I tried a fresh install of 03JUL15 and when I play terarria when I push down my finger on the display the character goes crazy. I had thought it was Xposed that was installed, so I did a fresh install and just setup the phone. I went into developer options and enabled show touches, and when I hold down my finger it shows phantom touches all over the screen. I did a full wipe and tried the oldest nightly I had (June 24) and it does it as well. This is with a fresh install, every time.
Is this just me? Does anyone know a solution?
Thanks.

it's stupid question, but did you wipe off the screen? some digitizers are pretty sensitive to oils and can make phantom touches.

I've had similar phantom touches happen in CM when the phone is plugged in to one of my chargers. I haven't noticed it when it's not plugged in though.

Hello,I bought a HTC Desire S around 4 months ago.
From past 2 days i have lot of problems with it.
1.Home screen button not working
2.Q,A keys are not working while typing(they work when i rotate the screen)
3.Wen i rotate the screen and start typing the whole keys on the least bottom dont work.
4.Sometimes if i press back key it goes to selection option...sometimes whole phone hangs.
5.Im not able to download from market...after i click download it shows downlading icon but it never starts download.
I made factory reset for couple of times but no use.
Any one have some suggestions?
numbers 1 to 4 seem like some sort of problem with your touchscreen... Have you tried wiping it with some clean cloth after breathing on it? My back button has some issues registering touches once in a while, but wiping it helps always
Regarding 5, I don't know really, but have you tried using the webmarket?

ya i tried wiping it but not working
Does the area where your Q and A keys are when in portrait work when the keyboard is not on? Can you use it to click items, scroll webpages etc?
One other thing you could try is the calibrate option for the keyboard. (somewhere in settings-> languages I think, it's been a while since I ran an Sense ROM).
If both yield no result, it sounds like a hardware issue to me, and you might be best of to invoke your warranty.
anyone having the same problem?
i enabled the setting and installed swype, then played a game for a while and thereafter i get as far as the cancel/install window and when i try to tap install it does absolutely nothing. it doesn't even highlight to show that my finger is on it; although the cancel button works perfectly! :silly:
edit: scratch that!
i waited til i got home to post this and it's working now... but it was happening exactly as described above. if you experience this be avoided that it will fix itself! rebooting did not fix it earlier though... just time apparently.
Hi - I have tried multiple Lollipop based ROMs on my OPO. All the Lollipop ROMs have exhibited the same failure on my OPO: When the phone wakes up, I will randomly see a totally black - and basically unusable - desktop, but have a fully working Status Bar and working pull-down Navigation Bar. Holding the power button also brings up the shut-down options. so, I know that my phone isn't dead or frozen, I just can't see anything on my desktop. If I press the power button momentarily to lock the phone, I will see the unlock 3x3 pattern grid when I power on, and I can unlock the phone - but, I see a black desktop.
I recently loaded the official CM12 nightlies, and I am seeing the exact same thing. One thing I have finally determined (which I suspected previously), is that there was some sort of App crash during the phone sleep that had a pop-up message on the screen when the phone woke up. After a lot of random finger mashing and loud screaming at the phone, I saw my desktop again, and saw that "Google App" had crashed. After clearing the error pop-up, my phone has worked fine without rebooting ... for now.
The problem with this is that the black desktops become more frequent as time progressed, eventually reaching the point where I would reboot my OPO and it would power up to a black desktop. In the past, I occasionally saw a flash that looked like a pop-up message before the black desktop, and now I have confirmed that is what is happening.
Does anybody know what is going on?
The problem can be the gapps package you're flashing. Try another one.

Thanks! Do you have a suggested gapps I should try? I loaded pa_gapps-modular-mini-5.0.1-BETA7-20150111a-signed with this build.
Hello guys, I'm running Marshmallow on my OPO with SultanRom, today when I woke up I realized that the capacitive buttons don't work, if I try to press it tens of times or like drag my finger on it it sometimes works, It's like the touch is off in that area, I flashed the latest update for my ROM and wiped cache and dalvik but the issue still remains, what should I do?
Also it's like the calibration off or something, is there a way to re-calibrate that?
Just done a full wipe, It's still the same...
And when I touch a little bit up of the buttons it sometimes works
So basically, around 2-3 weeks ago my phone's screen started acting up. Usually it'd take me two tries when turning the screen on to actually get the touch screen working. As in, I turned the screen off, the touch screen doesn't register any touches, then I shut the screen down and try again, and it sometimes works. Now, this didn't bother me - I though, maybe there's some short circuiting, it may fix itself. Fast forward 2 days later. my touch screen now needs minimum 3 tries to work, up to 9 or 10 sometimes. Note that when my touchscreen starts working, it works without a problem, all 5 fingers until the screen is shut down. Then I did something that COMPLETELY broke it - I restarted my phone. The touch screen never worked then. Like ever. I could try 100 times and it wouldn't work. I'd take out the battery, let it reset nice and **** - it doesn't work. So the next thing I did was a factory reset in recovery - the phone is restored to functionality before restarting it. Now, I didn't shut down my phone for 2 weeks, nor did it run out of battery - it's the same. Today, I've restarted it and the same problem occurred again - touchscreen completely unresponsive. So, I did the same thing as before, only this time I tested dalvik-cache and cache separately - none worked in any combination without a factory reset - at this point, I'm already certain the problem is in the software, and not the hardware. So, guess what - phone was restored to functionality with 2-3 tries after that reset. Then - an even more peculiar thing - I've enabled the touch gestures to turn on a screen. Most of the time when the screen turns on with a double tap, the password screen reacts to touch, but there are cases when I double tap, it opens, and then it doesn't work - it doesn't register touches. Most of the time, though, it doesn't even open the screen through the double tap. I've also noticed that it would sometimes happen when running - for an example, I play a lot of Cytus and Deemo - whenever there would be a break of more than 2 seconds between taps, if I didn't tap in between (so, when there are no beats to hit), it would sometimes completely ignore the next tap, as if the digitizer turned its touch detection off due to inactivity...
At this point, I have no idea what it is. I know that it's not the proximity sensor which I had originally suspected, and I know that the problem lies somewhere inside Android data folders or something a factory reset wipes. However, I have no idea where. My phone has been rooted and runs xposed, although I haven't used it since the reset - I wanted to flash a custom rom but found none other than Mstars 5.0 fresh install ROM. So, if anyone recognizes this problem, can I fix it with a new ROM flashed? Can I fix it by finding the **** that's causing this and always delete it at startup via script? Or should I just attempt to fix my phone in a repair shop?
