hi there i would like to know what exactly flash means , as i happened to do it to my MI 4I...
Yest while taking back up for my phone thru my pc , my pc suite showed me as some update and it was Written, FLASH there ,... i did as per said now i have all my data... and i need whether i need to UNFLASH it and how to do it ? or is necessary to do it ?

I am sorry but I am not getting ur question
Flashing basically means installing a new O/S (operating system) on ur phone it can either be a totally new ROM or in ur case an update.
No idea about what do you mean by unflashing
But before flashing a new ROM or update we should always take a backup and once we are done restore the back.

Sure, my life gone a bit crazy, my PC died, my phone died, then I got family problems. As you may know, I don't own this device (only get it when it's owner gives it to me for a while), so it's hard to work on it.
I'll try update to update this kernel soon AND create a working lollipop for this device too

Swap partition possible?

Does the kernel support a swap partition? Since the A700 has only 1 GB RAM I would like to create a guide for that purpose.

New to Flashing, Custom Rom, and wat not
Im interested to get the MIUI Custom Rom after reading alot of things about this. Downloaded the ROM and now dont know what to do next. One person suggested Odin was the perfect thing to flash. But i dont know how to do it., and i dont even know if this custom ROM can be flashed through ODIN. Please can some one give step by step instructions to a laymen

I shouldnt install custom rom, shouldnt use MIUI ROM or shouldnt use ODIN?? :crying:

Bootloop
Hi guys. Umpteenth time i tried to flash my xt926 with my favorite os miui, but i just have a bootloops, with moto logo.
I did all necessary wipes before and after flash, and i tried without wipe after flash but result is the same.
During flashing i have some message like md5 check skipped or failed, cant remeber all text.
Give me please precious advice, how to solve problem.
I had miui on defy+, and i can say that miui is the best that happened with android.
Recovery- last twrp, kitkat.

About 5 min I see motorola dual core technology boot logo, reboot and logo again. What I did wrong?
Wanted to check if anyone knew about a gsm build of miui for JB...I really liked this roms interface but couldn't play with it much as the sms is screwed up.... USSD codes for my carrier wont work... Problem
hello, first of all good rom. I wanted to ask for help.
Initially your rom worked perfectly, but from 2 months I have problems with my SD; or better with saving the data on it, both memory have the same problem.
For example, with files downloaded from the browser, when the downloading and, the smartphone does not "detect/ read" the file and I have to necessarily use an APP for re-scan or re-boot to see and use the file at issue.
apparently is a problem writing, because if I try to searching the file with a file browser, the file is present but not readable.
sometimes it also happens with the camera.
until now, I have try to changed the external SD and re-flashing ROM without solving the problem.
I use the Kernel of Shazo
Any suggestions?

First update to ics v30a/b bevor flashing this. Then install wparks bootloader. After that flash the recovery. Now you are rdy to flash the rom. If you get an security error after flashing make a factory reset...

i dont have an old bootloader but i guess it should be working! and btw at worst case, you can still restore old rom backup.

i will flash it . what is the worst case? when tha flash fails? thanks btwi dont need backups i just flash stock flashable roms

in worst case, it bootloops. if thats the case, just reboot to recovery and flash stock as easy as that
