[Q] LTE Bands - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

I am in Chicago and am getting 1 bar on average on LTE such that connections often hang, web pages are slow to open, etc. The connection issue has improved somewhat with the updates, but it is almost unusable and I sometimes force 3G.
Using the ##DATA# hack, I can disable some LTE bands. Does anyone know which would be causing the problem? I had a Nexus 5 and did not have such problems.

You can also do a data reset by entering ##72786# on the dialer then sit back and let it do it's thing

Any way to set 3G as permanent internet, so it doesn't go to HDPSA?

I've been having internet troubles since i got my Hero a few weeks ago.
It seems to jump between '3G' and 'H' when I use any applications using the internet. This means that pages often fail to load/download, or appear slower than 2G connection speeds.
I think this is because I'm in an area which can just about receive HDSPA speeds sometimes, but not consistently, so I was wondering if there's any way to set the internet to stay at 3G and not attempt to connect to HDSPA? When I'm in areas where the best speed possible in 3G, the internet is infinitely faster than when it's jumping from 3G to H and back.
Thank You!

[Q] How to stay constantly connected to 'H' instead of '3G'?

I'm in Australia with a HTC Legend, currently running CM7, previously had Sense of course.. however I don't thin this problem is specific to Legend at all.
When I have 'Mobile Data' enabled and I'm in a good reception area, it will say '3G' or 'H' in the notification bar.
I'm not really sure what the difference is, I've heard maybe 3G is slower than H or used to save power etc. But they both occur with the same amount of reception.. either I get 3G/H or G/E if I'm at a place with really bad reception.
However the problem is, when it has '3G' showing at the top, the data speed isn't slower, but NO DATA AT ALL is transferred. Then it switches to 'H' and internet works.
The annoying thing is, it seems the switching between '3G' and 'H' is COMPLETELY RANDOM. I could be looking through market, browsing web, using maps, downloading, streaming youtube and it will continuously randomly switch between the two, turning internet off and on as it does. It's incredibly frustrating because even if I'm in an area with great reception and I know it's capable of fast transfer speeds, while it's stuck on '3G' mode I get no internet at all.
Does anyone know exactly why it does this, what it means or how I can make it to stop switching to '3G' and stay on 'H'? If it's the radio switching to 3G to save battery when it thinks internet isn't being used, I'd like to disable this because it does switch to 3G when I DO want to use the internet, or right in the middle of data being transferred.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Can anyone provide any info? I'd really like to sort it out!
i think its depend on your provider, u cant always connect at H if your provider dont give u that signal

Its HSPA, what you get depends on your carrier's coverage area. A few cities in the US have them, such as Baltimore. When I flew to Minnesota I got 3G. As far as you not having a data connection on 3G, I believe if you're in an HSPA area you won't get data on 3G. I know I don't (I have a Galaxy S 4G). When you're in a 3G only area you should get data.

Phones switches to 2g during call - (3G) data is disabled

Hi everyone, I'm running Android 2.3.4 (OpenSoju Rom) on my Nexus S,
but the issue i'm going to describe has happened to me on other Roms and
even on my old Nexus One.
When the phone is idle, 3G data works great (also when using apps that
require an internet connection), but when I receive a call,
after a minute or two, the 3G icon disappears from the notification
bar and the phone data connectivity is lost - no connection to the internet.
I've asked around and someone told me it is because the phone switches to
2G network during the call and when in the phone is in 2G mode, during a call
there is no data (on a 2G network).
I know that in the past this behavior did not occur, and in my country
when in 3G during a call - data is enabled!
So does anyone know how to fix/change the setting that causes this behavior?
'cause, for me, sometimes I really need the data connection during a call,
for example, when navigating using Waze (which needs data connectivity),
and receiving a call it causes Waze to stop working and I lose my GPS direction.
Thanks.
Use to work for me too. Then i noticed when AT&T started saying the had talk and web at same time, mysteriously it started doing what is happening to you. And i have Sprint, unless you switch to at&t you might be waiting for awhile.

No 3g signal

I'm on bamf soab 1.03 and I dont think anyone else is habing this problem but I'm wondering if anyone knows how to fix this issue. When I get 4g signal the phone will use it but won't use 3g. It drops out of 4g and then just stays without data. So basically its only using 4g or else its just not connecting to 3g. There is no data problem in my area because people I live with are getting 3g just fine....any ideas?
Menu > Settings > Wireless & Networks > Radio Info > Change LTE only to CDMA/LTE mode
if you don't have the radio info option there, download LTE toggle from the market and do the last step.
heh. i tried out the new 1.03 and market just kept crashing on me(even after force stopping/clearing data) and uninstalling updates. so i just thought "to hell with it" and switched back over to shiftao3p
No such setting as LTE only. And my phone has always been on LTE/cdma so its not that I already checked that. I'm not a noob user.
do you have EHRPD on under modem settings in ##778? It should be. Past that I sometimes reset if it has issues locking on to one and that will resolve. That's all for my ideas, though I'm still on SOAB 1.02

This is what i was going to suggest. Here's some information that might be helpful. I've found that with the network testing and stuff the past few weeks in my area, sometimes revision a enabled is better, sometimes eHRDP works better. Try switching revision A and see what it does.
Try dialing ##778# on your phone, hit call if you need to.
Choose edit mode
Password is 000000 (six zeros)
Choose modem settings, go down to revision A, and change from e HRDP to "enabled"
Press menu and commit modifications, phone will reboot.
After it settles you may need to go to *#*#4636#*#* and choose phone info then change your preferred network settings to get a solid signal.

I was messing with it last night and seems that the issue is fixed if it happens again ill follow those steps. I'm a pretty advanced user but I'm not so familiar with those settings so thanks for the help

I'm running a version of 2.11.605.3, de-bloated and rooted.
I lost 3G on October 21st. I would either get 4G, or nothing. On occassion, I would get 1x. Selecting CDMA only gives me NO data
If I change the REV-A option under the ##778# menu from EHRPD to enabled, the 3G comes back and the toggling between 3G and 4G works fine.
Switch back to EHRPD and 3G goes away. Seems like the problem is with EHRPD. I don't know why all of a sudden it stopped working correctly and I don't have enough tech skills to identify the possible cause.
VZW has had trouble with their Data network the last two weeks, could be a VZW problem. I have not had any 3G problems on my phone and I am running SoaB v1.03 on my phone.

Delayed data connection (of sort) on AT&T LTE

So for the past week, I've been experiencing this oddball issue with LTE connectivity on my Nexus 5 on AT&T. For some reason, my data connection isn't immediate, but delay of sorts. IE when I do a google search or open up a website on chrome, there's about a 10 seconds delay after you start the search or entering in the url before you get your results/webpage. I don't think its due to a slow connection because this occurs when I have full bars for signal strength. Normally search or chrome is immediate when the LTE wasn't acting up or on wi-fi. Plus once it connects, its full speed as normal. It's as if the phone is waiting for something, times out after 10 seconds or so, than starts pulling in the data from the network. Also, the LTE signal never drops. According to the status bar, the LTE and network connection is always there the entire time.
Has this happen to anyone else? Let me know if any clarification is needed? It's a little confusing and I'm not sure what's actually going on. Not sure if its the phone or the network?
Exact same problem here
