I have a co worker looking to buy a s6 from ebay, the model number 902F looks like it is for the UK, there is also a 920I that looks like its for india that he is looking at, will one of these work on virgin canadas network at full speed? is one a better choice then the other? will i have to flash a custom rom for him to make it work?
Also is virgins network the same as rogers?
Check the specs on them then and see what frequencies they use. Do a Google search or look it up on XDA

I live in Australia and I'm thinking about buying a Touch Pro from USA since it seems cheaper. I was wondering is there anything I have to look out for that might stop it form working here. Eg. Network issues.
I'm thinking about this one
Hi,
The phone in the link operates on the CDMA network, you'll want the GSM version (the one that uses a simcard). It is also network locked and will need to be hacked/unlocked.
Very cheap though...
Thanks
Some of them say A & T service required for some of the features. What does that mean?
you don't really need to "hack" it. just get someone to create your unlock code for you. you can get it here on xda or even ebay. I believe olinex can provide you the unlock code for a price. I can gaurantee that these guys here at xda are very helpful so dont' worry about that too much.
you should think about what band your provider in aus is using.
Good luck!
EDIT: those "features" are ATT specific and you can make those disappear. check the links on "unbloating" your phone. It's pretty annoying but it does not do anything for your phone if you don't use ATT's network. Check out the thread on flashing for beginners. Read it carefully and if you have questions, be very specific.
Thanks for the help. I been using a jasjam (hermes) with a flashed rom but the hermes is in bad condition so thinking about getting a new phone.
Dood, I'm in Aus and also upgraded to Touch Pro from JasJam.
A warning. You will not get Telstra NextG video calls. The touch pro does not operate on Telstra's band. Just in case you were/are a Telstra man...
Also, you should be able to ebay a cheap as new unit in Australia... I've seen many go for under $300.
A brand new phone for less that $300???
What are you searching "HTC touch pro"?
Touch Pro or Fuze in Australia?
Mate, check the 3G/UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA frequencies used by your provider!!!
The TP AND the Fuze will work AS PHONE in almost any GSM network (beside some Asian countries i.e. Japan) since they are 4 band GSM devices. However, using the benefits of high speed data aka 3G you have to check which band your provider is using. AFAIK Telstra is using 850/1900 which matches the ATT US network while t-mobile and the std. TP use 900/2100. IF you are with Telstra get a Fuze and it will work. People here in the US buy the HD (not offered here in the US by ATT) in Australia to operate it in the US network.
Good luck and don't get screwed.
Since I live in the armpit of technology, NZ, I'm in the process of looking to source this phone abroad, just sold my desire HD for a great price here ( at least there is a benefit for living here -reselling value holds good) and was looking for the best place to buy the phone.
Boils down to US or UK.
If its the UK, then Clove.co.uk will be my first choice as they have done well by me before ( though they were expensive compared to the US , I had £ there, so used that first)
If I get the sensation 4G for vodafone here (2100 and 900MHz) am I likely to run into any issues.
or should I get it from the UK.
what are the differences between the models if any... can't find nowt anywhere comparing the models for any differences.... is it just a marketing difference ??
Damn those XDA videos are getting great !!!
Pier
not 100% sure but from the box shots I've seen of the released UK version and spy shots of the T-mobile US version, the only difference is in the 3G/UTMS frequency.
UK is 900/1700/2100
US is 1700/1900/2100

I think the phones are identical except the US version has Tmobile bloatware.

From what I understand T-Mobile is relatively good when it comes to bloatware. They have even released some phones with stock Android versus the version with the OEM's skin.
Not as good as the Vodafone version I'm guessing though and never as good as the sim-unlocked one but still I'm hoping it's not horrible.
I tend to get my phones from expansys.co.nz. However they don't have a price or availability yet.
1) Will there be a speed difference if used on Tmo US?
2) Will it be possible to flash the Rom from the Sensation 4G to the Sensation in the future for wifi calling?

Oh, so not true. Some of the problems the G2X (O2X) are experiencing are being attributed to some of the T-Mobile apps. And that was supposed to be a "vanilla Google" phone. Their version will have a proprietary Wi-Fi Calling app that will no doubt interfere with SIP on the phone. You'll also be dependent on T-Mobile for updates which will always be slower than HTC direct. If you're going to root the phone and load custom ROMs this is of course mute.
Hey Guys,
I'm interested in the Nexus S, I'm sorry I'm creating a thread to ask this, but it's just driving me crazy.
I plan on using T-Mobile in the US. When I search Evil-Bay and other online stores. They just put up i9020 as the model number and list all the bands. Is there a Nexus S version that has all the bands (I hope I'm using the right term) that the i9020T and i9020A have?
I bought (haven't paid for it yet) this Nexus S off of Evil-Bay
http://www.ebay.com/itm/12086207081...NX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649#ht_766wt_1267
and the description says it's a i9020A (the wrong one I need as I was later told by friends). I contacted the seller to ask which model it is and the seller is telling me it has the same Band Network as T and A model.
SO, is there a version that has every Band Network available?
Thank you.
No Nexus S has all the bands. Linky for reference.
You want the i9020 (original) or i9020T, or even an i9023 (this is slightly thicker and has the SC-LCD, not SAMOLED). The 4G obviously won't work for you at all, though the i9020A will sitll give you 2G/GPRS/EDGE calls and data - you'll get no 3G with T-Mo with the A model.
Edit: In fact, you might get some 3G with the 2100mhz band. I don't live in the US to guarantee anything though, wiki says T-Mo is 50% 1700 and 50% 2100mhz.
If you live in the USA, buy 9020, not 9023, you won't have samples screen with 9023

