that's where you started, so if you have the Gingerbread firmware you can boo any Gingerbread ROM. That will only take about 5 minutes. So if you're in a rush to get a working phone right now just do that and it'll boot right up.
haha yes i read the instructions several times, although it's quite clear, to a newbie it's still very complicated! managed to get through it though and in hindsight that thread is pure awesomeness.
managed to get cm9 working now so will spend some time messing around with it.
thank you for all of your help.
ps. yes i began using gingerbread (stock) but i didn't have a ROM to hand and I wasn't sure if I can just download and install any rom (stock or not) willy nilly without having to do several different things to my phone so i just tried to get cm9 sorted. hopefully won't have to update rom now for some time.
thanks again!!
I keep running into problems after flashing any ICS custom ROM. (Maybe I should try going to an ICS Stock ROM first).
Most times it just loops on the loading screen.
- Phone is rooted of course.
- I usually have the Emancipation GB custom rom before flashing to this one or a Stock GB with root and red CWM.
- I follow instructions to a 'tee'
- When I do reboot, it loops at Samsung logo.
The last time I tried (Dark Knight ICS Rom), just recently, I flashed then rebooted into recovery (from advance-boot to recovery), and it didn't go to recovery mode, it just looped.
So currently I'm on Stock GB with root and red CWM.
What am I doing wrong?
What are some things I should consider?
Some of the GB custom roms are nice yes, but I rooted mainly so I could get ICS.
Thanks for any help anyone can offer/

To be honest I was running from using Entropy's build.
Fear of it being too technical (It's actually the first thread I saw when I was thinking of going to ICS). So I used it and my phone is up and running now on ICS.
Won't be able to play around with it as much until I get home from work but thanks for mentioning it again.
Now to go and read the thread all the way through (kidding) well see if the problems he had are still occurring.
Thanks again guys.
For me, using Entropy's build made it easy to go to any other ICS rom for the Infuse- it is great as is or as a "stepping-stone" to other ICS builds. Glad it worked for you.
Yea man it was nice. I don't even need the other custom roms, this has everything I wanted.
And since it has a theme chooser, I'm good for life on the look of it.
I might try and customize my own stuff in the future but for now, all is right with my Infuse. I was going to get the Note but I got a brand new phone right here.
Hi, I can't seem to find my way around this issue. Every time I try to open any camera app, it doesn't allow me and says it's unable to connect. Is there no sure solution to this yet? I tried flashing new cameras through recovery. Nothing works at all. I have tried flashing fixes from several threads on a clean start, different camera apps, clearing caches, clean wiping, and other things I can't even remember at this point with all the frustration. What's up with this?
TW based ROMs work. AOSP seems to not. I lost the thread explaining how to dial the codes into a TW based ROM, but another problem with this for me is, I am extremely confused as to how to do some of the steps explained in that thread (hence why I closed it, looks like that should be the way out for me though?).

Here's the thread I was talking about, however I'm confused about how to go about zipping and unzipping these files. Or even how to get to them to place the files in to begin with considering internal SD card is the only thing that comes up for USB storage. Unless you're supposed to move them in and out from within android.
Would really like a confirm on whether or not this works for the Verizon version, and whether or not it's a different process/if this even works at all, rather not break it fully
Why is this not more of a widespread issue? it seems so crucial that many are having but nobody seems to be talking about it or wanting to find a definite fix for it?

I extracted the SlimISP_ZH.bin from my backup and

I flashed the new firmware (MD3) for this phone. I had everything good and working with CM10... Guess what, borken camera, same issues...
I can't post links yet, but it's in the android development thread with this title:
★ [Rom][I535VRBMD3][4.1.2] Stock Root Odex/Deodex [05/29/13]★
Except... this time I cannot do the simple copy/paste of the bin files this time, why is that?
At this point I just want my VRBLK3 (I think?) firmware back.. Where can I get it to reverse what I just downloaded, in essence?
Also.. What the heck kind of hurdles am I going to have to go through when CM10.1 is complete?.. I don't think I'll be updating my phone past 10.1 at this rate if this continues, really irritating.

