Roaming - mobile data regularly disconnected - Xperia Z3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I have a french plan with roaming data included since I work in Luxembourg.
In France I have no issue with mobile data, it's always connected as expected. Whenever I cross the border and switch to the luxemburgish carrier my mobile data gets regularly disconnected, even if I have a very good signal. I then have to way a couple of minutes to get the connection back.
Do you know what could happen ? Is there any other baseband I could try, or a way to narrow down the source of the issue ?
Any idea is welcome.
Thanks

Any idea?

nope that should to be to easy thx for the quick reply
okay, lets see...
You installed the MZ601 version of the rom.
Airplane Mode 'Vliegmodus' is 'UIT', right?
Wifi is also turned off or at least not connected?
when you go to Instellingen -> Over tablet -> Status, under 'Netwerk' it states your Provider (Vodafone?), under Signaalsterkte it tells you something like -79dBm 97asu? Type mobiel netwerk should be something like HSDPA:11 or UMTS:3? And 'Status mobiel netwerk' still says 'Verbinding verbroken'?
If 'Status mobiel netwerk' states 'Verbonden', how exactly do you determine if you are not connected to the internet?
by the status it says
no connection
network kpn
signal strengt
umts:3
service in use
i have the same with my vodafone sim card

[Q] Disable Roaming "R" icon in status bar.

I am using an MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator), so I have always had to activate "Data Roaming" in order to be able to establish a connection over the mobile data network.
Usually in my S3 which i was using before, I could see a sign next to the reception gauge which indicated me which mobile data standard my device was using at the moment (H+/E/G), even when I was roaming at these times.
Nowadays on my new Nexus 5 with stock Android 4.4 I am justing being shown the "R" sign next to the gauge, without any indicator for the standard it is using at the moment (LTE/H+/E/G).
Is there a way to disable the roaming indicator ? can anyone tell me or create a xposed module for the same if possible ?
thanks in advance. it is such a small issue but its annoying since i dont get full connection always and want to check whether i am getting 2g or 3g
Are u using Lycamobile?
Which country & network are you in?
My operator is a MVNO in the UK, but don't get the Roaming flag.
That said, when I was living in India if I travelled to a different state it would behave as you're saying - so wonder if it's more related to that than the fact it's an MVNO?
Yes am using Lycamobile and I live in Virginia, USA
Sent from my Nexus 5 using xda app-developers app

Hi,
I have the same problem in Spain, also using a VMNO and on stock ROM I also get the R.
When I was using customer made roms (Cyanogenmod or AOSP based) this did not happen as in the settings menu there was an option of setting National Roaming.
I am using another different device than yours (Xperia V), but it is a common problem. If anyone knows a solution, perhaps with an Xposed Module, or whatever it would be very helpful
Thanks
Same problem, I miss the data indicator while roaming
This app helped to solve my problem. It's a network monitor but it also indicates on which data network you're on.
It's called "2G 3G 4G LTE Network Monitor" available in Play Store
I have a similar problem. Not on an MVNO, but I'm using an unlimited Telmex plan in Mexico, which give lets me use my phone and data normally when roaming in Canada and US, so i really don't care to know that on roaming, but i would like to know what sort of data connection i have, if any.

WiFi and Network Bars [ORANGE COLOR]

My WiFi and Network Bars are orange in color and I am not able to use WiFi.
I can access the router using it but no connection with internet is established.

The orange indicates that you are not receiving or sending data. You may be connected to the cell network or wifi network but it's not sending or receiving data.

Thanks, I always wondered about this too... although it's never bothered me.
Everything is working fine. My same WiFi is working on other devices.
Other WiFis are working on Nexus too.
Network has full strength

Have you tried reseting the router or forgetting the wifi off the device and then reconnecting.

Do you need to set your APN up correctly for your network provider?
I know I had to do that for a MVNO I use here in Australia recently on my N5.
I found the problem (in my case) I had to reduce the preferred data protocol to 3g instead of LTE. Everytime my tablet got LTE connection it lost it's connection... Airplane modus on and off, and then reconnect... 5 min later.. bang... After I tuned it down to 3G this stopped...

Mobile data connection issues while roaming

Hi,
I'm running superman rom on my french GS7 and I have lately faced issues with the mobile data connection while roaming. My connection settings are correct and the connection sometimes works, but most of the time (not always in the same area) it simply doesn't connect. I have tried to restrict to 3G but it didn't help...
Any idea ?
Anyone could help please? I'd like to know how to debug it to figure out whether it comes from the rom, my settings or my provider..

Flash stock and factory reset, then you'll have the answer to all three
