[Completed] HTC ONE M8 (Some Issues) - XDA Assist

Hello,
I recently bought M8 and it took almost 4-5 hrs to fully charge and battery also didn't last that much not even half day.
and the shopkeeper told me it was original but after using it 2-3 days. I found traces of at the sides of the screen. traces like glue like substance and little scratches. (a bit down from the top cornors.)
Wanna know how to know whether it is refurbished or not.
And at lolipop update its antutu benchmark is about 44k.
And when at full sound only very few times the speaker sound cracks for a sec at the start of music.
and even mp4 video file format doesn't play with the system player but plays with MX.
How to differentiate orignal or not.. tried ##786# *#*#786#*#* both shows nothing and tried launcher pro and it also doesn't shows hidden menus RTN.
is there other way.. please guidance needed.

[Completed] [Q] Problems with a Monster M7

Howdy, y'all; trying to find information about my Monster M7 tablet.
I bought it last December when Walmart offered it for $100. Sounded like a good deal, considering the brand.
Like many others who bought one, my M7 has been problematic. After installing the latest firmware update from Monster (at the mymonstertablet.com/faq page), I'm now able to use all 16GB of installed memory (less that required by the O/S). OK; some progress.
After having purchased a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 (8" screen; I like it) lately for about the same price as the M7, I'll only use the M7 as a Chromecast controller, an OBD-II code reader, and to test EPUB docs that I develop. And maybe coupla apps before I completely forget how to build Java code.
However, until I solve the battery problem, it's mostly unusable. Even though the battery indicator shows fully charged, the M7 boots but only runs for coupla minutes before it quits. It runs correctly if a power adapter is connected to the microUSB socket.
I've read about /data/system/batterystats.bin, but this post indicates that deleting the file won't have the effect that some Android users think:
http://www.xda-developers.com/andro...-battery-stats-does-not-improve-battery-life/
Where should I post about this Monster M7 problem?
Thanks much.
Please note, if Battery continues to give trouble, deleting BatteryStats will not help. you have a defective battery.
Please post in Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting so that the right experts may be of help.

Thanks much for your reply. I'll repost at "Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting." I've filed a warranty claim with Monster. No response yet.

[Completed] Am i doing anything wrong with BatteryCalibration? ... it doesn't seem to be working.

Hi people!
This is my first thread here on the community, so feel free to tell what i did wrong =)
A couples of weeks i bought a LG G Pad 8.0 (Yeah i should have go for the 8.3 but here on Chile wasn't on stock)
The thing is that everything was fine ... i read all the books i was able to, and played a lot of HearthStone :')
Then i started to get into the Root stuff so i did it with Towel Root
I downloaded the APP did the whole thing and everything was done right (At least what i was able to see)
just a week after the root process, the battery (Or at least the Stats) started to get weird...
The main problem is that whenever i restart the device, even if i let it charging all the night and shows that it is at 100% of his capacity. when boot shows that it haves less than 20%!!
The thing was just telling me that the battery was complete and with a single reboot it losses all his charge?! C'mon! :'/
By my research this has two possibilities:
Hardware Problems or the BatteryStats.Bin get corrupted.
The first one is just ... well not quite possible ... i mean, if it is a "Technical" problem, What was the cause? Why now? ... i can't open the tablet to see the battery but it doesn't have problems with the temperature.
And the BatteryStats stuff... well .... the most "Common" solution is to download the app "Battery Calibration" and just follow the instruction ... well i did it ... Twice! Plus some "Tips" from guys on the internet (Notice the " " )
but it doesn't seem to be working =( ... the main problem is still on my device ... whenever i reboot BOOM! Out of battery! :/ ..... This was what i did:
-Discharge the device until it turns off automatically, turn it on, charge it with out break until 4200 mv (I do it for more than 12 hours but it never send any notification about been fully charged) press the button, unplug my phone and then leave it there with a Super Smash bros match with four player to fully discharge it ... did i did anything wrong? ... i don't think so :/ after the whole process i rebooted the device and it was the same ....
Is there anything that i am missing here?
I've heard about a "Manual" method that consist on fully charge the device then with root explorer delete the bin file and let it discharge ... is that okay? ... Other method is to use the "Wipe BatteryStats" on recovery mode but i do not have that option here.
Well ... what can i do? :crying: Is there any problem with some software? How can i now it? How i can upload a inform about my device so you guys can ses what's wrong? pls help me! T-T LG doesn't have anything on my country and i rooted the phone so warranty went to hell T-T Pls guys! Anything is welcome! T-T
Not Natural English Speaker!! Sorry for any error ... i did my best without google translate! xD

Batteries and thier cells
If you imagine a square, then split it up into smaller squares (like a spreadsheet)
now forget that, do it with a cube, with equal sized smaller cubes inside, thats sort of like the inside of a battery.
Each box can have a maximum number of Ions inside and as they flow through your phone they change from - to + (they have been used)
this means they also must go back into the battery.
One large problem with them is overcharging and undercharging, where you could (this is only a way to think about it) leave it empty meaning the walls would corrode(think of it as drying out) or overcharge (compressing them, making larger forces on the walls causing them to rupture)
Over time this happens in small amounts and so batteries have a like (some thousand or whatever) Maximum recharges
There is also a chain effect where if some cells split, ones next to it can also split. This could have happened in yours and my advice would be get another battery
BTW all of this is just a way of thinking, I cant remember all the technical terms and do not use them incase i confuse the hell out of people
Before doing this if you like try delete the batterystats.bin (i have done it before, it just made another)

