[Q] Permission denied es file explorer - Verizon HTC One (M8)

I am trying to install some convoler presets in viper4android, i have the downloaded .zip and i extract it to get to the .irs file, i copy that file and go to paste it to my viper4android kernal folder where all the other presets are located, every time i attempt to paste it i get this "/sdcard/viper4android/kernal/dolby pro logic ll.irs: open failed: EACCES (permission denied)" This has been so annoying for me i have tried numerous file explorers (currently using es file explorer) and still no success. I am rooted so i don't understand why permission is being denied. is there something that i should be selecting? Btw i am on cm12.1 nightly right now if that might be the problem?
Thanks to all that can help.

[Q] Help needed for bootanimation

Dear all,
I have my eee pad installed with the latest Revolver Rom. I would like to install a custom boot animation. I searched a bit and would like to use ES file manager to create a folder: \Data\Local.
Now, the Data folder is already there but when I try to create a folder, it tells me that I cannot create a folder. I can also not replace the bootanimation under \System\Media.
Is there any way I can get write access here?
You need to allow ES File explorer root access.
Both the data/local and system/media is already there, no need to create any folder. You could also ADB push the file to the location
You can also try an application called Root Explorer (from the market), which works for me. But I've never really used ES File explorer much (there was something I did not like about the UI), so I cannot compare.
Solved!
Thank you for the replies. Indeed, needed to give root access to ES File Eplorer through options in the program.
Cheers!

Question related to Android file permission

I used ES File Manager to edit a .ini file in data/data/org.gaeproxy (a proxy app) and then changed its permission from rw-rw-rw- to r--r--r-- after saving it.
After I opened the app, I checked the property of the .ini file using ES File Manager and was shocked to find the Last Modified field was updated to the right moment when I opened the app. And the editing I made to the file was gone. It seemed to me that the app had overrided the read-only permission of the file and edited its content.
But then I supprisingly found that I was able to modify the same file and save the change while it's still read-only. How is this even possible?
Both ES File Manager and the .ini file have been granted superuser permissions. Is this a possible cause? I've found this annoying problem across different devices and different ROMs. So I think there might be something I need to know about the file permission system in Android.
How can I make this .ini file truly read-only even to the app using it?

Permission Denied

I have android debugging enable and can adb pull items but I can't push items to /system. I keep getting a permission denied error. Also I can't seem to edit or change anything. For instance, I'm using File Manager by Rhythm Software. I'll go to replace bootanimation.zip and I get a "This file dident copy" error tho I can rename it no problem.
I'm running Cyanogenmod 10.

[Q] Cannot Change Permission.

I Want To Add New Boot Animation. I Download One With Zip File I Want To Paste It In System/media Folder. With Root Explorer I Am Not Able To Delete Old File Or Paste New File Or Change Permission. Please Help.
There should be a setting to mount R/W in Root Explorer if I remember correctly...then you should be able to change permissions.
I Checked Everything. Nothing Happens.
Solved : I Download An App Called Mount /System From Playstore And It Worked. Thanks A Lot

I had the same issue, i used this >> https://app.box.com/s/z0a12rt18gm3dtfqqndl
I got it from stock odexed 4.4.2 rom here on xda and please check the sha1sum of the file, it should be 1A008709F0945E8EACA2166D143622EB8D94C3D0
Otherwise the updater script wont install the update, also use es file explorer or any root explorer to replace the file and set permissions to chmod 755 and shell access, more info here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=48333174#post48333174

Just use es file Explorer, cut the file in ur system/bin/debuggerd and take its backup on sdcard, then paste the given file, change the permissions to the one's like given in the second post here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=48353992#post48353992
You should be having root access in es file Explorer with partition mounted as r/w
