I am currently using a oneplus one and bought an s6 as it looks like a good phone.
However, my first impression is that the phone has too many native apps; before I start using it properly I will be migrating all my settings,data etc from my previous phone.
Anyone migrated from oneplus one to s6?
what rom would you advise for samsung s6?

I used to own the OnePlus, cool phone. I would highly recommend Xtrestolite rom, it's very debloated and there's an aroma package that you can flash and choose which features you wanna install

I have checked the rom and looks interesting.
However, there's one issue, it states:
"I would NOT recommend to restore system apps or app data of your apps with Titanium backup, only the apps themselves.
Restoring App data or System apps can cause problems with the apps. (This applies to any ROM!)"
I want to backup app data of my apps that are installed on my current one plus one and restore it on this new phone (viber messages, sms messages,contacts and also settings of some other apps as well), will I be able to do this or it will cause issues as suggested by the author of the rom?
How did you backup restore all the data of your oneplus one to the samsung s6?

I have managed to install Xtrestolite, still testing it and it looks faster but I am trying to get all my previous apps work on this new device.
Most of them are working but at the moment I am having problem with Tasker.
In tasker some of my tasks requires accessibility tasker to be turned on, I turn that on and then I am asked to enable the universal switch, if I don't do it, the accessibility for the tasker doesn't get enabled, if I DO enable it, an error is through "settings has stopped working"
Does anyone know how to fix this?

I am curious if there is a way to backup my Apps and data and restore them to a new ROM?
Simple question I know, but the only method of backup I try that does this is a full on Nandroid and that isn't helpful for switching ROMs.
I would love to try out all these new ROMs but the problem is that my free apps from market NEVER show up after I change ROMs, but the paid ones do, they just have to be reinstalled all manually one by one!
I also have to problem where my contacts have been merged on my phone, and they have sometimes several connected accounts-apps on the phone eg. Twitter Facebook and G+. When I change ROMs they all come back, but they ALL must be re-merged together and I have dozens that are like this. It is a real pain to change ROM for that reason.
Not to mention most of my paid apps are games, and a good 90% of them require a long and tedious download of additional content taking even LONGER.
I have tried Titanium backup of apps and data (Failed) and have tried ROM Toolbox (Also failed) Going from MIUI 2.3.7 to *Insert ROM Name* ICS ones.
Any help is very much appreciated Thanks to all.
Data between roms is sometimes different, this is why titanium has a option to turn on to attempt to do it, if that fails then its possibly due to incompatible data between roms, apart from the fact your going from 2.3.7 or what ever to ics.

It has a really nice built in app backup tool,I use it all the time when switching from from to from to install the none paid apps from the market. Hope this works for you.

I flashed the 4.0.4 ROM for GSM (ported, not official), and no bug found.
but when I connect wifi, google start to sync app to my 9023.
the question is, it syncs lots of removed apps to my phone! some apps i tried before but removed later. and it dident sync some apps I really installed (never removed).
I googled it and found no answer
I have a root i9023GT with stock ics 4.0.3 before.
any idea? what will you do after flashing new ROM?

In market settings, uncheck auto install of updates.
In phone settings there's an entry to backup and restore your settings, wifi-passwords etc - disable that as well.
Thing is, those backups are a nice idea. Problem is Google saves everything, but doesn't let you delete old stuff. Whenever I use this feature I get settings restored from when I played with android on my old Xperia x1. And no, there's no solution for it now - had some lengthy mail-exchange with Google's support about it. Result: they're sorry and understand my problem. But...

You can also try logging in to market on your PC and see if you can uninstall some old apps from there - don't bet on it though.
Hey, I don't have it with my nexus s on pics 4.0.4, but I do have a bug: if you look at running apps, they will all say 0.00B, except for settings. But I think its something of your personal settings..

thanks, I do like google backup very much, for I dont want to install every app when i have new ROM.
I googled it before i post but find a google group without answer.
I login to android market on PC but it seems there is no way to uninstall an app in it, only to install!

