Repartitioning Micromax A110 - Micromax A110

Hello mates. after a lots of guide searches i finally learnt how to repartition your Micromax A110. So i have made two flash files to partition our Micromax A110. First one is to make System partition 768 MB and Cache partition 256 MB, Fat and Data partition are stock ones. The 2nd file makes System partition 512 MB, Cache partition 55 MB, Data partition 3GB and Fat partition 2 MB. 2nd file is useful if you are upgrading your device to android KitKat as Fat partition is not mounting in Micromax A110 running on KitKat as of now. File name of both files also contains the partition size details. Plaese follow the proper procedure to avoid freezing your device.
Instruction :-
1. Take backup of your data, system and boot in recovery mode.
2. Flash the file in recovery mode ( i recommend TWRP ), don't reboot device yet.
3. Reboot the device in recovery mod again and do a wipe data factory reset.
4. Now wipe all remaining partitions manually (except sd card).
5. Now flash any rom u like to, or simply restore the backup.
6. If all goes well, you can reboot your device now.
Note :-
1. You don't need to flash both files, just flash one which u like.
2. Don't forget to backup before flashing the file.
3. Fat is referred to internal storage of device.
4. Feel free ask questions.
5. Hit thanks if i helped you.
Happy Partitioning !

do we have to do both of them???

Yes sure
Yes bro this will fix your problem for sure, 3gb is enough for internal memory and installing apps.

No bro u don't need to use both files, use which one you like. Both of them partition the memory in different sizes.

I'm pretty sure this isn't due to ram, the problem is caused by low power gpu. We can't load injustice. But I found that gpu performance was a bit better on kitkat rom, so upgrading your phone to kitkat might solve the problem.

any kitkat rom which can get my external sdcard to work as well. since dragonpt rom dont support external sdccard

who says it dose'nt support external sd card. i used this rom and it works flawsless. only internal storage isn't mounting, but it also have emulated internal storage. so the rom uses data partition as apps installation and internal storage as well. so the 2nd file will partition your data as 3gb, thats good for superdragonpt's rom. it does support external sd bro.

take a look
u can confirm here http://forum.xda-developers.com/micromax-a110/development/rom-mmx-a110-t2972561

the only support of external sdcard i got was saving pictures and nothing else. the app and its large data wouldnt transfer to external sdcard. that why if i tried to install large game like spiderman or injustice it wouldnt install due to space shortage.
so which this partition i can access my external sdcard right. as i would like to use 4gb atleast of my external sdcard to install my app n its data. maybe i will later get 32gb sdcard for a newer phone.

storage swap patch
there is a storage swap patch availble, but i have not tested it on current version of rom kitkat v1.1 i mean. u can give a try to it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=57010440&postcount=193

thx but i need to know if i change my sdcard from 8gb to 16 or 32gb in future, what method i must do, or how to revert back as well.
and thx u for all the help

bro u don't need do any sofware changes if u want to use a new sd card. Simply just remove your old sd card and insert new one, that's it

Create partitions using Minitools partition wizard. Create ext4(256-512) and linux swap(0-128) partitions. Switch off your phone. Put the SD card in, trboot into recovery and wipe data. And then reboot.

Coul you just elaborate about the Linux swap file? Is it just like the virtual memory on the SD Card? Suppose if we have 16GB card and create larger EXT4 partitions, would we have to still create Linux swap partition of just 128MB?
For those who facing problem of low internel memory(ROOT REQUIRED)
No need to partition SD card
1) install the app
2) backup with titanium backup
2)uninstall the app
4) go to titaninium backup->Preferences->Restore Backup to->externel media
5) Restore the app with Titanium backup,,
by app2sd u can verify location where the app installed.
And your memory will never go low.. u can manage easily..

Through this way without partition, i guess the apps would be installed in FAT32 partition of the SD Card which is comparatively much slower to EXT4.

Recommended is 128 MB. 128 MB is more than enough. Swap basically is storage place which can be used as memory by the operating system when system RAM is low.
logi or prima

[Q]How to expand my expand storage capacity?

