Wake lock detector should be back next week. - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S6

Dev got back to me about the lack of an update.

Awesome, this app pretty much made my s3 bearable until I picked up the s6. Glad to know it's coming back, next we need xposed and I'll be happy

awesome news!

Looking for the honesty please...

As you can see in my sig, I am on a Cappy with Gingerbread and a rom that is working magnificently. I have my Cappy setup exactly the way I like it and Netflix works like a charm. As a matter of fact, I am going on a business trip next week and look forward to chillin in the airport with my earbuds in watching a movie on the Cappy...
that said, I had really been looking forward to the Infuse. I was going to give it a week and pick it up tomorrow. Then I started browsing the new forum yesterday and noticed that some of you are reporting issues. Netflix also doesn't work. I was really looking forward to the front facing camera among other things... If I was to ask advice (and I would really like your advice), I would imagine some will tell me to just wait until an update comes out or the dev section really gets going. Any thoughts? Thanks for sharing.
I cant speak for the Cappy, but in the last 2 months I went from the iPhone 4, to the Atrix, to the Inspire, to the Infuse.
The Infuse is now my favorite phone that I have ever owned. It has the best of all of them combined.
Yes there are a few bugs, no there is no roms yet, but we all know that will come in the not far future. Get one now, and you'll get to enjoy it a little longer

Camera is very, very good. See engadget's review if u don't believe me.
GPS - flawless. When you're on the trip - ur cappy will make u furious driving around wasting time and getting tickets (been there, done that, sold that piece of ****)
Netflix - no idea, don't care
It's huge. Thing is a shovel, just attach a handle.
Screen - amazing, SAMOLED Plus, need I say more?
Battery life - so far crappy, but it's not broken in yet. Supposed to be better, since it's 1750mah.
Also, more RAM, enough to keep my Opera, couple of HD games and some apps open without need to reopen them when Android clears RAM.
Definite upgrade over craptivate. That phone was sweet, but non-existent GPS on it killed it for me. Stupid thing made me spend $$ driving around like an idiot.
Warning: I'm easily influenced by positive responses and may end up leaving for my business trip Monday with an Infuse in tow.
Just what I was looking for... Thanks for the responses thus far.
Yes my friend..i have my cappy (was my main device) inspire both on cm7. I have not picked them up since i bought this animal.

This is what makes me foam at the mouth. I played with an Infuse in the store yesterday and the 4G speed is ridiculous. Web pages just appear. The lack of a front facing cam is something that I thought should have landed the Cappy designers back behind the woodshed.

Do you have the apk of the netflix app that you are using or did it come pre loaded on the rom you are using.

Wife has my old Vibrant which is unlocked on ATT and has the front facing cam....and it is awesome....so for me there was no question....especially when all phone seem to be going that route...
My 3g where i live is almost as fast as 4g so my cappy did great...
I will say this....if there was any chance i could have added a FFC to my captivate i would not have change phones...

I have the apk. Works like a dream. Streaming movies on the phone (with very good quality) is impressive.
Want to throw that .apk our way? Is it modded or just vanilla?

No Netflix no problem! Download the PlayOn app on your phone and PC. Free trial is 14 days, after its $4.99 a month. It automatically detects configuration on your pc allowing you to stream on 3g/4g. Best thing about playon is not only does it stream Netflix and and anything you want from your PC (music videos pics) it also has hulu integration! You can watch any hulu video just as you would in Netflix. Not thru a broswer but thru a deticated app. Quality is magnificient most hulu is in HD. There's even plugins so you can watch most network shows, NBC, FOX, CBS ect. Try it out! You won't be disappointed!

Oh and PS. I've had every single phone in the world honestaly, every generation iphone, nexus one nexus s HTC inspire, captivate, atrix, blackberrys, and now the infuse. I'm a phone junkie/addict. I always want the best and I always want the latest. I can honestaly say this is.the best phone I.have ever used and I love every little thing about it. I buy all my ohones off contract and soon regret it. I don't regret this one. If the galaxy s 2 or iphone 5 came out tomorrow I woildnt blink an eye. 4.5 inches samoled is magnificient! The thing is super thin super light and super sexy looking. This is the best phone I've ever had, and I know everything about phones they all have their flaws or get boring after a while. I'm still in awe at this bad boy. 4.5 samoled iis the new standard for me. Dual core is all marketing IMHO. This thing is faster than my atrix ever was

Good Choice!
I just got mine yesterday, i come from a Motorola Atrix 4G.
i can honestly say I LOVE THIS PHONE!
1. EYE CANDY! super slick and sexy. i would suggest a mirrored screen protector just for that mirror finish as the phone has gray chrome around it.
2. Massive screen. 4.5. i thought the HD2 was the biggest i would of ever gone. Super Amoled screen.
3. thinest smartphone. 'nough said.
4. it snappy, very snappy. i thought my atrix was fast with its dual core... this phone easily out paces the atrix in everyday use.
5. Touchwiz. the only custom UI that i have seen that does not slow down the phone like sense or motoblur.
6. 8MP camera. this phone carrier a really good lens on its back. i took dissection pictures of my cat at school. they look real nice. i would upload but idk the rules so yeah.
7. Long long battery life. well for me at least. this was under high usage texting music pictures and other stuff. words with friends... angry birds... you know.
thats pretty much it i guess. its a really good choice. and a really great phone. you will like it.

