Lolipop notification drawer on Kitkat - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have been using Cyanogen OS 12 on my OPO for sometime now but it really eats my battery alot. I used to get 6+hrs of SOT on KK but now i'm not even getting 3hrs of SOT. I would like to go back to KK but I like the Lolipop UI. Especially the notification drawer animation. Is there anyway I could get Lolipop drawer to a Kitkat ROM with the pull down animation and all? I can root the phone once I flash a KK ROM. Any ideas?

It isn't possible, it's part of the system UI.

Can't I atleast get that pull down animation on KK?

LoL i would like to know to. one method i use is i flash xxkpe, root and wipe data etc... install rom...wipe data, cache and dalvik and reboot but it only seems to work with cm10 A9 builds :/ Current rom slimbean 10.2 A2. epic but hate the batter drain. i wonder if using the media sync, battery database from stock GB rom and merging it with JB builds is possible. then again im a newbie and i dont know **** lol

what i mean is:
Use XXKPQ stock firmware as base (then root)
Calibrate battery apps from playstore (dunno if that works)
install custom rom EHNDROIX which is excellent on battery life but has a few flaws
all in all i dont think custom roms + good battery life go or else samsung wouldve updated our phones with ics/JB but our phones are too poor to handle the newer software so if u want good battery life then stick to stock firmware or gingerbread-based custom roms
10.2 A2 10 hrs. Still good. Sometimes it survives only 6 hrs. I fall down to 10.1 A9 Liquid smooth only for the battery. Tonight gonna test the A3. Let's see what is waiting with A3. Hope the best.

10hour sucks since it dies so quick when im out, how long does the battery last on liquid smooth rom?
Normal use over 20hrs with 10.1 A9 Liquid smooth. 10.2 till not giving good battery life. Only half a day life. Never mind, god dhiru will fix it just in time.

Very long battery life with CM10 Alpha 4 with Alpha 11 kernel v4 about 12-16 hours, but CM10.1 Alpha 9 only 6-8 hours. (Not sleep, Wi-Fi, gaming, 3G, calling)
hey guys i think Losco rom is the best till now also Losco is working hard to keep this rom updated so big thanks to him

how long does it last?
I am also looking for a stable Android 4.1 or 4.2 ROM for my i9003, I don't want too-many features but the ROM should be light and should have all basic features like wifi / calling / keyboard working.
I have noticed that all 4.1 or 4.2 ROMs heat up the phone as our hardware is old and the basic hardware requirement for these ROM is higher.
If a lighter ROM can be prepared with basic functionality then the battery should also last.
10.2 A3 is good for battery. do a clean flash and let the system to stabilize...

My battery could be old but the same battery works for 12hrs when using stock ROM.
Also response is slow, maybe if I can find out all unwanted services I could remove then to speed up the phone.

You won't have the same battery duration with a custom ROM. ICS and JB needs more resources and battery drain faster. If you need battery duration, try with a GB ROM.

[Q] cyanogenmod vs stock

I would like to know that if cyanogenmod performs better on moto g3 than stock or it's worse? I previously used xperia sp and official cyanogenmod was worse on it than stock.
In every way CM is 100% better than stock rom....
Sent from my MotoG3 using Tapatalk
Has anybody run any benchmarks (like Antutu) on CM for this device? I have not seen any yet.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uSrK1Xv_SBI - The animations on the stock Moto G definitely seem way smoother than mine and apps seem to open faster as well. I'm running Cyanogenmod 12.1 latest nightly with Blu_Spark kernel.
edit: Actually no, my apps open faster than both devices but the animations still look smoother. I'm running Nova Launcher tho (with stock animations), not sure if the launcher messes up with the animation frames tho.

Not for me. I reverted back to stock. I tried cm12.1 and aosp for a week and stock seems to be the best in both performance and battery life

Great question, even I was wondering if CM 12.1 (unofficial) is better than stock or not.

You lose some of the stock features like quick memo and slide aside, but I think it's worth it for the improved UI (cleaner/less cluttered) and performance. Double tap to wake and sleep still works. Cm also has better themes that can change boot animation, on screen buttons, etc.

Yeah, you need to use gapps that match the Android version of the ROM. I suggest 5.1 open gapps. I can't post links yet. You can find the open gapps by searching for CyanogenMod gapps.

Any special requirement needs to be taken care off before flashing this CM ROM?
I've seen many people reported issue when coming from other versions of ROM or other ROMs.
custom recovery version? bootload version? bootcode or whatever it might be?

Need explanation for kitkat roms's weird bug

I have been trying kitkat (cm11, aokp, aospa) recently and I was amazed by its performance. However I noticed that after using it like 30 minutes this bug happens: turn screen off and turn it back on right after that it takes like 10 secs or even more than that for the screen to wake. It is just annoying. I wonder if this happens because I move to kitkat from custom rom or it is a bug. Kitkat development is stopped for a long time but it seems like no one had such problem when they commented on kitkat threads. Can anyone help me?

[Request][D855][MM] AOSP look for stock rom

Hello, I am using android marshmallow stock rom (v30b) and I wonder if there is any way to get the pure android look on it (AOSP).
I've tried some themes but there's nothing like the AOSP look.
I also tried some ROMs on my phone like CM13 but the battery is draining too fast.
Is there any way I can get the AOSP look on my phone (notifications panel, lock screen etc..)
If not, what is the best stable ROM (AOSP) for my phone (D855) with the best battery life?
