Other Info
*Alright guys, after seeing a lot of people post random bugs without providing basic information or logs, I decided to make a simple little write up on some basic rules to the thread.
1. Be courteous to one another & try & be helpful when you can. I can't answer every single question as I'm very busy trying to build the best rom I can make for you guys, so if you know a solution to a problem please answer.
2. If you are using xposed, DO NOT POST BUGS! I have already seen people posting issues only to find out it was due to xposed or one of it's modules.
3. When posting bugs, do so with as much information as possible. We can't help you if you don't give the proper information.*
*****
**** What version or the rom are you on?
**** Clean or dirty install?
**** Mainline or Ultimate kernel?
**** Are you using a theme?
**** If you dirty flashed & have problems, did you try a clean install?
*****
4. If you are having random reboots how about providing a log? These are invaluable as they provide the information to fix a real issue with the rom or to tell me that it is a user error.
5. If you are new to aosp or just don't know much about kernels, it is best to stick with the mainline kernel as it is very stable. No need to mess with the settings either as I have the kernel setup to enjoy out of the box.**

Congratulations for that @srisurya95 . Sorry for the off topic, but have you ever been able to mount the Moto G sd card as MTP or Mass Storage on TWRP?

Hi! Thanks for your work...
I installed it a few minutes ago, and I need say that the rom is very unstable.
1- The launcher restart after a few seconds of use.
2- When you press the volume buttons (up or down) the phone freezes for a moment. SOLVED: Just disable "Slim Recents" (I just disable it and the problem has gone....)
3- Camera doesn't work (it just says "camera is being used by other app).
4- Slim Recents Panel doesn't work too.. but I use the other one...
(and it logs A LOT... xD)
I did a clean install, stock kernel, no extra mods (for the moment)
I'll take a log...

Yep, first boot, Slim Recents don't appears on right side.
After a few reboots camera works, launcher works good now, volume buttons doesn't freezes the phone now (I disabled Slim Recents and it worked immediately)...
Well, everything is fine now, apparently "Reboot the phone" is the solution for some "bugs"
Thanks for this rom, I'll keep using this rom the rest of the day, and I'll report back.

This is an unofficial build of LiquidSmooth. Enjoy it until a official build comes in the future.
This is my first project on XDA. Kindly bear with me if there are any mistakes... I'm learning all this stuff . Any help/constructive criticism is appreciated.

I will release a new build tonight Hope it fixes the systemUI FC
Thanks for the efforts and your hard work!! Was waiting for this ROM.
Most of the things I have tried are working quite well at the moment. But I have noticed one thing, you can't access the advanced options in Display. Therefore disabling the wake gestures (DT2W etc). At the bottom of this screenshot you will be able to see that I can't scroll down anymore because the settings aren't there. Screenshot:

OrionOS is a project based on slim. The name Orion was chosen as a representation of the beauty and vastness of world around us (Too much Philosophy, eh? ). We started this project for falcon (Moto G), to make a stable Rom which would include Bitsyko layers and important customization. The Rom is built with Uber toolchain which delivers awesome smoothness and is packed with a custom kernel built from ground-up to ensure good performance [WIP]. Needless to say, this project is a product of our hobbies and the love we bore for Android.

It means go into wipe menu.... Select advanced wipe..... Tick cache , dalvik/ART cache , system and data..... Then swipe to wipe... Then go back to main page... Go to install... Go wherever u have saved that ROM.... Flash the ROM.... Then flash gapps (use latest gapps and use nano gapps).... Then reboot system.... The ROM boot should take time so be patient....
Thanks for the info. Has anyone tried this ROM? How is the battery life compared to Official CM 14.1 ?

