Older HTC Lockscreen? - Verizon HTC One (M8)

I've been playing around with a bunch of Roms, and the ones I like, all have the same issue. When I'm using Go SMS Pro, and I get a popup notification on the Lockscreen, I can click on open, which would normally unlock the phone, and take me to the Go SMS app. With the Roms I like, when I click on the open button of the popup, it closes the popup window, and then I have to manually unlock the phone. Of course the Roms I don't like, work the way I described in that when I click on open on the popup notification, it automatically unlocks the phone. When using those Roms I don't care for, if I updated the HTC Lockscreen through the Play Store, then the phone stopped unlocking automatically. I would go back into the HTC Lockscreen, and click on restore previous version, and all would be well. Obviously the newer Lockscreens are messing with Go SMS Pro, so is there a way I can install an older HTC Lockscreen on the ROM I do like?

you can simply pull the HTCLockScreen.apk from the ROM you don't like and use it on the ROM you do like.
system/priv-app/HTCLockScreen.apk
feel free to use my template http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2745680
to flash the app from ROM A to ROM B
ROM A = ROM you don't like but has the correct Lock Screen
ROM B = ROM you like but has Lock screen you don't like.

[Q] SMS Notifications with Sense Messaging app

I've found that I seem to prefer the stock htc messaging app over any others so far. When I use sense-less roms, I use GO SMS. Right now I'm trying to stick to stock messaging app as to maintain the sense look and feel across my device.
Everything seems good in the stock messaging app except one thing, I want the screen to turn on when I receive an sms message. Just so I can have a visual cue if I cannot hear/feel my phone when it's on vibrate. I've looked through all the settings I can think of but cannot find anything.
Is there a way to just make the screen light up for say 30 seconds with a preview of the text with the stock message app?

With the stock messaging app, no. Not that I have found anyways. Now...you can use SMSPopup. This is almost all the features you would find within GoSMS, but uses the stock app. Basically, it just adds extra features through it's own program, but for use on the stock app. Check it out, you'll probably like it a lot.

[Possible solution] Disable lockscreen on sensation

So i was thinking of disabling the ring lock screen on sensation so that when you turn on the screen, it takes you to home right away.
For now, there is no such an option to permanently disable it. But i realized that a lot of third-party software have this ability. For example, if u try Go SMS PRO, it gives u an option to pop up a window when you get a new txt which bypasses the lock screen, meaning that you will not see the ring lock screen when the phone is turned on.
So i am sure there is a way to tweak the sensation to get rid of the lock screen. At the very least, we can trace how GO SMS does this and make a small program or patch out of it....
but is there any one who knows how to do so?
Wait for CM7

Isn't there widget called "No lock" or something like that.... I thought that worked, not sure though, I do like that ring lockscreen.
Try this ?
I remember uninstalling a lockscreen on a sensless Rom thru titanium backup. Try it out but make sure to back it up first.

Correct. I've been using No Lock since my HD2. Works great.
I just turn it OFF using Elixir 'Lock' switch and then using the 'Lock Screen Widget' to soft OFF & can use volume or power button to turn ON
no lock works fine. but im wondering how much battery it drains while its running in the background....
Ders is a way to disable it. Go to system/app and look for htclockscreen.apk and rename it to htclockscreen.bck this disables it and give u the orignal android lockscreen and if u wish to go back to sense 3 lockscreen simply rename the .bck back to .apk

but i dont want any lock screens at all
I just downloaded the No Lock app and trying it out. It seems to work great for disabling the ring lock screen, at least it seems like I have found some a way to not have to fight to unlock my Sensation right now.
Does it also remove the PIN lock screen as well? I just want to get rid of the unnecessary ring screen, but still want security on my phone.

I just tested all three methods of security and yes with the pattern, pin, and password the No Lock disables all of them. So when you are using No Lock your device will not lock in any way unless you doable No Lock. Or if you use the lock widget it will look your device but it ask for administrative rights first.
Now there might be another app out there that will disable just the default lock screen but still allow you to use the pin, pattern, or the password. But if you still want some security you can try Smart App Protector (app lock). It is on the Android market and it is free. It allows you to lock any application you want to be secure with a pin, pattern, or password. I am about to test it out myself.
If you're using Android Revolution HD there are files you can flash to disable it
I tried No Lock, but nuked it after trying it out.
It had the function I wanted but had a bad (for me) sideeffect.
On incoming call, I reached down in my pocket and one or two of my
sausagefingers accidentally denied the call while picking the phone out
of my pocket. Everytime.
My Alzheimerbrain just could'nt remember to pick up the phone gently-ish.
So I'm doomed to be semibound by phone.

[Q] removing unlockscreen files

ok i been looking everywhere and cant find out how to remove the lockscreen files so it doesnt show up... i installed a lockscreen app (go locker) and once in a while it will make me have to unlock both lockscreens the defualt and the go locker.. and its really anoying and i just want to get rid of the original but apps loke no lock dont work they didnt help at all... i am rooted and am willing to do terminal commands if there are any for this... thank you for any help you guys offer...
Are you running a Rom with tsm parts?

