You should try a different version of busybox and see if it helps. In any case, you need to ask your queries in the HTC One M7 Help Section over here:
> HTC One > One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting > So you came at XDA-Developers to find help? (Beginners Thread)
Or create a new thread in the Help section:
> HTC One > One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Please keep in mind that XDA Assist is not a support forum, Our team members will only point you to the correct direction and once you reach there, other RC's and member will help you our!
Thank you!

[Completed] [Q] I Need Help in updating my HTC One m8

Hello,
This is my first time using XDA developers, or any type of forum to be honest, so please do tolerate my very bad knowledge of the terminology and concepts behind almost everything I've seen on the forum so far. Also, don't roast me if this in the wrong section, I'm a major noob :silly::silly:
B, Anyways,
I have an HTC One M8 32 GB from Verizon that is GSM unlocked and unrooted. The phone is running android 4.4.2, so I went to the settings to try and do a software update, but that option is greyed out and says "Update only works in CDMA mode". And then I found this link, not sure if it helps, but can anyone help me as to how I can update my phone? Thanks "

Better to check this thread: [10-22][firmware][all stock img]all files have updated t0 4.4.4.
It also contains a video guide for how to update.
For general video tutorials check this: [HOW To Videos]Basic (HTC M8) set up and functions.
And if you have further questions, please ask either in the Verizon One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting > [Q&A] [ALL FILES HAVE UPDATED T0 4.4.4 [firmware][10-22][boot.img][ recovery][STOCK thread, or in the Verizon One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting forum.

Thanks for your help, however I just have two questions.
The first one is do I need to have rooted phone in order to run an RUU?
Also, the thread you posted seems to be for stock android, which does not include the HTC Sense UI that is included in the RUU of the thread I posted?

AFAIK root is not needed. But IDK about SenseUI.
Please ask in the Q&A thread or forum I linked in my previous answer.
Thanks for your understanding. Thread closed.

Hi there,
Here is a similar thread....see the last post, it links to a thread about write protection on the system partition. I believe that's your issue. If you have issues, please register an account on XDA and ask in the thread below, instead of starting a new one on same subject.
>*T-Mobile HTC One (M8)*>*T-Mobile One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting*>*Busybox *HELP*
And the thread about write protection....
>*HTC One (M8)*>*One (M8) Original Android Development*>*[MOD][KERNEL MODULE] wp_mod: disable system write protection
Please read read read before altering anything on your phone tho.
Good luck

[Completed] Please Help! How do I revert back to my custom ROM? [Asus Zenfone 5]

I yesterday Flashed Cynogenm Mod 12.1 on my Asus Zenfone 5. This was the first time I ever flashed ROM on a device. My device runs fine but both of my sims are not detected!. Also, root access is not enabled even when I changed the root access to apps and ADB from developer options. Whenever I open SuperSU it says "There is not SU binary installed, and SuperSU cannot install it. This is a problem! If you just upgraded to android 5.0 you need to manually re-root - consult the relevant forums for your devicce!" . I am in great trouble! please tell how can I switch back to my previous ROM or if the sim issue can be fixed. Please reply quick! Thanks!

Hello and thank you for using XDA Assist.
We cannot provide technical support nor can other members reply to your posts here on XDA Assist and there is no forum specifically for the Asus Zenfone 5 at this time but I suggest that you ask your question with all relevant details in the friendly general Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting forum at http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help. That's a good place to start where members familiar with your device might be able to advise you. I see a thread there at http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/asus-zenfone-5-zenfone-6-to-t2839984 that contains many links that might be of interest to you.
Good luck!

Hello. I recently bought my first android device, the HTC one m7. So I read about rooting and stuff, but everything either didn't work or is too complicated. I have an HTC One M7 6500L, unlocked from eBay. It is running Lollipop. So can anyone give me a detailed guide for rooting a Verizon HTC One to a person with his first Android device? Thanks.