E-bay is full of crap ... Try Amazon and look for "I9020T" if you want T mobile,(or I9023 for AMOLED screen is not important for you and you save 20-30 bucks)
http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-GT-Go...2C48/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1330109609&sr=8-1
If seller doesn't specify I9020T in item discription , move over ...
check out cowboom.com they have REALLY good prices but they very from day to day so...
Thank you for the info guys!
The seller contacted me and said the phone I purchased from him is:
model GTI9020.
BAND: Tri-bandHSPA(900,2100,1700MHz),quad-bandGSM/E DGE(850,900,1900MHz)
But, did they ever make a White i9020/i9020T model? The only information I found for the white version is that it was made specifically for AT&T so did they ever make a white version for tmobile ?
I don't believe they did, but there is a white i9023 which you'll probably need to get shipped from Australia or Europe if they have them. I personally prefer the SC-LCD over SAMOLEDs (even all the SGS2s ive seen have ugly tints), it's just a little harder to find cases that fit since it is a little thicker.
Also, if it is in fact those bands, it is the i9020T. Get him to post a picture of the sticker behind the battery and see if it says i9020A, just to make sure.
Hey members,
Good News for those waiting to get Update. G Pro just got first Update with KitKat as GPro2. Problem is We have to buy this update for around 600$ again.
:highfive: for one who will buy this update from LG.
Anyway News here:
LG spilled the beans on the announcement and the name of the successor of the LG Optimus G Pro. The upcoming phablet will go official in February (MWC in Barcelona is likely) as the LG G Pro 2.
Unsurprisingly, LG removed the ‘Optimus’ moniker from the name of the yet to be seen handset. Like the latest batch of high-end smartphones from the Korean manufacturer, the device will launch as simply a member of the 'G' lineup.
In case revealing only the name of an upcoming device appears to be an odd move by LG, we must point that this isn’t the first time the company pulls such a trick. Last year, the manufactuer revealed the name of its current flagship, the LG G2 in a similar fashion.

New Images of leaked pics:
We have great devs! someone will figure out how to port this over to our phone after they look over all the specs and such
Great news, however LG has a history of not supporting their phones for very long, however if it has Dev support and is what the G2 was to the S4 then I might have to get it regardless
Damn you beat me to it @NaveenKumarXDA I just read about this over at Engadget. Seems like they "promise" to release it next month but what I want to know is how the future of that phone will look on Us carriers hopefully it isn't single carrier variant.

I saw from a news feed somewhere that this is a 5.9" screened device. Too big for my taste. 5.5" is my limit, and our LG OGP fits the bill.

I have the Korean version in the UK and it works fine.
You can delete all the Korean apps that come pre installed so that's good.
There are a few tweaks I made myself to make the phone better such as removing the Korean roaming clock from the lockscreen etc... just to make the phone a bit more English friendly. You do need root for that which is easy enough to do.
The phone will work on EE and Three's 4G networks only. It won't work on O2 or Vodafone 4G but will work on every network 3G and 2G fine.

What's the number of your Korean version? Is it a D838 (the "International" version, I was told) or something else?
Am a bit concerned as have ordered a D838 and I'm on O2...
And does your G Pro 2 have the TV aerial built in??? I've seen some models which do...

The Korean Version has the model number F350.
The Asian version (Hong Kong) has the model number D838 and was released after the Korean version.
Unfortunately the D838 only supports 1800Mhz and 2600Mhz and not the 800Mhz that O2 use for 4G. So the phone will work fine on 3G and 2G but it will not work on 4G at all.
You'll probably want to wait for the European model to launch if you want to use O2. Otherwise only EE and Three will work with both the D838 and F350 on 4G in the UK.
And yes, the Korean version (F350) is the one with the aerial. The Asian version does not have an aerial and is the same look as the European/American variants will be.

I got it today and all I can say is that this is too amazing. perfect grip, perfect apps. just my type of device.
Hi I was going to buy the SM-N915F as it is cheaper from amazon but my the SM-N915FY is the one for th UK England. i wanted to know what the difference was if any between the SM-N915F AND SM-N915FY. I do not seem to be able to find clear information that they have the same band connection ability. The Hong Kong version will not work well on all providers in the UK does the N915F have the same problem meaning I would be better to getting the N915FY that will work on all networks fully. I have looked but different sites seem to list different specs and I am running out of time as my wife wants to buy it for my birthday and i might end up with socks again like the last 20 years.
Thank you if you know the answer
Hi I brought F in Malaysia it's working fine on 3 here in UK , also f and fy have same rom layout etc so must be the same item really, edge was not supposed to be hitting Europe so I think the fy is just the f but really labeled to separate eropean from Asian ..
Just get the Flash if cheaper it's brilliant