I would love to know how to remove it as well
I remember seeing something about codes you can punch into the dialer to duo such a thing. I can't seem to locate the link right now though

Maybe try this and once started install your lock screen?
Lockscreen: Agile Lock(has a free & paid version; paid is $1) - I would HIGHLY recommend this lockscreen for anyone who doesn't like the AOSP/Puzzle/Glass or just wants to use the HTC sense lockscreen(you know, the ring that has shortcuts and such). If you do choose this route you would need to follow the Androidcentral guide(http://forums.androidcentral.com/dro...en-charge.html) to remove your current lockscreen because all this app does is add a second lock to your phone, so you would need to unlock your phone twice if you want to get in. Before you do that BE WARNED this removes not only your lockscreen but your power button menu as well(you know, when you hold the power button to restart and boot into recovery). Instead it just powers your phone off, you can always re-enable your lockscreen very easily using the same guide so there's nothing to fear. This app has TONS of customization and is far superior to the zero customization the AOSP/stock locks have. I'd say the only issue this app has is the fact that you can't go to silent/sound like you can with the AOSP. Added picture(s).
Got that from here.

I do not know is this is the same link as posted above, but this works, the only problem I have is that if you hold the power button to long it turns you phone off. Takes so getting used to, but the lock screen is history after you do this.
Entering that dialer code is one of the first things I do after flashing any ROM.
That works with ANY ROM & completely eliminates the totally useless annoying unlock screen.
Like the previous poster mentioned, it does take a little getting used to so you don't accidentally turn the phone off with the power button by holding it down too long.

Vibrate pattern

I used to have my phone give me a 3 quick vibrate pattern for incoming text and other notifications. (System Settings>>Sound)
But now I don't have any of those options (or can't find it). Anyone know off hand where that is or how to get it back?
I believe I may have switch Messaging programs....think i flashed either AOKP or CM10 and was on the other previously.
If that's what made that change I'll flash back if someone knows.
I'm currently on Eclipse build 4...with justin860's 4.1.2 inverted apps.
thanks,
I'm on Jelly Bean's Rom Build 6 and I have the same issue (and I believe stock has this issue too). There doesn't seem to be any way to get a different vibration pattern for text messages on stock messaging app that I've found. :/
It is the cm10 mms. Inside there you get the choice, plus it has the quickview quick reply option popup which is real nice.
is it possible to flash cyanogenmod 10 sms app (or is there an apk?) without the full rom? edit: yes it is but it doesn't work on the rom I use (bean's rom build 6)

yeah I'd think it would work on any aosp rom like aokp or cm10 ....but not a tw rom like beans.
I made a fix for this problem (I'd post directly to my reddit thread but I can't yet post outside links so I'll just copy the text):
"So one of my biggest annoyances (pretty much my only annoyance) when I first got my GS3 was that the SMS notification for the stock SMS app is always a long single vibration rather than two brief ones (two differentiate it from a call vibration). I searched but all the solutions I could find involved battery-eating third party apps just for customizing notifications which I didn't want or third-party sms apps which I didn't want.
So I decided to roll my own solution. I bought Tasker and set up a new profile. Here are the instructions to set up this profile if you're new to Tasker:
Create a new profile with the [+] button.
For the Context, you want "Event" then "Phone" then "Received Text" and then click the check mark.
Then for the Task, you want "Alert" then "Vibrate Pattern." Here you have some options. You enter patterns in the format "#,#" where the first number (in milliseconds) is how long to wait before starting to vibrate, then the second is how long (in milliseconds) to vibrate for, and then you can add more to pause more and then vibrate more. I use "0,300,250,300" which means immediately vibrate for 300 milliseconds, then wait 250 milliseconds, then vibrate 300 milliseconds again.
Then just make sure you disable the vibration built into the stock sms app: go to your sms list, his the menu key, then settings, then scroll down to notification settings and uncheck "Vibrate."
And you're done!"

[Q] Removing stock lockscreen widget

Does anybody know how to remove the stock sense widget on the lockscreen? I can put my own widgets on other pages but I can't remove the stock sense widget on the main page. Frustrating. Does anybody know how to do this? Or is it possible? I want to use dash clock.
I am curious about this as well and have not been able to find any info about altering the lock screen widget as stated above.
same here. Would like to get that nonsense off my lockscreen
I saw a post in another thread with a screenshot of a very clean lock screen, I have not found it yet though.

If you find it let us know. It might have been for a custom ROM, since the lock screen on stock in blinkfeed based I would assume flashing a ROM and not running blinkfeed would allow the us to change this BUT ideally I want to stay stock (with s-off/root) if I can, so here's hoping something can be worked out.

You should be aware that to use SlideLock you'll need to go to Settings > Security > No Lock Screen, or you'll slide your LS and then the Sense one is right underneath. Also, music controls don't work with SlideLock at this time.

I downloaded this and tried it too and the first thing I did notice was that it was just running over the default lock screen which is what I was hoping to avoid by just altering the default one to suite my needs. It is clean and simple though and I cant imagine it causing too much slow down, a lot of the options are locked though for a pro version that costs $2.73.

Unfortunately I cannot set that due to outlook group policy at my firm. However, after the first two times or so the original lock screen that was behind slide lock is now gone, which is great and unexpected. I will go to the official thread and look for this answer now but how can I disable wifi notifications on the lock screen? I blacklisted "system" and only allow a few apps but this continues to pop up, sometimes more than a handful at at a time.