I had the problem where my old S2 would randomly overheat and reboot, upon reboot it would be at least %40 less, new battery fixed it
If you cant open your tablet, youtube [tabletname] dissassembly,Its quite hard to do but if its broken already
All just advice

BSOD issue fixed on Note Pro P907A

Hello everyone! after many headaches, 3 times P907A replace my device, do everything I found on the forums, I've finally been able to solve the problem of blue screen of death.
5 days have passed without any reboot, it is too early to draw definitive conclusions, but at least is a significant advance, previously had reboots 5 or more times a day.
Well, what I did was this:
1- Rooted my device using Towel Root
2-System Tuner Pro installed on my device
3- On the main page of System Tuner in the upper left corner, go to Options, Advanced Settings, then Boot Configuration.
Then in the Edit CPU options, there you will see the processor 1,2 & 3 offline, you just have to put them online.
And that's it. I think there is a bug in the OS, I'm supposed to be work according to the requirements, but it is likely that this will not automatically and only one processor working the number 0, is receiving full workload, for this reason the system is rebooted. They are now working 4 processor simultaneously.
The battery consumption? who gives a damn, when working well your dispositive.
Sorry for my bad English, but I am using San Google translator.
I hope work for you as well as me is working.
Sorry if it is not the appropriate place to write this post, I'm just trying to help.
 Greetings from Mexico
Still no BSODS?
Issued BSoD
Hi Drew489! !
Unfortunately the problems returned. Not with the same intensity, I mean, once every week or 15 days. So I decided to send my tablet to Samsung warranty.
It was not reliable for me. Samsung replacement motherboard and ready ... the problems are over.
If your gonna do as I do, I advise you to take a photo when this blue screen and send to Samsung.
to that facilitating and Samsung will replace the entire motherboard to just a few components. Sorry but true. Greetings and if you need a picture with blue screen, just tell me and I'll send it
Thank you. I'm on my second one as well. Really annoying but I guess if that's my biggest problem, life is pretty good.

[Completed] [Q] Xperia SP Serious Issues!

Hi There Developers
Im new here! I recently bought a new phone (Xperia SP) in black I was really impressed by the general performance but im having a few problems to be honest ...
1. When I exit an application Youtube/Games/Facebook the homescreen restarts and all the applications go white and I have to wait a few seconds until it loads.
2. Sometimes when im on Youtube or Gaming the phone really gets hot , so hot I have to remove the back cover It reaches a max of 40C i think which is seriously hot and im worried that the CPU might melt or something ... (happened to my HTC Desire).
3. When using the phone (General use) the phone lags alot on apps like Facebook even the simple applications like Facebook Messenger which really annoys me most of the time! (Makes me feel like I want to throw the phone against the wall!
4. When im charging the phone it should usually show a battery sign chargin However, sometimes when I wake the phone up by pressing the Power button it doesent show the battery sign it just shows a blank Black screen then I have to completely start the phone to see how much it has charged.
5. (Not so much of a problem) Does anyone know how to make the XSP'S noise output louder because I feel like its really low sounded!
6: My battery life isint up to top Notch any way to increase the battery life I have DU Battery Doctor PRO!
As I've already explained how im really new and I dont know much I know this probbably sounds stupid But recently I had an WHITE XSP and it never Overheated and now I have a BLACK XSP it overheats and as many of you may know BLACK absorbs heat and WHITE doesn't so is this the case? is this why my BLACK XSP heats up more than my old WHITE XSP?
There is another matter I want to discuss with you Developers! Since I've been having problems with my current Firmware (4.3 LATEST) I have been on a hunt for a good ROM! but unfortunately most of the ROM'S so far are pretty bad So I was really asking if any of you guys have a good ROM that they would recommend to me and a reason why I should use it? So far I've only tried Cyanogenmod 12.0 which was really bad! It was laggy the camera app never NEVER worked it was extremely laggy .
I might be consedering buying a new phone! do any of you guys have suggestions for good phones that arent that expensive between £50-£85 and reasons why you guys recommend it ? (NOT XPERIA Z)
Thanks in advance for the time it took you guys to read all of this! ^^^^^^
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. XDA assist is here to help you find answers to your questions and not answer all of them. I'm providing a link to your device's forum where you can first try to find answers and if you can't find them then ask the questions. Good luck and welcome to XDA.

[Completed] Htc M9 New buy and a few problems

The htc m9 has been "living" with me for almost a week now and I have a few noticeable problems. First of all, the charging time does take a significant time. Like a whooping 6 hours or a bit more. Well, that's a bit too much. Changed charger and socket still the same. Haven't tried the original charger yet. Planning on to. The firmware is the 2.10.something.something. and the other thing is a small thing that kinda bugs me. The charging estimate time doesnt appear. Any way to make it appear?