Another noob question...What is the difference between freezing an app and uninstalling one? I mean, it's a bit obvious, but also a bit vague...
My first few questions are rather broad/major... What's the different between a "package" and a ".APK" based on the spreadsheet being linked? Does freezing keep the process from restarting upon rebooting the phone??
Do I want to freeze apps that I want to keep for possible future use? Uninstall is for anything I want to get rid of completely and never plan to use, correct? I likely know the answers to these...But I also read that freezing an app is better and frees up more system resources than uninstalling....how can that be true? I assume uninstalling an app also "freezes" it, AKA stops it from processing...Correct?
So apps I might want in the future, like clock widgets, I just want to freeze, correct? Same for calender, calculator, etc?
On the other hand, I was to uninstall items like VZW Navigator, correct?

From what I understand, freezing essentially deactivates the app. As long as the app is frozen, it should not start, regardless if your phone reboots. If you freeze the app, it will still be there, just not working where as uninstalling it will completely remove the app. If you are not sure if you want it, just freeze it.
Freeze disables it and leaves it in the rom and usually hides from app drawer. Uninstall deletes it from rom making rom footprint smaller but saves it in TIBU backup folder. Defrost re-enables app in rom. Uninstalled apps can be reinstalled from TIBU. Bottom line frozen app is still in rom thus not actually debloated just disabled. Uninstalled is removed from rom but saved by TIBU thus debloated.

i used the "Samsung_Galaxy_S3_ToolKit_v7.0" to root it. Then i reflashed the stock via odin, didn´t work.

Problem solved. I deleted some samsung apps (dont know how) and restored them manually out of my titanium backup.

I recently bought a Xiaomi Redmi Note 2. very happy with the phone hardware, however the phone shipped with preinstalled apps that serve ads. I have run AVG and identified the preinstalled apps (which cannot be removed) and disabled those apps through Settings > Apps. I have also reset all of the defaults to change the Launcher to the Google Now launcher and things such as the default Mail and browser apps.
What i was hoping to get advise on, is simply disabling the apps enough to ensure that they can no longer cause a threat to the person using the phone, the ads have stopped running since I have done all of the above. Does disabling the app put the apps into a quarantine state where they are completely harmless or should I aim to permanently remove them?
I have tried to avoid rooting the phone (partly because I have never rooted a phone before) and also because of warranty concerns. Would a temporary root be a good compromise here? I also attempted to flash the rom with the global developers rom, however that didnt work when I attempted it and I kept getting the Install update.zip failed! update.zip signature verification failed.
At the moment the phone is stable fast and does not show ads like it did before disabling the apps and changing the launcher etc.... Have I done enough to protect any silent processes sending my data off to china?

I'm a long-time Android user. I managed to make my old HTC One M7 running alternately cyanogenmod and Google Play edition last for three years or so, and just switched this week to a lovely new S7 here in the UK.
It looks to be the perfect phone- very fast, nicely designed, lovely camera.
The first thing I did was install CF-autoroot, but I chose not to affect the system partition with the decryption option yet as I didn't know whether this would be strictly necessary yet. Then i installed titanium backup and restored all my apps and app-data from the HTC.
So, here I am a few days in, and I'm considering whether I should de-root it and go back to stock. My battery life isn't great, and by my reading it really should be. I'm getting to need a charger by ~7pm.
Things I want:
1- android pay is excellent- the option to never have to have my wallet with me is really attractive.
2- good battery life
In the past I've been a great fan of having TWRP to do backups, and switching between different ROMS using titanium backup to restore apps. I've always run xposed to tweak things.
Now, my basic understanding here is that xposed and root mean that I can't use android pay. That really does swing it for me.
Unfortunately the battery life is also currently a problem. I'd like to get rid of all the useless samsung bloat as well.
The options appear to me to be:
1. Wipe and go full stock, unrooted.
2. Remove verity and start from scratch with a debloated ROM. Lose android pay.
3. Stay as I am and accept that the battery probably isn't as good as I'd hoped.
4. Unrooted stock and somehow debloat without using root (don't know how to do this without titanium backup 'feeze' option).
Is there an optimum way forward here? I'd appreciate advice.

It does not require's root, it installs as Device Manager so you'll have to authorize it.
So far I'm happy with the battery life I get from my S7, no need to root & try to improve battery life so far as I had to do with all my previous Androids.

You can disable bloat with package disabler pro, from play store. No need to root and list of what safe to freeze is availlable here on lovely xda. Or you can do it manually with app manager.
