I am looking for HTC Desire S digitizer replacement, because mine is pretty scratched from previous owner. Of course I will buy it from ebay, but I am wondering am I looking for right digitizer?
For example: http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Touch-S...ultDomain_0&hash=item27bc37a0c0#ht_3927wt_952
Digitizers list: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trk...tpos=&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14.l1513&gbr=1&_pgn=1
Will this one fit for me perfectly? I am little confused, because looking for my phone ebay shows me digitizers for HTC Desire S S510E G12, and so far I know that's dual card chinese copy...

it should be ok. But i'm always wary of stuff that comes from Hong Kong (no offence to anyone and yes i understand most of the cheap stuff from UK sellers is the same thing)
Also this one seems better because the tools are free with it: http://www.ebay.com/itm/DIGITIZER-T...939?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a19160cf3
And you can forget Gorilla Glass , you will get cheap plastic digitizer...

the actual glass and the digitizer are two different things. So if it's just the digitizer, that's fine
i agree, i would be cautious ordering from hong kong on ebay as i have many times had issues with sellers when ordering phone parts..
I am not wondering about buying parts from ebay/HK this time as will it be allright for my phone...

Oh, I didn't even realise that. Will there be any noticable difference from original digitizer now on my Desire S and that one selling @ ebay for 10-15$ ?

well the last time i changed the digitizer was with the iphone 3g. The replacement was a cheap £10 one and to be honest i could not tell the difference.

are you saying that over this digitizer screen we have one more protecting glass ?
then there is no reason to OP change digitizer

If i'm correct it usually works like this: lcd--gorilla glass--digitizer and they're all glued together.
If you follow a tutorial such as this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FaawEVWZvG4 you should be good.
I think Gorilla glass is what you touching wit you fingers (scratch protection for digitizer) and front glass with digitizer is in one part as in picture posted before. So if you buy cheap china touch screen - you will get digitizer with plastic on top. As I said - you can forget Gorilla Glass front lens.

Dont mean to jump on someone else's thread but didnt see the point of making a new one. im getting a lot of ghosting/ image bleed. would it be a digitizer replacement i need? if so is it easy to replace and could i use my existing glass as it is in really good nick.
hello everybody, some days ago my nexus s fall down and the glass has broken. everything works touch lcd etc, but is too broken and i have to replace it. i asked to a technique, he only found the screen+glass piece, but is about 100 € it don't worth it ...
is it possible to change the glass only ??? where can i find a cheap broken nexus to take the glass or the screen+ghlass to replace it on mine ???
i don't want to abandon my nexus s

i can't find anything at less then 50 € delivered from china Oo
Hello everybody!
Yesterday evening I dropped my phone and broke the digitizer. The LCD still works perfectly, though.
Has anybody bought a digitizer recently? How much should I pay for one? I'd rather spend as less as possible, but have a decent /good quality replacement.
Thanks in advance
EDIT: The reason of this question is that I am afraid of ending up buying a defective replacement and come across stupid behaviours like lag ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=27948877 ) or partial unresponsiveness.
I've spotted some <10 euros shipped digitizers from China and Hong Kong on ebay like this ( http://www.ebay.com/itm/HTC-Desire-...tizer-Lens-Glass-S510e-Adhesive-/310722093025 ), would they be suitable (they seem veeery cheap).
There are some on amazon as well ( http://www.amazon.co.uk/DESIRE-REPL...K7GA/ref=aag_m_pw_dp?ie=UTF8&m=A37V4Y5C680M31 ), I would be likely to buy this one, but maybe someone with more experience than me will point me in the right direction

It's better to ask a offline store dealer about the exact replacements for your phone... Then you will know what kind of digitizer u need... I was Askin for a touch replacement for a friend and got to know that our device gets touch panel & lcd together so better check n purchase!

Another question for the ones that have changed the digitizer only, any advice? I heard that there is the risk of having ghost touches. What should I do to avoid them?

Do it right and slowly and you'll be fine. Make sure you use tape between the LCD and Touch Screen when you replace it. And don't cover the sensors.

Yep, that's the one. It's very easy to impair the way it works if you don't line the tape up correctly when you replace the screen.

Ok, I'll be careful about aligning them. Is the sensor one piece with the lcd or is it a separate part? I am mainly worried about sticking the lcd and the digitizer together, i think that i can solve any problems disassembling the phone a second time. Do you suggest changing the adhesive for the screen? If so, can you suggest which tape should I buy? I read on sensation forums that the digitzer touching directly the body of the phone can cause ghost touches/unresponsive areas on the touch screen. Is that true?
Thanks you all for your answers, I appreciate that

The sensor is within the LCD screen, but I think it may be a physically separate part (it's been a while since I took my DS apart).
You should always fully remove all traces of the old tape and replace with new - search on Amazon or eBay for "2mm double-sided tape"
I never encountered 'ghost' touches, and you shouldn't either if you replace it correctly.
Ok, thanks. How much did you pay for your replacement part? Did it feel like the original?

I can't remember exactly, it was somewhere round the £20 mark and it did the job just perfectly.
remember to check which panel you are getting, nobody here likes to have the MDDI panel.

LCD or touchscreen?
I was lucky, my LCD is still intact. I only have to change the digitizer. It is the LCD which can be MDDI, right?

You can buy a bundle, but it's much cheaper to get the touch-screen on its own and fit it yourself.

Hi, I have a doubt. I'm on the repair, but I don't really know which tape is the best for this repair and for the GSII I'm doing next (and the ones in the future). Is this one fine or, if not, can you suggest a suitable one?
Hi,
I have touch screen problem in my S4. But LCD is working properly. I searched for digitizer alone. Couldn't get anywhere.
Suggest where can I get digitizer alone online.
Regds,

The lcd is the digitiser... I think. You want the top glass... its about £15 delivered from amazon

Yep. Our screens our fancy (actually several iterations of the Galaxy screens are) since Samsung has the digitizer built in to the LCDs.
I accidentally dropped it and the front glass got broken but the touchscreen is still working how much it will cost to repair it? I contact htc now but still they didn't response to email and phone calls thanks!

You just have to buy a digitizer because you have a lcd which is working. But there is a problem, when i dropped my device like you, phone service told me to not to only buy digitizer and i bought lcd assembly digitizer which is on the upper post. So firstly contact to service then order what you need.
Last, as you know, butterfly has different versions. This means you should be sure if the digitizer will fit your device. I had ordered a digitizer for x920d but it didn't fit. Taiwan version of butterfly is a bit longer than the others.
