Stripped Down Stock Lollipop d0230b ROM for d800!
---- Supports Model d800 ONLY! ----
What this is:
I took the stock d80230b kdz, extracted system. Made the appropriate modifications to run on d800 (basically my ROM patch). Then I gutted the thing by removing just about everything I could (see 3rd post for list of what is/isn't removed). I've been running this for a few days and haven't come across anything that is broken. On first boot I think there are only something like 66-68 apps, and the app drawer is virtually empty.
I added Root and ES File Explorer (because I took stock file explorer out).
What this isn't:
No extra mods!
No customization!
Idea was to keep fully stock experience, just remove all the JUNK!
Wanted to make this to be a good option for using Dorimanx Kernel.
Troubleshooting:
Installation:
I recommend a full wipe in TWRP.
CAUTION: If you don't have TWRP 2.8.7.1, your internal storage may not get formatted correctly, and ROM won't boot!
To install ROM, just flash the zip! (Note: The zip isn't signed.) My zip flashes everything you need for the ROM to work correctly.
Recommended: Flash @dorimanx kernel after install. My zip includes stock 30f kernel.
Go Back to KitKat ROM:
(1) Boot into recovery, flash my KK bootloader zip from my bootloaders page. (I recommend 20y.)
(2) Reflash KK ROM/Kernel/Modem as normal. (Don't forget Modem!)
(3) Wipe data, dalvik, and cache.
(4) Reboot.

I zipped up a file with all the stuff I took out (except the d802 files, because no one on d800 needs those!). It is NOT flashable, it merely contains all of the files. I preserved all of the file permissions, selinux, etc. To properly extract:

Thanks for this! I was just looking for a ROM for my wife's D800, so this is perfectly timed. She's running CM12 now and it just has too many problems. Battery drain, slow camera, etc. I'm gonna flash this one for her this weekend and see how it goes. Thanks!

Work fine in almost everything, but I tried to add a sound in settings and settings.app crash. It's only me or anyone has the same problem. Everything else it's perfert.

Ah I see. I must have removed whatever is used to pick the file. I had same problem with Adding certs in wifi, but fixed that before release, since I found it. For now, use program like zedge to set ringtone from other program (this is what I do and why I didn't find bug).
I will look into how to fix, but not urgent priority

You'd have to find the apk and install it. I don't think it needs anything else on stock ROM, but I'm not sure. I never use it.

This is a great idea, thanks blastagator! I am going to try this out tomorrow.
Has anyone tried encrypting their phone with this? I have heard that the way Android handles encryption in Lollipop is a little different, and an older version of TWRP I was using failed to read /data after I encrypted it. I don't mind doing a .tot reset & reinstall, but it would save time if I ~knew~ it would or wouldn't work. If no one gets back to me I will report on my findings.

At the moment color of clock, date and ticker are black after wipe installation to fix it go to Settings/Extras/UI/Tweaks Extras & Reset UI Tweaks to default You don't neeed to reboot.

How to use Metamorph
Always Nandroid before flashing any theme.
1. Download and install the Metamorph app from the Android market.
2. Open Metamorph, allow checks and Superuser. Press menu, open settings and increase Metamorph Delay to 3500 or so.
3. If this is a new theme, choose Unzip/Extract new theme and navigate to downloaded theme zip file on your SD card.
4. Click on the zip file and Metamorph will extract the theme files automagically.
5. Information about the theme may be displayed. Select "Close" when done.
5. A list of all the sub-themes will be displayed. Click ‘Apply All!’
6. Select "Continue" to apply framework-res themed files.
7. Reboot if it doesn't happen automatically.
Tips:
- Once you have completed all the checks in the Metamorph, you can Disable startup checks in Metamorph settings. You can also Disable the warning regarding framework-res too.
- After you've Metamorphed once, you can delete the theme zip file from your SD card if you'd like. The extracted theme is saved in AndroidThemes on your SD card.

This helps to improve battery life:
1º I always use it for WhatsApp 2G networks, mail, etc. spare me (and I polish the data rate in 2 days) which I do not care.
- Settings - Wireless - Mobile networks - (activated) Use only 2G networks.
2º Always sync manually Market, E-mail or contact (WhatsApp, messenger, etc does not care, are always active).
- Sync settings and accounts - (Off) Reference Data.
3° Off (default is active) GPS in the taskbar. (Where is the Bluetooth and Wifi.) Will make sure that security settings and location is only active Use wireless networks.
4º Inactive animations and screen brightness of the automatic.
5º I have the normal speed processor and 122Mhz minimum.
6º I use the Calibrator's Battery Market (following instructions) and the battery to 100%.
7° With these steps, I increase the battery life.
----- Installation. -----We started the ClockworkMod, we Wipe data / factory reset, Wipe cache, then we enter an advanced Dalvik Wipe Cache and the battery is 100% Battery Status do a Wipe if we do not proceed to make ext3 partition. Advanced, partition SD Card, 1GB and select Swap 0MB (Remember that after partition the SD to copy the rom on the FAT), after doing all that, select the rom to install and expect to complete the process. Once finished the installation process, restart the phone and wait for it to boot the system.

Here's a patch for the bluetooth, I do not to have needed, but if a family member (Parrot CK 5.1).
Patch only if you have problems with a handsfree. Installing via CWM.
1º After installing the ROM, reboot the phone. 2º After restarting the phone and set, install attached file from CWM

I'm having similar fc issue with the new Market, as with r8 every time I open the Market (process.com.android.vending stopped unexpectedly). Market 2.3.6 works ok though.
Other than that, this rom seems to be pretty good. Now also the boot time is fast.
I'm missing the screenshot option from r8 in the power button menu.

