Hi guys
I was wondering do you know if there are any sticker type film for the rear camera lens to protect the camera lens from scratches?
thx
Just make one from a screen protector
I remember many years back I purchased a few packet of phone camera lens protector, containing about 20-25 pieces of different sizes.
Not sure if it's available.
But I can check it out.

That is what I am planning to do. Will it affect the clarity of the output?

In theory it should, but i had used protection films on my phone camera lens before and I could not see any difference in the photo quality.

I just want to know if the camera lens cover is replaceable.
I always have a far that it will get scratched and ill be stuck with talking pictures that have a big line through them. I liked the g1 on how it was part of the battery back, so if something happen to it i could just get another back. but on the g2 its kinda build it.
So wanted to know if it could be replaced some how.
IDK but it looks like a seperate piece to me(camera/flash covers and bezel). It might just pop out if you slip a tiny screwdriver between it and the back case half, or the back case half has to come off first.
Idk just hope mines never gets scratched or they make some replacement ones

I agree completely, I'm wondering if the ZAGG full protection covers that tiny lens glass piece ?? Can anyone confirm because ZAGG has a cover called "Full Body Maximum Coverage for $24.99".
Unless it is a high quality piece of glass, any cheap plastic will affect the quality of the camera images.

Full Body does not. Perhaps the Maximun, but i really doubt it, I believe it's only corners.
While looking for a new screen protector, I found this:
http://www.overlayplus.com/US/MFOP-HTCDesireZ
It has a small screen protector that protects the camera
Nice!!! Those will be my next screen protectors.

I ordered the overlay plus sets so I'll let you guys know what I think. But any modern optical device is filled with plastic lens coatings. With the possible exception of these tiny phone cameras, I'd bet the image sensor and primary lens is one piece of plastic.
These cameras suck anyway, if I want a quality image I'll hump my Nikon DSLR around.
BTW it's lens has 5-10 plastic lens coatings in it to control dispersion, reflectivity, etc.
i have the overlay plus and if u put it on correctly ie no dust under... it looks no difference and did not affect the quality of the pics tat was taken.

geez $10 for shipping. i know it's fedex and all but they could easily ship usps for half the price with tracking.
Did anyone notice that, unlike the GS6 and other Galaxies before it, the S7 and S7 Edge don't have the plastic film that covers both the camera and heart sensor lenses when you first got it? Some people take them off when they got the phone, but I left it on there on my GS6 to protect the camera lense from scratches.
Just wanted to know whether someone has noticed this on their phones as well?
U are anyways suppose to remove them.

That plastic makes photos you take worse because it reflects lights to the camera in a way that it is undesirable. You bought a phone with a fantastic camera. Why would you leave a thing like this attached to it?
Besides, the camera glass is Gorilla. Heart hate sensor is a cheap one. And if you use any kind of case, you can put your phone on the table and the camera glass will never touch table directly.
Enjoy your phone. I know it is not cheap, but it is just a phone.

Thanks, appreciate your feedback
Even if it did have that plastic on it and you left it on, it'd get scratched up pretty quickly. If you wanted some kind of protection though, you could try d-brand skins. They cover the glass on the camera lens, leaving only a small opening for the aperture (although I don't know how much "give" there is for the OIS function), but that could still get damaged. Personally, I just have a case, front screen protector and that's it.

i think it wont efect cuz i had xperia z2 wich had plastic cover on top of camera and it was sratched a bit but it didnt degrade picture quality but after some time i somehow managed to scratch the polarized coating and i emediatly saw some issues...the pictures were very bright becouse of that...but since our XZ uses a glass instead of plastic i think we are fine as long we dont scratch it deliberately.also todays T-shirts are more or less filled with syntetic material wich of course scratches glass like nothing...hehe i know that cuz i wear glasses

I'd hope so since it's only the area where the other sensors are located not the main one on top.
Hello all!
My S7 is two weeks old and last night I noticed that there is something like a small film covering the flash, and it seems like it has started to detach ! Please have a look at the attached photo.
Anyone knows what this could be and if I should be worried ?
Thanks in advance.

It's just the protective plastic cover you get over any lenses on a new phone, take it off
Check there's not one over the camera lens too

It was a protective film on the heart rate monitor lens. I removed it.
I don't think the camera lens has anything in it... (not 100% sure, though).

Try with a finger nail. It won't hurt tha hard glass. If there's a protective plastic, it will make the pictures you take worse.

lol no probs, if you can't easily see and feel a one over the camera lens it's probably already come off

Ok, great. I tried with my fingernail and I did not get the feeling that there is something also over the camera lens. Thank you all for the feedback.

Best I've found so far
Placing a whatever glass protector in front of the camera, won't it affect the photo quality? Blurriness, extra light flares etc?

I'm sure the glass will make some distortion, but I have not notice anything.
Attached 3 different photos taken with the glass
