Most probably Xperia J will remain at Android 4.1. Sony never update budget phones beyond.

It would be great if there is a fix on walkman volume and ringtone problem, i just started hating my xperia J after jb update..
Today I received an update but its a normal one to the same version..
Is the new update for Xperia J ready???

Hi guys i just read at xperiablog and they said that our phones will not get another update from sony..u guys can check the official sonymobile software support page..but i've noticed something..that only xperia e didn't have android version overview..other had it and it says 'latest and final version' means it will not get any other update from sony anymore..will xperia e had another update from sony maybe??

I agree with Sony... Xperia J is "old" device,they need to focus on new one. We must be happy,we get 3.4 kernel and JB. Isn't this enough for a phone like is Xperia J (with just 1ghz,375mb of ram,blablabla..) ? :cyclops:

Today i saw an article on Android Police http://www.androidpolice.com/2014/02/04/sony-announces-end-of-life-and-software-updates-for-the-xperia-s-xperia-ion-xperia-u-and-more/, that says that a lot of Xperia phones will not be updated. So, there are bad news and good news.
The Xperia Tipo and Miro will NOT be updated to Android 4.1/4.2/4.3/4.4, but the Xperia E and the Xperia J will be updated. This means that the Xperia E and J will be updated to Android 4.2.2/4.3/4.4 and we will have probably the new Sony 4.2.2/4.3 UI. Are you happy now?

I think that we will have at least for 4.2.2 , even if now there is the Xperia L (successor of the Xperia J) and the Xperia E1

I didn't know..maybe they will make an update for us just several bug fixes..or if they pity us..maybe they will make an android version update..most people are giving up already and decided to buy a new phone is the best solution for this..

Maybe they will make an update with full Sony 2013 experience and leave our phones with Android 4.1.2
The Xperia J is listed there - won't go past 4.1. The E, however, isn't. There might be hope. Note the might.

HTC explorer with 600mhz got unofficial 4.3 rom ,htc people don't even care about updates & they even get fully optimized stock rom
Whereas Sony dosent even know they released phones like J,E with crap software ,But when they finally care to update ,its the same version with bug fixing

Well. I'd wait for @UltraGamerHD to finish porting Kitkat. Heard that it's liquid smooth. Let's face it. Xperia E development is going no where actually.
I'll be selling mine off in a few months.. Getting a Moto G seems cool!

I think Sony company just forgot that they made a phone by the name of Xperia c they are upgrading their every mid range smart phones but nothing about Xperia c even Xperia m is getting 4.3. Sony if can't update it why do you even sell it...

yes man I asked them by email and they send me back that they don't have any information about Xperia c because it isn't in US market

The only problem while porting ROMs of other devices to Xperia C is that Xperia C has a locked bootloader due to which we cannot flash Custom Kernel on it and that is the min cause of having limited ROMs for Xperia C.
But the boatloader can be unlocked! I saw it on the internet.

I contacted Sony Customer Care and they said that Bootloader of Xperia C cannot be unlocked and also there will be no official update after Android 4.2.2