Did some benchmarking with AnTuTu 2.1. Based on AnTuTu, v9_r1 is a bit faster than v9_r2. Also, there'e an interesting drop in the InteractiveX governor performance from r1 to r2.

The Rom is based on a German 2.2.1 sbf, so if you want to use the Rom in other Countrys you may must flash another Baseband via OpenRecovery, but i think you know when it is needed.
Here i only will provide the nandroid Version, on a-h.de Forum i also provide a "Addon Pack" to flash over existing 2.2.1 Rom, but its not updated and there are some problems if there not enough space on /system, so if i have solved the problems i also will provide the Addon Pack here, but i recommend to use the nandroid.

Download the nandroid: Froyo_Fast_and_Lite_V4.zip
the nandroid also includes the data partition, dont wipe data after restoring the nandroid, it can cause some proplems and setcpu will not work.
there are some more changes in the nandroid, here is the list:
- Gingerbread Theme with 10% Battery steps, replaced Batterysymbol and 4 way reboot over Powermenu
- Battery charginganimation is smoother
- add Note App (Like MIUI Notes)
- add drocap2 (for screenshots)
- add TaskPanel (little Taskkiller)
I recommend to wipe data/cache and ext partition befor restore the nandroid, also make a nandroid of your existing System.
Most of the deleted System-Apps can be Download here: 2.2.1_GApps
just appy via OpenRecovery, its a flashable zip.
also i recommend to set "Window animations" and "Transition animations" to fast in Spare Parts, the system is smoother with this settings i think.
If you have any Problems, just post here... i hope that there a no bigger issues in the nandroid.

some tweaks may also work for cm7 but i think kabaldan makes a good job to configurate cm7 as best as possible.
I just flashed it and I couldn't even configure WiFi without Settings process constantly FC'ing.
Had to wipe cache and data again after applying the nandroid (yes, I did do the wipes before too).
Now the wallpaper with the ladybug is gone... can't find it - it was in /data, wasn't it?
yes, the wallpaper is in /data/data/com.android.settings/files
i never have problems with WiFi settings, but i also have sometimes fc's when i try to manage my apps, i think is a memory issues, after i kill some apps with taskpanel it works...
if i have some time, i will test some other memory settings or may it helps to use the SuperCharging script, but at the moment i dont have the time to test it
I installed your ROM again from scratch and wiped only the caches before first boot and the errors disappeared - so a data-wipe wasn't necessary.

Hi all nice ROM run very good but I have a trouble with video camera, can't recor a video, when I try record a video the screen is frozen and when I want see the video on gallery can't opent it. I don't know what happen whit it. Maybe only is for me this trouble? And other question, anyone have some troubles with signal ? Some time my device lost the signal for 3 or 5 seconds, after back... Is a little strange.

maybe its a problem with the memorymanagment, i also have some problems when many apps running and try to open a new app it fc's.
video recording i never testet.
you can test if it will helps to set chmod 000 for /system/etc/int.d/08KernelTweaks and 99tweaks, then reboot and test again.
update time
just update some apps and change some settings.
if you update from previous version you can delete data partition from the nandroid, no wipe needed.
if you have problems after restoring, please restore the whole nandroid include the data partition.
play store is updatet to v 4.0.27
i also change some settings, for me now all is smooth and no problems until the last 2 weeks of testing.

hey, just wanted to try out this rom on my milestone but i after flashing the linked gapps zip i keep getting this constant nuance.android.vsuite.vsuiteapp force close message which renders the phone completely unusable.
you can delete the VSuiteApp.apk from /system/app

STORAGE SWAP TOOL:
Storage space is frequent problem with smartphones, so i have created little "tool" to swap/exchange internal sdcard with external sdcard.
It dont fix space problem at 100%, but it gives you some more space for apps. Try it and you will see
NOTE:If you want to swap storages again - in DEFAULT storage layout, simply flash zip again.My tool is intelligent You can flash it any times you want, they always switch actual storages.

You need to have CWM recovery (read how to install carefully again)...And CWM you can install only with rooted phone.... if you try to install my rom via stock recovery, you will fail again.
I tried some Pioneer P80w custom ROM and I didn't like it so I switched to your v2 ROM. Everything works great except there is a boot logo left (just before boot animation) from the previous ROM, some chinese text?! I've tried every possible wipe, but it's still there... Do you know how can I get rid if it? I can't find it using Root Explorer either...

I find tablets to be next to useless without the Android 4.2 multi-user capabilities. That said, I have a Memo 7, and use it primarily to view Netflix streams. I'd love to root/rom it, but I'm afraid I'd lose that crucial capability. Would I?

No, Netflix works rooted without issue. Videos purchased/rented from Google Play store will not be watchable though. You can use a temp unroot program to to make those work.
I don't have and use Netflix so cannot test it sorry.
Maybe this should be in the other thread since this is for the mini ROM only.
I think I need to install 1.1 again, because I miss all the APK files...

The letters and icons are too small after the update.
Settings - Asus MeMo Pad Crew stops immediately.
Asus Weather and time widget also Stops immediately (works after reinstall MiniRom, but doesn't fill the screen).
Some Widget-letters and applications-letters are cut off at the bottom

Testing the new updater-script...now all applications are installed.

I changed the ro.sf.lcd_density to 160 in system/build.prop and now the ASUS Weather widget is OK!
All Icons in the launcher are also as big as usual.
Problems solved!
I still need to clean up the SYSTEM folder in DATA and SDCARD.
