[Q] Samsung GT-I9300 Not registered on network.

I am having issues with my phone not registering on local China Unicom network. First I updated my firmware to Android 4.3 UK version and I think this is what messed up my modem. I downgraded back to 4.1.2 and lost my IMEI. I then fixed my phone for $50 but I don't know how exactly the guy did. I upgraded again to 4.3 and lost my network again. I do not want to pay $50 again. This time I made a backup of my efs and restored my IMEI but I still cannot get to register on network. I have tried so many solutions but none seem to work. Just to avoid repetition I have updated my modem, installed modem files recovery ([DDEMG2 and XXDME4]), tried other custom ROMS and official firmwares but I keep getting the same error. I dont know how this Chinese guy fixed my phone but he rooted it and when I inserted the sim card it asked for network unlock code. I am writing this as it might be that my phone is set to locked version. I have also realized this has caused an issue with my cwm recovery which says E: signature verification failed. i am able to fix this by re-installing version 6.0.4.3 which then automatically updates or downgrades(I don't know) and brings back the signature error. I have my IMEI, anyone please help me with this.

Stumbled Upon TMO and Metro Unlocks Free

This is my first post... All I know about phones I've learned from this great website. I hope this is a chance to give back.
I've been playing with flashing either of these carrier firmwares on a few different Samsung phones. One being a production model the Galaxy On5. I do not know if this is an exploit or not... but this is what I did and the results of both.
SM-G550T - Galaxy On5 T-Mobile
T-Mobile Sim
I flashed SuperStarz Rom (Don't know how to link it)
His rom however is a Metro based rom..
I hit the device unlock app just for fun and to my shock it actually unlocked it. I've confirmed this with an AT&T sim card thus far. This model and account does not meet the criteria at all for the device unlock app stock to this phone.
Well I was curious..
SM-530T1 Galaxy Grand Prime
T-Mobile Sim
Tried stock unlock app... No success...
Flashed stock tmo firmware and tried again... it worked. Confirmed with a Wal-Mart family plan sim... and AT&T.
Please if anyone has the capability to try this and confirm it, let us know what happened.
Thank you!!
*I realize now this may be the wrong place to post this*
*UPDATE 4/3/17 - I performed a complete wipe and unroot on the On5... tried the unlock app for kicks... and it failed.
Because it was already unlocked!!!!*
Just did the same with the Grand Prime with the same result... seems as tho it might be legit. If someone else can confirm this I'll write a quick tut up for everyone. I also learned from my buddy that tried this after I explained what I was doing... he took the S4 Att and flashed tmo on it... and unlocked it. Flashed OG firm and remained unlocked. Or so he says... I will confirm later.
what unlocked it? the metropcs device unlock app?
Yes. And the Tmobile Unlock App on the other device.
Just tested with Galaxy Grand Express with success. Please... Anyone else confirm this??
Failing never felt so good!!! (On5)
So....
It seems to work well with later production models... Samsung Tmo Metro Att... and minutes ago with my Tmo sim, an older LG Boost phone.
Pls Anyone with any type of multi firmware capable phone, able to flash tmo or metro firms with the unlock app.. try this and let me know the results. I will be posting a full tut with screens in the AM.
I'm pretty sure I'm dying from H1N1 or Sars.... when I'm well enough to think I'll post tut.
metro galaxy grand prime unlock?
I have a MetroPCS Galaxy Grand Prime I'm trying to figure out how to unlock. I rooted it, flashed it with a paired down stock BUT I think that paired down stock got rid of the 'device unlock' app that was on my old Samsung Galaxy Core Prime because when I used that app on THAT phone it worked perfectly but I don't know how to unlock this phone or even if it IS locked (have no clue how to find out if it is). I ordered a global FreedomPop sim card to stick into this phone and give to my little girl (I want it for the tracking capabilities only for the most part, the rest I'm locking up).
This is the closest thread I can find about this subject. Any help would be deeply appreciated. I'm not a super genius for phones or programming but I can figure out how to get into the build and tinker if given the right instructions. I don't even know the mechanics of how phones are locked, though, so maybe that won't work. Again, not a super genius. Thanks, y'all.
Hi, i tried this today with a Galaxy on5 Tmobile (G550T) and didn't work. Had latest firmware installed, then installed twrp, backed up stock rom and installed Superstarz rom. MetroPCS device unlock app keeps saying 'Unlock Failed'.
Just reporting so others don't try in vain.
Yep, it's an oldie and moldie!?

Need help with SM-G920A

Hi,
I am using samsung Galaxy S6 ATT version with the following software version:
Android Version 6.0.1
Android Security Patch September 1,2016
Baseband Version G920AUCS5DPI1
Build number MMB29K.G920AUCS5DPI1
The phone is sim unlocked but I need help with rooting / unlocking the bootloader. On checking this forum I did not see that there is any way to do this on my version. So I was just wondering if there is anything else (such as installing any other ROM) that I can do with this phone.
Since the contract on my phone has expired I tried using this phone with another carrier and it does not seem to be working (tried with metroPCS) the phone does not show any other network operators except ATT/T-mobile and Verizon and on trying to connect to T-mobile it fails to connect (metro PCS uses T-mobile line)
After spending few hours with an account rep from metro he felt the phone may not be compatible. So at this point I am just trying to figure out if there is anything I can do with this device.
Sorry for the long winded post but I just hate how these carriers tell you that after the contract you own the device but their own software updates mess up any chance of using your own device as you want.
Appreciate any insight or links to help me figure out if anything can be down to get rid of the ATT rom.
Thanks,
Matt

Verify whether your IMEI is still intact.
Go to:
system settings>about phone>status
or
system settings>about>status>information
or
system settings>about>information
Or whatever similar settings that you have, then check to see if your IMEI number is shown.

Thanks for your replies. Yes my IMEI is there but its not the same as it is on the back of the phone. However, the first time i flashed the stock ROM it was all the same but i still had this problem of Network not registered.

Are you sure that you flashed the correct firmware for your specific model number?
Have you tried another SIM? If you had the SIM in when you flashed it, it might have damaged the SIM somehow. That might not be your issue but it's worth checking.
Maybe you have conflicting data from before you flashed it, in this case you can try bioting to recovery then factory reset and wipe cache then reboot.

Yes i used the exact firmware for my model as well for my country. I think i have done what you proposing already. And for trying a different SIM i did try it too. I am really helpless right now

Help: S7 duos (G930FD) stuck on emergency calls only

Please help me.
My S7 duos (G930FD) doesn't accept official stock updates or custom ROMs. If I install any of these, my phone gets stuck on "EMERGENCY CALLS ONLY" unless I return to my nandroid backup. I upgraded to Oreo and had no network at all. I searched for new networks but found none and even sometimes I could find my network, if I try to register it, I will get network not available. I also tried some custom ROMs and had the same experience. Its like I only have to remain on my official stock ROM. Any attempt to upgrade ends us frustrating as my phone will never get network. Only thing working will be WiFi. I can't use nougat custom ROMs as well as Oreo ROMs. No upgrade at all whatsoever as my phone will completely lost network. One time I upgraded to Oreo and tried to do a restore of my EFS but yet nothing positive, I even tried to patch the network with Z3X box but all attempts went in vain. Am so confused about this situation.
Please I need urgent help.
