Disable Camera Shutter Sound - howto - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi @ll!
Had a S4 a got my new S6 today.
Tried the same "hack" to disable the Camera Shutter Sound like i did with my S4:
download Root Browser
navigate to
system/csc
open others.xml with RB Editor
adding new line
<CscCamera_Shutter_Sound_Menu>true</CscCamera_Shutter_Sound_Menu>
BEFORE </FeatureSet>
Save and restart Phone.
Open Camera - Settings - last line there you can find the ShutterSound!

Easier to use CSC Feature Expert for Samsung. No mistakes to mess up your phone.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ma.wanam.cscexpert
EDIT: Stock camera has option to turn off shutter sound in it. Even easier

UH!
didn´t knew that tool!

I'm trying to think why you don't just use the option that's already there.

My stock camera didn't have the option to turn of the shutter sound. But I did manage to get this option by "CSC Feature Expert for Samsung".
That was the only thing that worked for me!
SilentCam Switch only did the trick temporary, not permanently.
Root Browser also didn't work for me.

Will Screen Write, Image Clip and Smart Select work on Note 3?

Hi guys
Just wondering does Screen Write, Image Clip and Smart Select work on Note 3 as well?
Or it is dedicated to Note 4 only?
I would love to see it works on Note 3.
Thanks.

i love the feature "Image Clips" idea that can allow us to copy several images at one time and paste to other apps easily.
can we achieve this with easy steps in Note 3 by any tweaks or 3rd party apps?
is it achievable for the developers to import this feature to Note 3 someday?
I'm not sure what the image clip feature is, but it sounds like this.. i took a few screenshots and they go to my clipboard so i can paste them.

Also, you wouldn't believe how hard it was to get that screenshot.
Had to press the button on the screen to select it and then the power and home button at the same time for the screenshot, i got it after 4 or 5 failed attempts

I dont know that too.
It looks like this button is only embed into the native input method.
If I change the input method downloaded from Google play.
I doubt it if it's still there.
Here is a demo for smart select and image clips.
Starts from 2:04 - 2:08

Thanks for your input.
I guess I will stick with Note 3 and save the money for Gear S and Sony QX-30.

Thanks my brothers.. Enjoy
The mod does work, unfortunately i can't enable voice recording while calling. The option is greyed out, not sure if i have to enable some setting, but i guess it has to do with the country.
Any way to enable this setting?
Maybe i missed something.

That's too bad. It could come in handy to record business calls.
There's no way to override this restriction?

Sorry. No idea bro.
Could you add an option to remove voice mail notification. I get a lot of spam calls in class and they leave random voice mails

Later
So i just got a call and then got bored, because my girlfriend kept whining.
I then realized i could enable call recording strangely enough. The option wasn't greyed out anymore.
After ending the call it said 'call recorded', so it worked!
Don't know what or how, it magically worked.

Match Criteria Option missing in Auto Reject List

I can’t find the „Match Criteria“ in Auto reject list, so that I can block with the “Starts with” option numbers.
I can only enter a number and press the + symbol.
Is this Match Criteria Option removed on Android 5.0.2 or Samsung S6?
Am I the only one missing this option?
Everybody else, with 5.0.2 have this option?

Well, unfortunately, Samsung removed those options. It was bothering me too, so I coded a solution.. It needs root and is a bit complicated at the moment. Good news is that, it works with Samsung way and no 3rd party blocker.
Match Criteria
Hi, do you publish your solution or have any tutorial on how to enable "Match Criteria" in Block numbers? I have a Galaxy S7 Edge with Android 7.0 Rooted.
Thanks for any help.

I was directly editing the database file but after Lollipop, Samsung started to ignore those options as well. Send me a screenshot of your block numbers page with a random number like 1234 added and I will tell you if it will work for you.
Match Criteria
Hi and thanks for the fast replay. Here are a ScreenShot of my "Block numbers" page.
I have SQLite Editor pro installed if it comes handy to achieve the task.

Yeah, just as I suspected, it won't work. The Lollipop version still had the match criteria(like starts with etc) written under the number although it provided no means of entering this data. So you could edit the db file and change these criteria.

If you still would like to give it a try edit:
/data/data/com.android.phone/databases/autoreject.db file.
the screenshot is for "includes" criteria.
I'll give it a try and report back if it works or not. Thanks for the support!

[help] picture-in-picture bug-maybe idk i can't disable it... it's annoying

hey i recently upgraded to a72 so idk if it's a samsung issue or an new android version issue
or somthing else
but when i'm in a app and there's a notification for some other app such as youtube or whatsapp or...
and i try opening it out of habit
it opens a small floating windows which i assume is a pip
however i disabled it in the phone's settings
but it still opens it ?!
and then i have to minimize everything and the window minimizes to a small floating buttion
it's purely an annnoying "feature" i want nothing to do with
any help?
to be clear my isn't rooted YET
i generally don't root a new phone until some time has passed to make sure it dosen't just burnout
and the worranty is voided -but that depends on the phone aswell so far unrooted for the mostpart satisfies me.. not ideal but...
but i'm plaing on rooting and flashing a new rom soon -i guess when the updates stop/slow down
couple of months maybe a year
i disablesd such things as bixbit
with adb
should bot be related but idk maybe there's a issue with somthing i disabled
anyway any help is appriciated
even if i neeed to root the phone to solv this please do offer support becusee somone else might have a similar issue
in my case this obviously dosen't matter since a good rom should get ride of this issue
and if i gotta break knox then...
anyway any help is appriciated thanks ahead
Your issue is much more simpler than you think buddy.
It's called multi window, you can disable it in settings or app settings. Just search "multi" in settings, if you don't find it then look for it in the app settings.
If you still can't disable it maybe there is an app to do the job for you (Probably would need the root permission) if not then just flash a custom ROM.

Like I said, it's literally called "Multi window" and again if you can't find it then you can't disable it and you'll have to flash a new ROM.
There is a workaround tho not sure if it will work for you, an app called "Custom navigation bar" install it and disable tab button and multi window stops.
If it doesn't work, then maybe there's an option in developer options called "Force activities to be resizable" disable it if it's enabled.
If that also doesn't work, the only solution for you other than flashing a new ROM is editing the app manifest, just look up this line android:resizeableActivity="false" in the activity tag or application tag, for obvious reasons you'll need root permissions to do that.
Or maybe Samsung SDK can do that,
XML:
<meta-data android:name="com.samsung.android.sdk.multiwindow.enable" android:value="false" />
<meta-data android:name="com.samsung.android.sdk.multiwindow.multiinstance.enable"
android:value="false" />
<meta-data android:name="com.samsung.android.sdk.multiwindow.penwindow.enable"
android:value="false" />
Goodluck.
