Hey,
Time has come to change my z1compact. In few days I'll be changing it for either g4 or s6.
Now, I don't use my phones to watch YT or play games so the differences between cpu are not as important to me. The game changes with camera, I like g4's stock camera settings (shutter speed, iso). I know s6's 5.1 camera, with help of third party app, should provide all the g4's features (with better results?) Could someone provide me with info from ' manual camera ' and 'fv5 camera' apps on shutter speed, iso? With some light trail snaps if possible.
Second thing, is there anything I should pay attention to while getting the s6?(like checking the camera sensor or scratches on the screen)
Thanks for any help
Some recent Camera FV-5 info in this thread

I am also looking to find out about longest shutter speed available in the 3rd party apps

Alright so I've been doing some searching and cant really find anything so here's my question
Which ROM Makes best use of the Camera Hardware for the Nexus S 4G
To go further into detail im an avid user of the Stock Camera App
I'm not much of a fan of these other camera apps that are just bulked up with filters and all that jazz.
The only Other App that i use when taking pictures is LG Camera which gives me a lot of features for controlling the photo before its taken
I've tried a decent amount of other apps like "Camera 360" "Streamzoo" "HDR Camera+" "Camera ICS" and obviously "Instagram"
I do know each app has its strengths and weaknesses i do switch around between most of them
But what im looking for is more Camera Control.
Theres a ton of apps out there but apps can only do so much with what the system will allow it to do so thats why im wondering if anyone knows of any roms that give the user the most out of the camera.
Example:
Jelly Bean and Cyanogenmod - Gives the user touch to focus which i love because ICS didnt give that to its users ( with the exception of a few apps)
Are there any other users out there who love taking pictures and have wanted more features and options to mess around with for there camera?
Do you know if any other ROMS possibly up the quality of the photos taken?
Are their any ROMS that Possibly Give me access to more features in my Camera that i can Manually Change and not have the camera AUTO judge what the best settings are..
I love when to have the options to do things manually like change the Focus distance, ISO, Aperture, Shutter Speed. Things like that.
^ Probably best sums up my question
Any and all help is always appreciated. Cant wait to see if you guys can lead me in the right way

There's nothing, sadly. You are pretty much "stuck" with what you've named so far.

Hi,
I tried several camera apps and there are many good ones. But i miss one feature which only is available in panorama apps and starts working from the second picture.
When i look back at the pictures, i notice the horizon is not always horizontal. So, i'm looking for an camera app with the level feature in it. For example it beeps when i hold the phone horizontal. Is there such an app ?
thanx.

Actually I completely agree with you. It is fairly childish but honestly Note 2 on CM11 this app works better than the currently alternative. Hence my excitement
Missing options
i do have an issue, there's no panorama, and no photo sphere, even tho i have this options on my cm11 camera
Apparently Google is leaning towards "dumbing things down" by removing the more complex capabilities in some of their native apps by making them so simplistic as to literally become "point and shoot," especially with respect to this particular camera app. But when you think about it, the overwhelming majority of smartphone owners want just that: a device that works, that's simple to use, and doesn't require a huge set of menu options to just "point and shoot" and get good/useful results so, I suppose it's a winner in that manner for sure.
Tried it a few times, doesn't seem particularly special or useful over some other camera apps like Focal or others. Doesn't seem to do HDR natively and there's no option to enable it so that relegates this app to "ok, I tried it and then I uninstalled it" status for me.
For me its not better than LG G2 modded cam app.
The issue with me is that the CM11 Camera app gets stuck too often hence this is a great alternative
It is good, the only problem for me is when the flash is on and I tap to focus and than to take a picture theres a lag of about 5 seconds. Anyone have this problem? Also no HDR mod, and my camera have that option.
I'm having FC on settings option, on carbon kitkat in Samsung i9070.
love the lens blur mode. Any more cam apps that have this option?
I like it.
Yes the settings option does FC the app but honestly at this current moment, its better than the default camera app.
actually, the only setting i would change is 16:9 ratio, nothing else.
if some1 knows a shortcut for this...?
Good to know, may need to try this out, with custom roms i found a few the camera app always frooze or crashed