Yes, that is the post. I also tried MB1 out of curiosity, no dice on either of them. I had a perfectly working CM10. I dun goofed :\.
That was my next step (rerooting, installing that firmware AIO, and then installing CM10). However my question is this, what happens when more firmware comes out? I have to re root and start over again?
If you flashed md3 just flash back mb1 and you will fix that problem. I had the issue. Pulled the firmware from invisiblek for mb1 and back to normal on liquid smooth

Yeah I think a clean slate is definitely needed from time to time. I swap roms frequently but liquid gives me the best battery life right now from my tests so I keep going back. I Get scared telling people to odin because so mant people soft brick while screwing up a flash inodin or hard brick because they flash a non Verizon rom

good point. saw where someone flashed an i9300 s3 rom on the verizon s3 and brick city. my problem with aokp, cm, liquid, carbon, baked bean, I've tried them all, is constant freezing forcing me to pull the battery. I love the features of those roms but I hate having to pull the battery all the time
Hmm, over the past couple days I've tried out a few different ROMs on my girlfriend's S3 here, and on each one I would get this "Could not connect to the camera" error, every single time upon opening the camera app. One of the Paranoid Android ROMs, Liquid Smooth, and Synergy (even the Touchwiz camera was broken on that!).
I can restore to the original backup I made of the stock ROM, and the camera works fine again. But as soon as I try a different ROM, no camera.
I'd love to get an AOSP ROM running on this phone, but having a working camera is a requirement, and I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Searching the individual threads for the ROMs yields little help, and I'm getting exactly the same error on different ROMS, so I feel like I'm doing something wrong on a higher level. Any chance that switching from TWRP to CWM would make a difference? I don't see why it would, but I suppose it's something I could try.

Yep, I'm saying I tried that, still nothing :\ I'm going to flash MB1 and get the stock files again to see if it will do anything but I doubt it.

Have you tried odin back to MB1 or even LK3 and letting it go through the OTA's? Those OTA's also update rpm, and other partitions, that as far as I know don't get updated when we flash these stock files on xda unless we flash them ourselves. Maybe something screwed up and is being persistent since those partitions aren't getting updated along the way?

I'm honestly just going to restart from scratch and re root when CM10.1 is fully done (hopefully soon...) Nothing is working. Flashed to MB1 firmware on CM 10. Tan MB1 CleanROM. Camera worked in CleanROM, copy/pasted onto my CM10 after the restore, still nothing... Seriously mind boggling.

Probably best, that would be my first thing to try if I had that problem, restarting from scratch. If all else fails, restarting from scratch will wipe out everything. If that failed, I would probably suspect hardware issue.

Flashing the MB1 firmware fixed the camera for me on AOSP. I flashed this zip in recovery after the ROM was installed:

Link was obtained from here (FAQ about it):

Well I would recommend liquid 2.5 with the kernel that comes with it and I never change any of the overclocking settings. I don't have to pull the battery at all on this one.

Hey all, need a quick hand with my T-Mo LG G2 d801- 4.4.2 stock rom.
Process so far: towelroot>supersu>autorec>twrp>...
Tried flashing CM11, but after about 20min I figured I did something wrong, lol.
What version of cyanogenmod should I be flashing, 10 or 11? From the description of what AutoRec does to deal with the bootloader, it downgrades to the last vulnerable rom to install/enable custom recovery, correct? If so, does it stay downgraded or is that just to get the custom recovery in place?
Don't want to brick my phone experimenting, so here I am. Thanks in advance!
Also should have waited till after work, as I have no more time tonight to mess with it unfortunately. Back in 8hrs! :silly:
Nevermind, I got it working.