we have a samsung chipset. but it works on samsung with gingerbread. so no worries.
I also have a Cappy....actually use it now for my "work" phone, and have my new baby as my personal phone. I absolutely love the new infuse. Have been running custom roms like cm7, paragon, ff, you name it I've tried it... and loving this stock infuse more, than the Cappy any day. Its everything the Cappy should have been out of the box.

oh yeah true dat. hmmm idk who told me it had a qualcomm. oh well. same difference right?
it is too easy to get sucked into the rom frenzy with the cappy. and then the power of suggestion that the phone is laggy and such creates this striving for improvement constantly. i know i was there. my oppinion is that the cappy is not as bad as it is made out to be if you leave it basically stock. the infuse however doesnt the shortcomings of the cappy. it has both camera, a flash, unknown sources, bigger screen, better audio vs the cappy stock(slightly). same audio hardware, but better implimented or newer drivers. and the gps hardware is not marginalized. i have come to find out that tracking in google maps can be funky on any phone but with the cappys hardware it was a nightare untill you got the jupiter.xml all corrected and played with the settings.
the infuse is good out of the box but after putting some of my known good settings from the captivate in it was great. but then after trying agps settings full time it was phenomenal! this really is the best gps i have seen. it seems the hardware layout is changed. the gps seems to work during phone calls(didnt on the cappy, god forbid you are driving and someone calls you) as does the camera.
i got laughed at when i complained about photos in phone calls in the captivate section no one would work on it, now id bet it is a hardware limitation. now if im on speaker phone with someone who doesnt have video calling i can just text them pictures

Did you see the daydream feature? Cool I can display the clock, and other options too, while charging at night. I always had to hit the power button to see the time before. It is even big enough to see without putting on the glasses!

Laggy apps

Hey everyone, loving my new nexus as I'm sure most of you are.
I have however come across some apps that have really bad scrolling. Both of these apps did not have this issue on my note 2.
Amazon & Steam.
It puzzles me why this is because this phone tears through everything else I do.
Wait for them to be updated to be 4.4 compatible...I bet they work better then..

I don't mean to be rude, but there are about 50 threads exactly like this. No one can really tell you what to expect besides yourself. :good:
But just to give you something. Unlock the boot loader as soon as you get it.

You sillys and your obsession with stock and ota updates. You know you can manually get the newest likely even before ota is pushed. But if you want to sit around and wait that hopefully it gets pushed on time, go right ahead. Plus its a nexus. Returning to stock after unlocking is so incredibly easy that you should not fear experimenting in the meantime. But do as you wish, its your device.

Understandable, and definitely exciting, mine was shipped when I was away from home on vacation, so not only did I have to wait for it to become available, but then for it to ship home, and then again for me to return home. The wait is well worth it.
Unlock the bootloader, as if you decide to do this later it will wipe your data if you do not backup
Unlock developer options and switch from dalvik to ART runtime. This will make your device run much smoother than it does
Disable unused and background processes ( I disable Cloud, Printing, Language packs personally )
Under developer options, I personally change "Don't Keep Activities" as I notice it greatly assists my battery life.
Everyone's experience may vary, but have fun finding out what works for you.

my 2 cents are: for a few days / weeks keep the thing as it came. if there are any hidden bugs, well it will be easier to rma.
then up to you what you want to do, there are "endless" possibilities.
I always like to unlock the bootloader first at least, before I get too comfortable with stock.
Thanks everyone! I too love threads like these. Feels like I'm part of the community
So I'm going to unlock the bootloader, root, enable ART (which should be fun to try out!), and pull out a few tweaks.
I think I will stay stock, but maybe use Xposed.
Thanks for all the input! I really like the suggestions.

So you're coming from a fast phone to another fast phone. The things the Nexus 5 has over the Note 3 is better Google Experience, better customization, no crappy TouchWiz.

I was using ART for a while, but switched back so I could try Xposed + GravityBox. Not going back to ART now... the customization features GravityBox provides are worth way more than the minor speed increase ART gives... and with those features I don't really even feel the need to use a custom ROM. If there's one thing I could recommend, it would definitely be this.
Yes I would educate myself about rooting/ unlocking the bootloader and make that one of the first things, reason being is that unlocking the bootloader erases everything on the phone. I mean you can make backups but I personally have never made a backup of anything.

Android 5.0 Lollipop running on the Samsung Galaxy S4 new TouchWiz UI,Material Design

http://www.sammobile.com/2014/11/07...n-samsung-galaxy-s4-new-touchwiz-ui-on-board/
What About Us ...
Once the official drops, which sounds like pretty soon (maybe a couple months away) we will get at least ports from it. If it follows Samsung's norm, it will be released on the International S4's first. Then "maybe" if ATT decides to we will get a official crapware filled ATT official at some point.

They just said they've got a lot of bugs they are working on and that it isn't even running the latest version of Lollipop. Give them time. Heck, for all we know it may not be compatible with our locked bootloader kernels.
I hope when they do release it that they have a Dark UI theme as well. All that white and teal will likely be a bit of a drain on the battery and will blind you if you decide to check some notifications at night.

Word! Personally, unless the big L races like a stolen Lamborghini thru Compton I have yet to see any material design that does my eyes any favors.
Stuff looks like the 1986 Montgomery Ward Spring catalog.
Like wow y'all really diggin' that old Miami Vice motif?
Sorry, like the man said too much white for the night.
Edit: Hold up I got another one: it reminds me of Windows 2.0. I was all over that late 80's OS learning Paint at my first job.
Ok I'm done.