I've tried to change the settings thru the preferences files saved in \\data\data\com.googleCamera\shared_prefs\, but I couldn't change the resolution to the max, only the grid, flash, etc.
I want to change the "photosphere" and the "lens blur" to max resolution.
Any Idea?
let me try
Going to download it now and give a try in my grand i9082
I'll be trying it out on my Galaxy S2 with PACROM 4.4.2
Someone minds uploading it somewhere and sharing the link, I can find it on play store but it says its not available in my country I find that weird as its just a camara application...
Thanks in advance...

Anyone know any good camera apps with a fast shutter.
Thanks
Well an app with fast shutter is going to do you no good unless you know your phones camera can support that function.
Using CM12.1 on my SGH-T999
Camera apps are mess right now
I have tried few but then went back to my default ones on each device
I love the Samsung s6 camera app
There are few third party camera apps that have worked differently on my devices and it's pretty understandable as different devices have different camera sensors and the default camera apps are optimised for their respective sensors
Hi, the Pixel 7 Pro camera app skimps on functionality. Do you know
a Gcam modification (easy to install even for non-nerds)
another camera app
offering more?
Other camera apps perhaps can only address the P7P's main camera, but that would be at least something. A one-off payment for the app would be ok; not ok would be subscriptions and advertising.
The functions mentioned below aren't needed always, and some never need them or find them damaging. But other mobiles like Huawei or Samsung have a "Pro" mode – I like that, and an SLR like camera app would be great. (I want to keep the P7P and not get another phone.)
What I Miss in the P7P Camera App:
manual ISO and shutter speed
manual focussing including enlarged preview
focus peaking (colour overlay in focussed area)
histogram when snapping
permanent light instead of flash (torchlight mode) (ideally permanent light with changeable brightness and colour)
HDR
flash should work when sliders for brightness/contrast have been used (it doesn't on the P7P)
flexible timer (like 5 snaps with 3 seconds interval, adjustable)
The free app Open Camera offerst most of those functions above incl. manual focus, permanent light, focus peaking. But that app is very confusing. Free app Cymera at least offers permanent light.
And they say that Gcam has an especially good image quality. I didn't test that yet. Anyway an enhanced Gcam would be interesting. I know I could snap RAW files, but I prefer JPGs out of the box, and good ones at that.
So, if you can recommend (or warn against) alternative camera apps for the P7P? Thanks!
Hope we can come up with some useful suggestions. I'm interested in this as well.
Open Camera does also offer manual shutter speed and iso control if you use the camera 2 api.

Yes, as i wrote above, it offers almost all of my requirements. I just find it very confusing and i think it doesn't use the other cameras - it offers a zoom slider, but i think it's only digital zooming from the main cam.
Dunno if this is what you're looking for but I came across this BSG Mod recently.

I am not sure if even understand all of that. It seems i need to be in Telegram (groups) to read the proper information.
Hello, these two apps use all 3 rear cameras and offer more than the installed Gcam Standard:
Filmic Firstlight
ProShot
Both are paid apps, but there are free versions.
Free Filmic Firstlight takes only 8 MP pics, and i wonder about other differences (info is scarce or confusing). 3 cameras are used in free version. Supersmooth switching between manual/auto exposure and between manual/auto focussing, with zebras and peaking automatically displayed - better than any other app i've seen.
ProShot before paying gives you an "Evaluator" from which you can start a demo version. It seems quite clear that it uses all 3 cameras. Offers "torchlight mode" and manual shutter speed, IIRC.
Open Camera, as said before, uses only the main cam and is confusing. There is a slight variation of that app called Hedecam, perhaps a tad less confusing, but not a charm either. Great offers for various sizes and styles of histograms.

Open Camera can use all of the three cams, I've tested it. You've just configured it wrong
Juar use bsg latest, changed the main setting to raven and it will work fine.

I tried these and Filmic First light limits me to a maximum exposure time of 1 second, did you face any issue like that?