Hi can someone properly guide me how to expand my storage capacity on my galaxy fit with razordoid v4.
I have checked other threads but they are more or less confusing... :/
I'd appreciate if someone could put the apps i need and the steps required in order to do that.
Thank you very much for the support!
Do you have a sd ext partition?
If not, refer the guide in my sig...
From what i know, razodroid has a memory hack, so you just need a working sd partition...
Do not use Link2sd or other apps, since razodroid should set up the memory hack itself...

In your guide you mentioned ext3, but on razordroid i see that they talk a lot about ext4. What is all that about ?
Ext 3 and 4 are different file systems...
When you format system while installing a custom rom, cwm partitions it to ext4...
And when you partition sd with cwm, then the sd partition is ext3...
Try it...

If raj has given specific instructions on partitioning, then follow those (tell me also)...my guide is as general as it can be...

Hardly found any specific advice about that so i'll stick to the basics and i can't post on the dev forum yet (new member limitation or smth) to ask directly there.
Atm i am backing up my system and application data for making the partition.
Also regarding your thoughts on shdc maybe in 1-2 years UHS-I and II will work with smartphones for faster transfer rates.
Its very easy.
Just do backup of all your sd card data(copy all your sd card to your pc).-IMPORTANT
Then boot in clockwork mod recovery and go in partition sd card option.(Its in mount and storage or advanced)
Then it will ask for your confirmation to format sd card. Selact yes.
Then you will be asked to set the value of partition. Then select 1024M(which means 1gb)
Then proceed further. Partitioning takes quite a long time so dont panic.
After its done and after rebooting device, in settings>sd card and phone storage, you will find that the sd card total space will be 1gb lesser than before(ex. If u have 7.32gb memory then it will become 6.32gb)
This tells that partition is complete. Now flash razodroid 4 and the memory hack patch and you will get 1gb of internal memory
Best of luck
K did all that but:
i had already installed razordroid v4. And although the partition was made ( i chose only 512, not that it would matter) it didn't increase the internal storage with 512. Can i do that manually? I woudn't want to flash razord again....

If you chose 512m then its ok. Ultimately it depends on users choice. And internal memory will become 512 mb only. The rom itself takes some internal memory by which you will not see complete 512 mb remaining under the internal phone storage option.

You would have to flash razo again...
The memory hack is implemented at first boot...

Partition isn't "soft"...
Even after data wipe, your partition shall remain, though it would be wiped too...
And just check how much internal memory you have...(from the default task manager)...
@people who've flashed razo - memory hack isn't optional...??

I have the same problem. I made a partition of 1 gb, i can see it is mounted, and when i flash razodroid, the internal memory is 178 Mb, But the sd card shows 1gb less. What can I do?
Can someone who has flashed the rom say whether memory hack is included or optional?
Typed using a small touchscreen
In the dev page raj says that it is included..
Its not included in the rom. It needs to be flashed seperately. But i hav not tried it.

Once you have partitioned your sd card you will always see and have 1gb less memory.

This explains it then...
Its not included, so either flash the memory hack, or use your preferred hacks/scripts/apps to make use of your sd ext partition...

Buddy you must have observed that out of this 4gb only 2.5 gb is available to the user and the rest is allotted to system, cache and data partition.
So there is no way through which you can get a whole 4gb as single partition.
To know more about space occupied by different partitions write this command in terminal emulator.
df /cache(for cache)
df /system(for system)
And so on...
Hope you get it
Good question

Yes it is possible but i don't like messing up with partitions because i have enough space for my use.
You can also swap internal by replacing voldf.stab file located in etc with the edited one.

[Q] HELP ME : "Storage almost full"

Hi guys,
My phone has root, SD card is 8Gb has great partition 1Gb for ext3, up rom Sense 5 EX Build#6-V1 of …. or JaggyRom_3.2.1 … that is ok
But few days ago when I up rom sense 5 v3: notification when phone stated is “Storage almost full”. I check Internal Storage: available space is less than 1Mb. I can’t action anything on my phone except call & message. Available space of SD storage is no problem
The first, I think the reason by rom, but when I up any other rom, the problem is the same. I don’t know what to do
Pls help me!
Sorry my bad english
You also need to install a memory script like mounts2sd or int2ext to make the phone move files from internal storage to the ext partition on sdcard. (Although newer ROMs come with built in support)
I assume you've already installed some such app, in which case you might have to configure it to move dalvik cache and data to external.

