Stock moto g lollipop 5.0.2, screen goes blank after boot animation. - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

HI!
I've had this issue before, and this time I want to try not losing the data.
As I've mentioned in the title, my phone screen goes blank after the boot animation ends, i guess after it completes the boot animation and enters the homescreen.
This happened when I was on a call on viber, and previously as well this happened when I was on a call on viber. Last time, I had lost all data. This time I have the photos backed up, but did not backup rest of the data, phone settings, sms, app settings etc..
How can I save my data? My PC detects my phone, and I can enter into recovery mode.
Is Wipe data/factory reset my only option?
PS: I have tried wiping the cache partition twice, and it did not help!
Thank you

Issue solved for now. It seems the brightness was reduced to zero. After a restart i saw the screen light up very faintly and i increased the brightness. I still would like to know why this happened and how can i avoid it. Thank you.

[Q] infinite reboot!

[Q] Screen won't stay on for more than an Instant

ok, weird issue.
Yesterday I came back to my TF having left it inmy bag for the day, and it would not turn on at all.
I tried various things and then decided that the battery must be totally dead.
I left it to charge over night, and come the morning was able to watch it booting.
However once It finished boot it goes to black screen. Pressing the power button sometimes gives a flicker of backlight and then goes blank again. sometimes it even gives a glimpse of the screen.
Plugging in the power sometimes gives a longer blink of the booted ROM.
I have tried a cold boot, a full data wipe and I have used NV flash to fully reinstall the ROM (Prime 1.8)
After the full reinstall I go through the Google initial setup process without a problem, as soon as the rom boots I am back to the flicker of screen going off..
Does anyone have any ideas??
Still got the problem, does this sound like hardware to anyone else?
if the screen doesnt work during boot it is hardware problem. flash ur rom again or wipe it

Screen works fine during boot
Done both of your suggestions unfortunately, as I stated in my original posting.
I am going to try going back to Stock, and assuming its an app NOT restore any during the rebuild process.

Noticable delay with screen turning on, didn't happen before?

Cross posted
So of you followed my latest "journey", I had a perfectly funtiocnal phone, I screwed up the lockscreen font sending me into bootloop, I managed to eventually get an update zip that flashed the correct lockscreen font to the phone, and all is well. Except for one annoying thing
I noticed now when I press the power button to wake the phone, the bottom capacitive buttons will light up first, then the display will light up. There's a noticeable lag where there wasn't one before.
Thinking it might be my system, I took a nandroid backup, then factory reset the phone (Settings -> Privacy -> Factory Reset). When it was done reloading the factory restore, I tried turning the screen off and on, delay was still there. I restored my backup, phone was back to normal, but delay was still there.
Any ideas where this delay came from? I'm going to try flashing a few other backups I have and see of they all do it.
I noticed this too. I think it's Virgin Mobile's way of "fixing" the flickering screen problem... just don't let it power on until it's cooled down. Thus we get a slow-to-turn-on screen.

Software deadlock on boot

I'm running stock S3 software, and I hit a snag this morning where the phone was stuck in a reboot/deadlock cycle. It would come up to the lock screen, and after about 10 seconds, deadlock. I was getting ready to wipe the phone, when I got a call from my wife during the brief "uptime" of the phone, which seemed to break the deadlock.
I was able to get what data I could off of the data partition (photos, etc), but now it remained stuck on the same issue on boot. Anyone ever see this before? I had to factory reset the device to get it back to normal.

I replaced my phone, it was working fine for a few weeks, and now this bull**** is back. It gets up into the Touchwiz UI, then hangs for a while, and then resets the UI. This keeps happening repeatedly. I have to boot into the stock recovery and wipe the phone.
Does anyone out there know of anything like this? Are there incompatible apps with the S3 and touchwiz that can cause this? Anyway to debug it?
Thanks,
Mike

[Q] DESPERATE HERE: Phone won't boot after soft reset?

A couple of months back I decided to root my device. I did this using the unlocking the bootloader method. As a result, I lost my DRM keys, and I managed to restore DRM function by following the methods detailed here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony/xperia-z1-z2-z3-series-devices-drm-t2930672
I had to download the stock Android 4.4.4 from online, which I flashed my phone with - no problems. Things ran smoothly from then for about a month, and then I realised that my cellular network started to malfunction, and I couldn't access apps like YouTube and Snapchat on the cellular network. This prompted me today to do a "soft reset" of my phone, by holding the power button and volume up button simultaneously for about 3 seconds - under the impression that it would restore my phone settings back to the factory default.
Much to my horror, the worst case scenario happened. When I performed the soft reset, my phone vibrated 3 times and switched off. When I tried to turn it back on, it would show the boot-up screen indicating "SONY", followed by the next screen indicating "powered by android", and then it would show the blue screen with the wavy lines. It stayed on this screen for about 20 minutes. I figured something was wrong, and I tried to soft reset it again, only to be stuck at the blue screen once again. I decided to let it stay that way for 2 more hours, in order to drain the battery. When the battery drained, I turned it back on, and it was still stuck at the blue wavy screen.
I don't know a whole lot about Android phones, and I have no idea why this is happening, but it is causing me an immense amount of frustration - I have invaluable data on that phone, and to lose it would just be devastating. I can't even begin to describe it. I'm using TWRP recovery, and I'm also using TitaniumBackup which is backed up onto my phone's internal storage, and I can't access any of the files on my phone from my computer, because it doesn't recognise my phone.
This has been a long one, thanks for bearing with me. I've got a few questions:
1. What's the problem that's preventing my phone from booting?
2. How do I fix it?
3. If it's unfixable, how can I retrieve my data from my phone?
Really, really hoping someone can help me out on this - I'm completely lost and am desperate here. Thank you in advance!
Can you boot into TWRP's recovery mode using the volume down key?
Just press volume down when you see the green light on your notification led upon powering on your phone
Well something keeps the phone to boot, try to clean cache in recovery, it might help.
But to restore data on internal storage, count it as unpossible.