:good::good:Hats off Carlos Arriaga
I was already using XOSP ROM from for Marshmallow.
You really did a great thing
The ROM is working fine there is not an issue with Battery on Camera or any other thing
Only thing that I came in front of me while using this ROM was that secondary SIM is getting disabled after 5-6 hours of usage.
While using CyanogenMod 14.1 Nightlies I was not facing this issue.
It might be there from source ROM might be.
New build is up!
+ Sync beanstalk source
Download in the op
Have been using this ROM for more than a month!
Flawless and I would have to say its the most stable ROM on nougat available with some basic features!!
Nice work Devs! Thanx!
One request: Please add a good audio mod(viper,Dolby, etc) and add kernel for better battery performance and speed.☺
Please update this Rom @Carlos Arriaga

This ROM is great! It's smooth and and packed with really cool features. A big upgrade over the basic AOSP 7.1.2 ROM I was using before. Thanks for porting it over to our N7!
BUT, I'm experiencing a problem. I've found that my tablet is randomly rebooting. I've caught it doing so twice (in the middle of rebooting), and at least once a day when I pick up my tablet and go to unlock it, I see "Pin required after restart".
I've attached a screenshot of the battery graph below. You can see there are gaps in it.
I'm using a Substratum theme called Swift Black, but I don't think that's the issue. I used it before on AOSP and it didn't cause any problems.
Hopefully it's an app that's causing this and not the ROM. I really like this ROM and the features it comes with.
Thanks again for bringing us a great rom!

100% agree. I've given AndDiSa's ROM a whirl, and it's great - so fast and great battery, but I miss some really basic things like the advanced reset, and simple customisation. I've been using TureX's Lineage ROM recently, which seems to be a good in-between in the meantime. I'll give these ones more consideration when the latest security patches are applied.

Could you leave a link to TureX's ROM by any chance? I am facing random restarts with this ROM and would love to try out TureX. Thanks!

My pleasure it actually has the April 2019 security patches so you will still be pretty secure and safe to use this rom without having to worry about your device or accounts getting hacked or tampered with. Hope this helps and if you plan on testing the rom make sure to use my gapps so you don't run into problems installing gapps
If you have any suggestions for other nougat based roms for grouper let me know via pm or here on this thread so i can make them for everyone. I plan on making a aicp nougat build for grouper next. I also plan on making aosip nougat for grouper also. I don't want to make tilapia builds unfortunately since i dont have that much free time anymore. Cheers!
Congratulations @JT1510365 !
We have another working and responsive ROM for the grouper Nexus 7, that's 3 now. We're so lucky to have the choice for our ageing device! I followed your instructions and installed the ROM no problems. It's smooth and functional, I would recommend it. Well done and thank you so much for building it :good:

Your welcome and my pleasure! My only issue with the ROM was chrome wasn't loading webpages at all so i downloaded this version from apk mirror instead and now it loads webpages just fine. Another issue i saw was substratum won't apply dark mode for some reason. Other than that i have no other issues with the ROM.

I get setup wizard has stopped working. My Install
Format Data
Installed rom
Installed bean gapps linked in first post.
Reboot (I did not installe Magisk)
I followed this guide to give permissions to Setup Wizard: https://forum.xda-developers.com/cr...one-general/fix-setup-wizard-stopped-t3274219
But I get the same error. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
Edit
Did above again but also installed Magisk 20.4. Then it worked and no issues with setup wizard ?

Glad you got it working. I have uploaded an updated version of my gapps package that does not include the setup wizard so you dont have to worry about it. You actually don't need the setup wizard and it just takes up more space in system. But your fine with your current setup i guess but if anyone has anymore trouble just download the new gapps i made and then do a full clean flash rom install again. Download is below.

VanirAOSP nougat is coming to grouper next
Just installed this and it's working smoothly - thanks!
I see there's a theme option, but only a choice between white and black. Is it possible to use a custom colour, or just a dark theme (rather than full black)?
What's VanirAOSP and how does it differ to Viper? It's great to have options!
Great, another rom for my nexus7! Fantastic!

Hey everyone I have been building and modifying the following ROMS for grouper for you all:
VanirrAOSP Nougat
crDroid Nougat
OctOS Nougat
XOSP Nougat
Updated build of Lineage 14.1 at some point
I am proud to say that all those ROMs I listed for you all have been tested and they all work perfectly fine on our N7 Grouper
Just wait patiently and in the next couple of days or weeks they will be ready to be shared but until then I still have to modify them to make sure everything works as expected Also i am very busy at the moment with other things but i will try my best to get them released
Cheers
Big fan of Oct OS !!!!!

I love that you're making a bunch of ROMs available for our ageing device, but will you be continuing to maintain each of these, or are they 'one hit wonders', so to speak?
Would be great if they could have the latest security patches - that's the most important benefit of recent ROM releases, imo.
