I thought the sim tray is on the right hand side...not on top?
Sent from my SM-G920F
The regular s6 (not edge) should have it at the side. I think the edge has it at the top.
edge is at the top on the right and standard is on right side in the middle
S6 sim card tray is on the right side next to power button;
S6 Edge sim card tray is on the top side.

Tried searching the forums, but came up empty. Is there a way to add an external WiFi antenna to the Nexus S? Is just as simple as getting an antenna with the proper connector and plugging it into the port on the back of the phone (under the two back plates)?
If you're talking about the small connector right on the side of the top-right corner of the battery, I think it's a connector for GSM antennas, does anybody knows it's for something else?

Yep, that is the exact one I was talking about (can be seen below in this ifixit.com picture). OK, that stinks, I thought that it might have been for wifi testing. The trace for that connector seems to run to the bottom of the board to those metal tabs, which seem to run to something in the case (which I assumed was the stock WiFi antenna) right at the bottom of the phone. If that is GSM (which is entirely possible), where is the stock WiFi antenna, because the only other antenna I could ID was the NFC antenna in the center of the outer case (sitting roughly over the batter).
<<edit>>
OK, I don't have enough posts to add a link to the picture, but if you go to ifixit's website and type in Nexus S, click on the first link that comes up, click on motherboard, and the scroll to the second page, you can see it in the third picture down.
I'll add some more spare infos to my answer
That connector is an SMC one, and it's been used since, uh... maybe always
In most cases it's hidden under a little round cover, which pops out by levering it with a needle.
Noticeable example of such a concealing are the old SonyEricsson phones, where it's also used as a mirror if a front camera is present (see w810i) and LG cookie K500

OK, thanks for the info. SO the money is on it being for the GSM rather than the wifi, right?
Yup.
It's also the most logical thing to do.
On a phone, gsm is way more important than accessories like BT or wifi

Hello,
In January I bought a Nexus 5, 2 weeks after I got it the touchscreen broke. I thought it was because I used a paperclip instead of the default plastic thingy for the sim tray. The paperclip seemed to go really far in and maybe hit some internal parts. I got it replaced and never thought about it again.
Now today I used a paperclip again to open the sim tray, It went in normally and with a bit of force the sim tray came out. However, now when I have my sound low I can hear it making like a static noise, does this have anything to do with the opening of the sim tray? Are there any wires that go through next to the sim tray that could have been from the speaker?
I'm really sad that something broke again..
Thanks in advance!
Stop using paper clips buy a HTC Sim ejector tool or request one from your carrier they gave me 1 for free

Am I missing something or is Samsung missing something? It would seem to me ONE of the big advantage of the "edge" is to see your notifications when the phone is laying on the table or a flip case is closed. So is there a setting to have the actual edge light up with notifications when the screen is off? I can rub the edge of course and swipe the panels to get to the notification panel but I want it to actually scroll like the news feed panels do. But when the screen is off and me not touching it.

Have you tried Augmented Smartwatch Pro, in conjunction with the Augmented Edge app? Works very well.

What does augmented edge do by itself without the smartwatch app? When I open it is just a black screen with banner on the edge

It shows music track information by itself - anything else requires the Augmented SmartWatch Pro app - opening on the Android phone does nothing.

It only shows a black screen with optional information on the edge part, even with the paid app you mention. This is sort of similar to what you would want/expect, but not really.
First of all it does not work when you close the official Samsung Note Edge cover, because that shuts off the screen. A proper solution needs to be integrated in the OS, either by Samsung or a very capable developer.
Personally I could not get anything useful (to me) on the Edge screen through these apps so I used the Refund option.

Let me ask you this out of my own ignorance. Is the flip cover different than my covering the phone's sensor with a piece of cloth? Or does it have magnetic sensors?

It is magnetic. It is like any normal flipcover but leaves room to show the Edge-part of the screen.
Its purpose is somewhat diminished because closing it turns of the whole screen. You can only get the Edge-bar to show by swiping up-and-down it. I hope someone is able to show the clock or which music is playing when it is closed and charging. An oversight by Samsung if you ask me.
Ok thanks. If the flip cover does disable the screen, then I suppose no app would turn it on... yet. That said, the apps I mentioned work for me. The entire notifications are displayed on the edge.. I don't have the flip cover, but when the screen goes to sleep, an alert would display on the edge just as it would on the status bar.
Any chance this will work on my s6 edge?
I was wondering why text messages weren't lighting up on the edge screen with screen off..using Google Hangouts. I think Samsung has failed miserably on support like this or even dev support from their Samsung store.

Ummmm... I get time on my edge all the time, not just when I swipe on it. I'll do some research and see if I can get it to light up on notifications. Might actually get off me lazy arse and write an app for it

i just got my phone today and noticed that the close all button on multitask window is oddlyy placed and not skinned properly. i keep accidentally closing all windows.
Is this the same for everyone?
That's exactly what mine looks like.

It's the same on the xa+x, big gap underneath where they have clearly deleted the small apps but not lowered the clear all button. Unless its to do with the way the device is held in the hand if it was any lower it would possibly be harder to hit one handed right in the bottom right hand corner of the screen rather than where it is currently. I don't consider it a major problem myself as I'm used to it now.

on my x5, it was on the left hand side with the pin on right. I keep accidentally pressing it and it's driving me crazy.
On white background, you can hardly see it at all. Oh well, i can only hope the noughat update fixes it.
On my Z3 it's a round graphic button in the same accent color of whatever theme is being used. I like that better because it's easier to see and reduces the chance if accidentally hitting it. Same position though.

In S7 edge and Note 7,Under edge screen options, there is edge feeds option which is useful to see notification on edges when screen is locked. I could not find the same on S8+. Does anyone know how to get this back. This was the best part about the edge screen. Thank you.

Not that I am aware of, but good question.
I'd like to also get that ticker tape feed on the side of my screen. It will be great if it was coupled with the always on display.
