Hello,
I am running cm12 and everything was running just fine for me on lollipop 5.0.2 until I backed up my phone using TWRP. After I did the backup I rebooted my phone and tried to send a text message, the text message did not go through and I noticed the exclamation mark up by my service bars, (not WiFi).
I have searched this issue and have found that most of the people are having some kind of WiFi issue but mine won't let me do anything over my network. And yes my mobile data is working. So I went and did a restore to and earlier version and the exclamation mark isnt there. The version that works is cm11, cm12 has been working for me for a while now until tonight.
Does anyone know why this would be happening?

actually did some of the same things. Actually unrooted and went back to 3.0. Did updates but I don't have market and gmail. Browser works good for me but seeing the same problems with syncing.
UPDATE
nandroid restored to 3.1 again and
on restart was prompted to do OTA update to 3.2
accepted this and on reboot it hung at white triangle /yellow exclamation mark and android logo
rebooted and lo and behold my xoom sprung into life
allowing access to everything gmail/market etc without any errors
go figure = still reckon it was issue with google servers (just my two cents)
I have following problems with my Nexus 5 16 GB (unlocked, not rooted and everything stock)
1. It keeps rebooting occasionally (more often than I would count as normal) without any apparent reason.
2. Whenever I receive OTA update it fails to complete showing "Error" on while updating.
3. Tried factory resetting several times to no avail all symptoms remain the same.
4. Could not go to recovery mode. It shows a red triangle with exclamation mark.
5. Flashed stock images from Google.
6. Worked fine for few days (seldom reboots, though) and could go to recovery mode.
7. Now recovery is again corrupted. Cannot go to recovery mode and it keeps rebooting every now and then.
I don't know if it is a hardware problem or software. I need to sell this phone but want to be fair so need to exactly what is the problem and what could be a possible solution to perspective buyer.
Thanks for long post. Any help is much appreciated.

You only have one issue here which is rebooting. If you flashed stock without restoring data /installing apps and it still reboots, send it for repair.

Yes I flashed everything stock (without keep any data/apps) and it still reboots. Initially I checked by entering into recovery mode and all was OK but now a red triangle. So it is a hardware problem
Thanks for your quick reply
Stock recovery always has that symbol

got the same problem since 4.4.3 came out, even got a replacement phone that does the same.. symptom a soft reboot, occasionally hard, every one or two days.
running 4.4 or 4.4.1/2 the problem disappears
only thing i found that helps is turning location on and having mobile settings to allow 3g.. i can go for up to a week like this before a reboot.. my personal settings of 2g only and location off makes it worse for some unknown reason.
Hi all,
I downloaded 5.0.1 factory image and flashed all the files (except for user data and cache) through fastboot and everything went smoothly....once the phone reboots, it asks for language etc - then connects to my wifi and gets stuck on "Software update" screen - it shows "checking for updates" and nothing happens. I tried rebooting and turning off the wifi connectivity and it still does the same thing over cell network. There's a skip at the bottom but it's deactivated so I can't click on the skip. Not sure why it got stuck on this screen....anyone seen this happen?
Any help would be greatly appreciated
thanks
I left it overnight but, still its stuck ont he same screen. I made sure I did flash Hammerhead
I made lrx22c - so it's not the issue of flashing wrong files
any help please?
Interesting thing is I tried to flash back to 5.0 and I still get the same error message.
I know it still has all my data as it automatically connects to my wifi.
Not sure what am I doing wrong?

Were you on 4.4.4 before? If so you're going to have to flash userdata.

Hi guys. I have a mildly irritating problem. This is not the common Wi-Fi exclamation mark issue, it's a weird one.
Some time ago I've checked out Pry-Fi. At first it worked perfectly fine, but after half an hour it went haywire. Wi-Fi basically stopped working. I've tried disabling and reenabling Pry-Fi, messing with some settings, I have even uninstalled it and nothing worked. Finally I have restored full TWRP backup and it went back to normal. (It was on Sultanxda's Lollipop ROM.)
One exception. Since then when Wi-Fi is OFF, it always shows the exclamation mark. Similarly, when mobile data is off, it has exclamation mark too. I've just flashed stock through fastboot (everything except userdata) and it's affected too. See a screenshot attached.
It's not that much of an issue, but it's mildly irritating. So, do you guys have some idea how to fix this?
@gronostaj
Reflash rom , which You are currently using. Dont do factory reset , just wipe cache , dalvik cache and format /system before reflashing.

Hey, thanks for a reply. I think I've done that before, without success.
But! I did this:
Factory reset
Flash latest CM 13 snapshot
Flash Sultan's Marshmallow ROM
And the exclamation mark is gone. I'm planning to stick to that ROM for a while now, so I won't be able to verify any solutions or check if it fixes Lollipop too. Anyway, upgrading to a newer OS sounds like a good solution to me.
Only means that you don't have any network turned on. It's always there on mine too and i am on stock.
So to give a backstory, yesterday night, I ****ed my phone. It got corrupted, but I made a backup before. So today I tried to restore the backup. That did not go very well. So I searched up solutions and found out that it might be the os that is corupted after restoring the backup. So I side-loaded the official oxygen os 9.0.2. That worked and right now I got all my data back+my device is working kinda. After it started I saw that it's not conected to wifi. So I tryed to turn on the wifi but after like 3-4 seconds of trying to start the wifi, it automaticly turns itself off. Anyone got an idea on how to fix this?
Edit 1: My MAC adress is 02:00:00:00:00:00? Uh this does not seem right.

I got the exact same problem. Today too. I tried booting from slot a in recovery then that is when it started.
Any solution?
I did go into twrp tried wiping system, then reflashing oos9.0.2 and it was a no go.
I then went into twrp and wiped data and it worked. Of course all data was gone and had to clean install. Hope you have a data back up in twrp.
