Q&A for [Guide] 920I Modem and XtreStoLite support
Some developers prefer that questions remain separate from their main development thread to help keep things organized. Placing your question within this thread will increase its chances of being answered by a member of the community or by the developer.
Before posting, please use the forum search and read through the discussion thread for [Guide] 920I Modem and XtreStoLite support. If you can't find an answer, post it here, being sure to give as much information as possible (firmware version, steps to reproduce, logcat if available) so that you can get help.
Thanks for understanding and for helping to keep XDA neat and tidy!

May i know which odin version you are using? I keep getting FAIL message when trying to flash OF8 Modem G920I using version 3.10.6.

920i trying to update modem and bootloader
I fixed my issues not being able to flash the modem and bootloader i used the odin link on xtrestolites pure edition same with his bootloader and modem hope that helps you guys

Delete please

How come when I flash the bootloader it just hangs on flashing the cm.bin?

T-Mobile baseband
Are you able to flash a T-Mobile baseband to 920i

Do you use ODIN to flash either modem and bootloader?

T-mobile Band 12
I am trying to use the galaxy s6 920i on the T-mobile network but for some reason my LTE only gets one bar and it hovers around -112dbm. I went to the T-mobile store and they said that they had switched to a 700 mhz band so that's why my phone isn't getting strong signal, but I looked online and the phone supports the band 12 (700)! I've flashed the modem.tar but with no avail to better signal :/. I was wondering if I were to flash the modem for the T-mobile version of the Galaxy s6 if maybe that could remedy the problem?

New ROM ?
Hello Hello, I live in Brazil. I can install this ROM on my S6 ?

Thanks

Can i install the latest g920i bootloader if im using xstrestolite 2.2?

I was following this bootloader/modem flash guide by xtrestolite's author, and i am a bit confused
it says
- Click on the 'BL' button, and load in your BOOTLOADER tar.md5 file for your model
- Click on the 'CP' button, and load in your MODEM tar.md5 file for your model
but the files provided aren't in tar.md5 format, they are bins, not recognized in odin what should I do? some posts say make them into a tar file, but then there is another question, do they have to be in seperate tar files like in the guide or can they be just in one tar file? if in one tar file, when i flash it do i use BL or CP?
also for an OGA phone, do i MUST use the OGA bootloader/modem? would it brick my phone if i flash the COH3 bootloader/modem that has already been repacked into odin flashable .tar? i ask this mainly cause I don't know how to pack the bin files into tar : /
can somebody answer these questions for me please? i'd be much appreciated if you can make the .tar file/files for OGA, thx in advance.

[Completed] Samsung SM-G930VL ROM Help

I attempted to root my phone, kit said it worked for all models. It was This one . When it went to reboot after running Odin it froze at the "Service of Tracphone" screen. I rebooted it by using physical keys, and it went through. If I try to continue the root process it freezes. So, I'm left with a custom ROM and want to go back to stock, it's no use losing features from having a custom ROM without any of the benefits. However, when I look under the "Return to stock" it does not list my carrier (Straight Talk). I searched high and low looking for the stock firmware to no avail.
Model Number: SM-G930VL
Firmware's CSC Code: TFN
Active CSC: TFN
CSC Country: USA / US
Bootloader version: G930VLUDU2APD2
PDA Version: G930VLUDU2APD2
CSC Version: G930VLTFN1APD2
If anyone can find and link me the stock firmware it would be greatly appreciated. I may need some instruction on how to do it as well, I'm new at all of this.
Thank you in advance.
Hello,
There is no forum for your device but I found a thread at Sammobile saying that the Straight Talk S7 is the same as the Verizon S7. I would link you to the thread but we are not allowed to post links to the Sammobile website.
I will copy the text content from the thread I found and paste it below.
Your phone is Verizon compatible.
Try flashing the VZW firmware using BL + AP + CP + CSC
Odin settings
Re-partition
F.Rest Time
Auto Reboot
The user that asked this question at Sammobile states that this worked for them.
For further help achieving this, post your questions in the forum linked below.

What files do I need to complete reflash my Note 4 SM-N910F?

I got a bricked Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (910F) vodafone branded.
it's totally broken I can't start it, can't go into recovery (the hardware buttons are OK).
I can only go into download mode.
tried flashing everything with odin back to stock. followed many different instructions and now I'm lost.
can someone tell me what exact files I need?
I think I have the right firmware downloaded BUT what about the bootloader? on sammobile under germany-vodafone there are so many different versions which one shall I choose?
AND: Do I need CSC? if so which one and where to find? Couldn't find it on sammobile.
And am I right with putting the bootloader under BL, the firmware under AP, the CP (whatever this is) under CP, the csc under csc?
repartition unchecked as I read somewhere.
I still don't understand what this "pit" file is for and I'm not sure if I have the right one.. never had a phone with sooo many different firmware files..
I'm used to flash via fastboot "recovery.img, boot.img, system.img" odin is a new thing for me
HELP PLEASEEE :'(
the reactivation lock is on.

I don't have this device but, your best bet is to post this question within the following Q&A thread that's specific to the Note 4.