Autorec just flashes an older boot loader, with a stock based KK kernel that's compatible. Once up and running any stock based kernel can be flashed if running a stock ROM. It also supports running any after market ROM, however, if running a jb based ROM one needs to be on a jb modem, and if running KK a compatible modem. These are pretty much the only prerequisites.
Sorry, that was rather rude of me wasn't it? Apologies. Not fair to ask for help if I can't return the favor when I can.
Well, instead of looking around on the CM downloads page to get the most stable release, I just got the most recent snapshot of CM 11. Silly me
Turns out the right file to flash first was, of course, the last stable release for the G2 D801, which was CM 10.2.0 (at least at the time of this writing, as far as I know.) After getting the right file and trying again, I was rocking my first custom ROM. Go me! :good:
I have not yet tried the snapshot again to see if I could upgrade to CM11, as I hit another snag: I can't connect to my carrier anymore. I can see T-Mobile in the list for networks but selecting them does nothing, I get no service. Restoring the stock ROM works just fine, its like nothing happened, but running CM I can't connect. Any suggestions?
So after doing a wipe to my phone (was becoming slow) my phone randomly restarts itself for no reason as if it just crashes. I am running the latest version of the beanstalk rom. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2091900 I don't have the greatest understanding of flashing, roms, blah blah blah, but managed to get kit kat working for the last year or so, I don't understand why this is happening now, did I choose a bad rom or something? Everything else on the phone works but obviously constant restarts get to be very annoying.
Any help would be appreciated,
thank you!

Try leaving it turned on in recovery mode (CWM). If it still reboots, then you have a hardware issue. If it stays stable, I would blame the ROM and try a different version or a different distro.

Thanks for the reply,
I don't think it is a hardware issue as it never did this when I had Jelly Bean or even the last time I had Kit Kat, never know though! Also, I will try to leave it in recovery and see if it does it but a few questions:
-What is "distro" (does it has to do with the OS of the phone?)
-Is there some ROM you could recommend to me for this phone that is stable.. When I install the beanstalk ROM there are like 10 to choose from, I'm guessing they are all older/newer versions!?
-Finally something I was wondering for the longest time but wasn't sure of is can I go back to say, Jelly Bean? Or is it "irreversible"?
Thanks again, glad there's people out there who can help the noobs like me!

Methinks it is the specific ROM. I call the different types of OM out there distributions (or "distros" - in light of what is commonly used in the Linux world), but there may be a better term. It could be the version of Beanstalk you are using, it could be any version of BeanStalk with your phone. Hard to say.
In light of above, I would try CarbonROM. I tried it out briefly, and haven;t had a problem with it (and have heard no issues form the guy I sold the phone to with it installed).
But if you want to go back to JellyBean, there is still a version of 4.2 kicking around (CM 10.1) in the development threads. You can downgrade, at worst you may have to ODIN back to stock. But try to flash in CWM first. I was quite satisfied with that version. My biggest gripe is that the mobile data quick setting didn't work fully (but the long way around did). There is CM 10.2 as well, but I could never get that one installed on my phone (installer would break). Between the two, I would try 10.1 (and if you cannot find a copy, I can dropbox it to you).

YES!
So, after I left the phone in CWM for 25 minutes or so and it being fine I decided to get Carbon as I seen in your "signature" that you had that ROM on your Infuse, it has been good for 2 hours+, looking good! I guess it was the Beanstalk ROM after all.
Thanks for the downgrading information as well, wasn't sure if you could downgrade or what would happen!
Finally, what is flashing? (I could google it but since your here, could you give me a noob friendly definition!?)
Thanks for all your help

Went to reply about the camera issue and notice it was no longer in the post. Glad you got it sorted.
So flashing, as I understand it, is just another term for installing something via recovery. Not sure of the origin, maybe have something to do with installing to flash memory.

Ah ok, so it's essentially as I thought it was. I thought I was doing something wrong in terms of "flashing" but guess not! Sounds like it should just be called "Installing custom ROM".. !
Yeah, in terms of the camera thing, I'm an idiot and had USB storage turned on *facepalm*, So it wouldn't let me open the camera app!

I am not sure if you are still facing the same issue but if you are facing reboots, then considering doing a fresh install after cleaning your internal storage as well since the remnants of the apps from previous installs have caused me problems. Ever since I started doing a fresh install (Factory reset, wiping the cache, wiping the dalvik cache and even the cache partition along with the wiping of the internal storage), there have been no reboot issues.
