I understand that there are many other posts about this particular issue but very few are solved and even if they are it is usually phone specific. There is no guide for the S6 yet, that I know of so I shall continue
Anyway I tried to flash the stock firmware using Odin to get out of a soft bricked situation. I originally tried to update the software via Smart Switch which failed. Then it asked to perform an emergency recovery via Smart Switch, this also failed spectacularly. Ive tried phoning customer support with no help as it was rooted previously.
Quick summary:
1. I unrooted then factory reset + wipe cache
2. Update via Smart Switch failed
3. Emergency recovery via Smart Switch failed
4. Odin pauses at "NAND write start" when attempting to flash
I have used Odin 3.9 and 1.3 with multiple stock firmwares both .tar.md5 and trying just .tar (it helped another user) with no results
PLEASE HELP AS I DONT WANT A 400 POUND PAPER WEIGHT
Thanks
PevDog

Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. Have you seen this, http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/general/stock-firmware-official-stock-firmware-t3086387? See if that helps. Also, your device specific forum is here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6 They are the experts on your device and should be able to help you.
I'll also close your other post.
Good luck!

I have seen that before, its where I got my stock firmware from. When I click onto the S6 forum you provided I can see no way to post my issue?
I am unfortunately a noob on this site so thanks for your time

If you're opening the link in a browser look towards the top on the left. You should see a "new thread" icon. If you're trying to ask a question in that thread on the lower left is a "reply" icon. Just use that and it will post your question without quoting the previous users text.

Hey guys, I'm new here, so I hope I'm posting this in the right section.
I have been following steps posted in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2609560
I managed to reach point number 8, but when I try to restart my phone, it won't show any "FOTA set of red messages" neither Badadroid logo, just regular Bada 2 gets succesfully loaded. I have no idea what am I doing wrong.
So far I have been trying 2 Roms:
http://www.file-upload.net/download-9315108/cm-11-20140802-wave-poweroff.zip.html
https://yadi.sk/d/C1iIRo1tSVyVF
With both of them I copied related zImage to phone root directory and the whole zip to root directory of SD card.
Then I flashed BOOTFILES and FOTA using Multiloader, both succesfully (using this tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1732287)
https://yadi.sk/d/Yz7_dfpkC6TkC
https://yadi.sk/d/W4RjnjQRC6TfP
It still doesn't work, when I restart, just regular Bada loads. What should I do? Please help me, I am kind of new with this. Thank you in advance!
EDIT: OK, so I figured out that you have to hold END CALL + VOLUME UP to reach CWM. According to tutorial Badadroid logo should remain on the screen for like 5 minutes, but it's just a matter of second till I reach CWM. I installed Rom succesfully from ZIP, but when I restart the phone, it's Bada again :/

Hi,
You've provided me with all the links you need, so asking your questions in the relevant threads you need help with would be what to do now.
XDA Assist is here to help members navigate the site, not support. And you've navigated it already. ?
Good luck!

TY for reply, I didn't know that. I would like to ask in the specific thread, but I'm not allowed to since I am one of "New members (those with fewer than 10 posts)". :/
The way it works now... If you post in a development section, an automatic Q&A thread is created in the Q&A section.
So you can post there. ?
Thank you. Thread closed.
The screen was broken and I give it to a friend to change it, but when he fixed the phone lost the configuration. Just start in Samsung logo and restart in a bootloop. Not access to recovery mode, only download mode. Not recognized IMEI or s/n in kies.
I also try kingo and doesn't work, also several room stock for the model and always have two kind of error: secure check boot and secure check pit..
When I tried odin, the phone stopped and the process for flashing not advanced just get stuck. If I used a pit file for the phone have error. So I need help for this.
thanks
Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. Your device forum can be found here:
Samsung Galaxy Mega
I'd suggest you post your question in the dedicated Galaxy Mega q&a sub-forum here:
Galaxy Mega Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
That way your question will be seen by folks who own your device and therefore are the most qualified to answer your question. In order to post in that section you'll need to create an XDA account, but that only takes a couple of minutes.
Good luck!

"Root my phone" she says, "It will be great" she says...That is what my girlfriend asked me but now I have her phone bricked and can't get it running again. Have rooted multiple android devices before but this one has stumped me. Tried to get old 4.4.4 OS on it using Odin and now I cannot get any OS on it. Even the original stock OS I cannot get loaded on, which I would happily take.
Things you should know:
-Samsung Galaxy S5 Verizon edition
-Using Odin v 3.10.06
-Using md5 and .tar SM-G900V
-Phone can go into Recovery/Download Mode
-Odin sees phone and recognizes it, but when trying to load on OS it gives error failed.
Ask me for any other info, I would be happy to get it rooted, not rooted, custom ROM, just anything to get it running again.
Thank you very much.

Hello and thank you for using XDA Assist.
Sorry to hear about your trouble but we cannot provide technical support nor can other members reply to your posts here on XDA Assist. Fortunately there is an XDA area dedicated to the Verizon Samsung Galaxy S5 at http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s5 which would be a good starting place. I suggest you post your question with all relevant details in the friendly Q&A forum there at http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s5/help where the experts familiar with your device will be best able to guide you. Make sure to follow directions intended for the Verizon variant and not a generic S5 since your model's locked bootloader brings a few additional limitations.
Good luck!

Thanks a bunch, will do.
Hey Guys! So here's my problem today... You see my friend wanted a new ROM for his galaxy Y. And I, being a geek; accepted. Now when I flashed CWM, it worked fine at first but when I tried to reboot it at the CWM menu it says "Root access is missing. Root device. THIS CANNOT BE UNDONE." and there are 2 options either "-No" or "Yes - Root device (/system/xbin.".. Now, no matter what I choose it still wont boot up completely and open CWM. How do I fix this??? I don't want to ruin my friends new phone!! HELP!
It's title is "CWM-based recovery V6.0.5.3"
Thank you for using XDA Assist.
You should be asking your question in the device specific forum or in the forum for the Rom you are using. In most Development sections of each device specific forum you will find a thread on recoveries you can also ask in there or in the Q&A section for the device.
XDA Assist is here to guide you and point you in the direction you need to go.
We do not provide solutions or guides. We are a Developers site for Developers. Users are required to search and research their information. Please make sure you read everything and truly understand it before attempting to alter your very expensive device, in this case your friends.
Thank you and good luck
Ragnar
P.S. I will tell you that you should have selected NO when it first asked you if the device was already rooted, which it must have been since you installed custom recovery.

I don't have this device myself but, within the following area of the forum that's specific to your device and variants...
https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x
... there's a number of various threads that should be helpful for what you're looking for.
The following thread is just one of them that may, hopefully, help you out (please note the last post there with instructions and even a video).
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2629057
If all else fails, you can always try to obtain some member guidance within the following Q&A thread that's specific to your device and variants as well.

Good Luck!