SM-G955FD Oreo Firmware on SM-G955N

Hello amazing XDA devs,
I need a bit of advise and help with flashing oreo firmware on my device. I have already done a lot of research already but have failed to find any satisfactory answer. So here is my story,
I purchased my galaxy s8+ from korea. Model number is G955N. I wasn't able to get volte signal on it hence, rooted it and changed the csc to India.
In the process I also had to update my BL to AQL3.
I am now trying to flash an indian firmware on my korean device. i.e. installing SM-G955FD firmware on SM-G955N device. I undestand hardware of both the devices (korean and indian) are same. So, there should not be any problem in this cross flashing of firmware. However, ODIN doesn't allow this.
Here are my few queries which I hope you can help me with
1) Would it allow me to flash *FD firmware on *N device if I use prince comsy odin or some other custom odin?
2) Do I need to flash *N oreo BL if I decide to flash any other custom oreo rom which supports F/FD/N variants?
3) Where can I find *N oreo BL and AP to flash if only option is to install custom oreo rom?
4) If I flash oreo firmware for *N variant, would I loose my csc changes and I will have to start all process again to get back volte signal?
I know this is a long list of question. But, I am sure a lot of people have these queries and it will help all of them in understanding the process and upgrade their devices if these questions can be answered.
Would appreciate your help on this matter.
Thanks,
I got it..just flashed the oreo rom from twrp and everything seems to be working fine.
hello. which custom did you flash ? also need it. thanks
I have my G955N made 2 sims aleady.
I observed that the developer did the following steps:
1. They made it support 2 sims: IMEI guru software
2. They flashed custom that supported G955X:Renovate ICE in xda
3. They changed 1 slot sim tray with 2 slot sim trays.
4. I observed that BL and CP are of G955N but AP and CSC are else from G955X.
Thanks?.

Please help with switching firmwares, kind of a weird situation.

Getting a new-in-box Note10+ today from Swappa, so I assume it will be on some Android 9.0 TMO firmware. I need to get it onto the Verizon firmware.
SamFirm only gives the latest Android 10 firmwares. (It may be important to note that the VZW and XAA files both have the exact same filename: SM-N975U1_10_20200118102941_hj8esiossq_fac)
Is it safe to open the box > go straight into download mode > flash the newest VZW firmware via Odin?
Or are there other things I should do first? For example (in no particular order):
- first boot
- updating the software via settings
- flashing XAA firmware, THEN first boot with verizon sim already in phone per this thread, THEN flash VZW firmware
Thank you. Also any other suggestions are welcomed.

100% safe to immediately flash VZW firmware. The phone wont know any difference if you booted it first or not.

Thank you. And I just noticed this is the Note 10 forum not the 10+ forum (thanks google)...
What about concerns per the thread I linked where flashing VZW firmware is still recognized as a TMO device unless you boot the XAA firmware with the verizon sim before flashing the VZW firmware? Is that an old issue that's no longer a problem now?
The device won't mind that I'm jumping from an older version of Android to a newer version? What about the bootloader version, when does that get updated, as I understand it's currently on version 2 and how will that affect this process?
Thanks again, you post was short and being an $800 device I obviously am trying to have all my bases covered before messing with it.

you cannot go backwards in bootloader revisions, but you can go backwards in android versions as long as theyre on the same BL revision(not likely, but who knows? I didnt look yet). Also, the worst thing that could happen if you try to flash an older BL version is that itll fail in Odin and will still allow the phone to boot normally (usually, and if it doesnt, its still fixable). The only issue with booting it after flashing new firmware with your current sim is that itll install the carrier specific stuff on the phone so long as the CSC needed for that is in the multi CSC pack you flashed on the phone, and if it does install the carrier crap you dont want, just factory reset it and reboot with the actual sim you want you use
no problem man, thats what we are here for

S7 SM-G930V Need advice for a flash! I'm lost !

Hello,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 SM-G930V and I cannot receive and send MMS.
I am in France
I made several adjustments in the apn, but in vain.
So I want to flash the phone to see if it solves MMS problems.
Problem, I can't find the right files for the file.
I installed this one
https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-s7/firmware/SM-G930V/VZW/download/G930VVRSBCTC1/329889/
And that installed a VERIZON overlay and that wasn’t what I wanted at all and it didn’t solve my problems.
Can you tell me the right files without operator overlay?
thank you in advance
Hello
can you tell me that original firmware version to this phone?
thank you
Nobody knows ?
Your best bet would be flashing the G930U firmware, it's the generic non-carrier specific firmware intended for carrier unlocked phones. It would have the best chance working in Europe.

Make sure you flash all 4 files (AP, BL, CP, CSC), make sure you use CSC and not Home_CSC, this will wipe data but it will be necessary to fix your issues

It looks like you have an g930A (which is AT&T) as your PDA version, where it should be g930V or g930U. Make sure you download and flash all 4 files (BL, AP, CSC, CP). You can get the unbranded firmware from the same place you got the other at samobile. That is the G930U firmware.
Hello,
I come back to this subject late.
Here is the model number
Apparently it's an SM-G930V
Can I flash with this one?

thank you
Am I wrong or not?
Thank you

You cannot flash because the bootloader version is B11. Most threads don't mention the bootloader issue, either because the thread is old, or not enough people updated their firmware to experience the issue.
I started a thread about it here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/help/question-rev-b-11-bootloader-t4167637