[Q] Micromax Unite 2 - Rooted and Internal SD card

Hi ,
I really need a help !! I bought the new Micromax Unite 2 A106 and some how with the help of XDA forum i successfully rooted (installed supersu from recovery - i flashed recovery with scatter some method found from the forum). Now i have few questions which really i am dying to know., please help me
I am using 8 GB SD card (Class 4)., partitioned as 1st partion FAT32 ~4GB and 2nd partion as EXT4 ~4GB
Questions:
1. From settings -> storage, my mobile is showing.
1.1 Internal Memory ( Total: 1.89 GB out which i almost used every thing)
1.2 External SD card (Total: ~4 GB)
1.3 Internal SD card (Total 1.97 GB out of which nothing is used)
My EXT4 memory is not show., But in Link2SD Storage-info it is show (also mounted some were on /data/sdxta2)
With out help of Link2SD, Before installing apps... In settings -> storage i selected "Internal SD" as default installation location. Tried to install many apps nothing goes into Internal SD memory (Total 1.97 still seems to be free) which is accessible from file explorer.
With help of Link2SD, created a mount script in EXT4 partion... After reboot Link2SD didn't give any error for mount script., In Link2SD created "link" for apps and it asks for a reboot.. after reboot., the app is not show in android., but i can see they have been linked /data/sdxta2.
I don't understand why linking apps disapper and why can't i use that Internal SD memory of ~ 1.97 GB for apps installation.
Thanks a ton guys !!! your help will save my Unite 2 & Me

dear frd,
i have got the same problm successfully rooted with ctr recovery but whn i tried for link2sd i had lots of problms many times i reformated my 32gb card its little bit risky too who knws what will happen after any step after making and trying all typs of ext 2 3 and 4 also fat32 partition the second one i found the same thing after asking permission for second partition n reboot it disappears all installed/linked apps so if u r unable to get them plz go for the remount option of the link2sd settings that is the 1st one which will manually ask to link again second partition just select fat32/fat optn it will again suggest to reboot after that u will get all ur apps back that u have installed and u can make them systm app / even uninstalling the many unwanted apps. strictly i m saying u that plz dont make any risky action like trying apps from chinese link even if it is available in english it i.e mtk partition typ app dont remembr the name was ok it will make ur android in boot u cant do anythg after that u will only go for service center they will make just update ur fon and it will be fine but plz dont try risks wipe/factory reset can make cache/recovery unvailable to mount fon will not start and error to mount ex sd too....huh final words to say i hve read that kitkat doesnt support link2 extrnl sd service so w8 for other developers to make change and untill that try above 1st 3 lines only i will help many other hope its helpful for u developers thanks for initiating and working on micromax unite 2
note=after linking to fat32/fat secound partition by the remount link option in link2sd app u will be able to make/move system app to internal sd too or u can make it for external microsd card, along it uninstall unwanted apps n make some visual affects by making launcher n docks converted to system app and can remove the default launcher too i m using galaxy s5 launcher/docks and remember dont try if what u dont meant so for uninstalling
again thanks you,developer
Be sure what u doing it may brick ur fon coz warrenty voids after root u already knw this.
Solved
Hello,developer
i m very happy to say that my struggle made apps to link sd-ext 4 , was nervous performing again recovery flash n root too after updating my mmx unite 2 From service center Thn i installed link2sd app having 2;partition on mh 32gb m sd card. I made 2gb sd-ext by formatting same method of using tool mini partition on pc with card reader and rest is Fat32 Partition whixh is the 1st part both r made primary type so started with link2sd 1st i allowed ext4 Permission by superuser than rebooted the fon as it suggested thn uncheckd settings making installation to automatic storage mode thn i installed apps simply n moved towards settings changed it to external storage location from automatic and just started to click on app n clicked for link i have pro version it made all dalvic cache along with data n apps library to sd-ext n rebooted. Thn i found the apps were..disappear and thn from the remount option tht i suggested before, checkd for fat32/fat optn before rebooting checkd all library settings too n rebooted n apps were visible this tym, storage info was showing sd-ext is not mounted again from remount links library optn from link 2 sd checked this tym for ext 4 Type partition n rebooted. Aftr tht mounted 2nd partition was
showing used storage i.e apps got linked to ext-sd n now i have More thn 2gb intrnl memory hope it will help u
thank u
