I have anexus 5 that is stuch on the google logo or is stuck in a boot lopp than it gets frozen and when plugegd in the battery logo turns on. I can go into recovery (twrp), but everything on my phone ghas been erased so theres nothing to flash. I tried to use a Nexus 5 toolkit to stock flash but it always comes up with an error. When i try something on twrp it says unable to mount....and give like 5-6 different thinbgs that it cant mount to. Everytime i try to flaash a new bootloader or something from that toolkit the phone turns off and goes into the battery logo. When i use twrp and try to do anything the phone just restarts into recovery. Is there any way i could push factory images to the phone or something else.
BTW, i dont know mucgh in terms of doing stuff with adb and terminal and all that so please be simplistic with the answers. Thanks in advance,.

Go to twrp and factory reset it and see if it works..
Write failure means that the eMMC might have died which can only be solved by replacing the mobo.

You're being too vague for us to help you. What commands did you enter at the terminal? Word for word what was the error message(s) you received? Did you try flashing the factory image using both the primary and backup bootloader?

So i followed the guide in the link posted above. This:
fastboot flash bootloader C:/image-hammerhead-krt16m/bootloader.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash radio C:/image-hammerhead-krt16m/radio.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash system C:/image-hammerhead-krt16m/system.img
fastboot flash userdata C:/image-hammerhead-krt16m/userdata.img

fastboot flash boot C:/image-hammerhead-krt16m/boot.img
fastboot flash recovery C:/image-hammerhead-krt16m/recovery.img
fastboot erase cache
Now, i can flash the boot.img, the system.img, the radio, but it hangs up on some of the other ones and it says "erasing..." than i have to stop it casue it doesnt work. Also, when i go into recovery it shows a spinning android logo.
Edit: Ive gotten all the way to "fastboot flash system system.img", but it gets stuck on my phone and says "erasing..."

You're not letting it finish. That's why you're having problems. It can take a long time. It also wouldn't hurt to use the flash-all.bat script instead of flashing each individually.
BACKGROUND INFO: I am trying to install color os rom using twrp recovery and it gives me "failed" when i flash it. I have heard that if you use CWM recovery it will work. i have installed TWRP recovery using toolbox that i downloaded from XDA. when i went back to toolbox to install CWM recovery it told me to boot into fastboot mode and I did. i also clicked attached devices under adb options and it gives my device number in CMD. when i select CWM recovery in toolbox and i hit flash it says make sure your device is in fastboot mode and i clicked ok. then it said within a few seconds your device will boot selected recovery and CMD pops up and it says FAILED. DEVICE NOT UNLOCKED CANNOT FLASH OR ERASE. i think this is because bootloader is locked but when i hit unlock boot loader in toolbox it says make sure your device is in fastboot mode and when i click ok, CMD pops for a second, then it closes and my device reboots immediately to TWRP recovery. also my device is ROOTED. i am able to install other ROMS such as mahdi and rom from OP. someone said that if i flash philz recovery.zip using TWRP recovery i will be able to install color os but still the same error. now i am stuck with philz recovery and i am unable to flash other recoveries. someone said that it is the oem lock and i went to CMD and typed fastoot oem unlock while my device was in fastboot mode and it said OK in cmd and the device booted right into philz recovery and still i am not able to flash another recovery. i went to CMD and typed fastboot oem device-info and it said device tempered- true, bootloader unlocked- false, charger screen enabled- false. I DONT KNOW IF ITS LOCKED BOOTLOADER, THAT I AM NOT ABLE TO UNLOCK, OR OEM LOCK, WHICH I TRIED TO UNLOCK AND IT SAID OK IN CMD, THAT IS NOT ENABLING ME TO FLASH BACK TO TWRP OR STOCK RECOVERY BECAUSE I HAVE MY ROM BACKUPS IN TWRP. PLEASE HELP ME TO GO BACK TO TWRP RECOVERY OR ANY RECOVERY.
Firstly, use paragraphs. Secondly, ditch the toolbox. Issue this fastboot command:
Code:
fastboot oem device-info
What's the output?

Your bootloader is indeed locked. You can unlock it:
Code:
fastboot oem unlock
This will erase all user data on the device.

Agreed with the paragraphs. OP did post the output of device-info in his OP post.
Calm down op, no need to use caps lock. Okay so anyways,
Do what timmaaa said, if that doesn't work try the following,
Do you have a copy of TWRP on your computer in the fastboot.exe folder? http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/bacon download 2.7.1.1
Go into fastboot mode, type in fastboot boot openrecovery-twrp-2.7.1.1-bacon.img
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/development/mod-reset-unlock-tamper-bit-t2820912
adb sideload that, then unlock your bootloader (fastboot oem unlock) in fastboot mode. then your phone will probably reboot, get into bootloader mode again then type fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.7.1.1-bacon.img and you will permanently flash twrp

i tried it nothing happens. the phone reboots into recovery and nothing erases. read my issue first. i already mentioned this. NOTHING HAPPENS WHEN I TYPE FASTBOOT OEM UNLOCK. IT SAYS OK. THEN THE PHONE BOOTS INTO RECOVERY AND NOTHING IS DELETED.

Yes. You are lucky dude. I can't unlock my bootloader.
So, I am the "lucky" one too
I did facktory reset and full wipe as I wanted to install back the CM11s, but I ended up in the "bricked" One :crying:
(bootloader) Device tampered: true
(bootloader) Device unlocked: false
The command: fastboot oem unlock
Reset One to the TWRP, but it does not unlock it
Any falstboot command ends up with: Device not unlocked cannot flash or erase
I already playing with it over 20 hours, but I didnt find how to fix it
I had the same issue that could not unlock bootloader neither flash any room after brick. I used the computer downloaded color os and pushed it to my oneplus SD memory with cmd. But before that I installed twrp 2.7.1 in order to be able to flash os. The only rom was color os that I had success to install. Still bootloader not unlocked but color os rom has root privileged. But at least I have working phone. I installed twrp temporarily with toolkit from xda.
I succeeded to install the latest CyanogenMod 4.4.4. It is pain in the ass. But did it. Most implant is to unlock boot loader with flashing files from twrp. Then used toolkit and installed the rom and Chinese fastboot is gone.

I have same problem as OP.
Code:
(bootloader) Device tampered: true
(bootloader) Device unlocked: false
(bootloader) Charger screen enabled: false
OKAY [ 0.019s]
finished. total time: 0.019s
When i do "fastboot oem unlock" when my phone is in fastboot mode, the CMD tells me
Code:
E:\adt-bundle-windows\sdk\platform-tools>fastboot oem unlock
...
OKAY [ 0.005s]
finished. total time: 0.006s
E:\adt-bundle-windows\sdk\platform-tools>
Than he auto reboots into TWRP. I don't do anything there. I boot to android. I shut down. And I Boot to fastboot again. Than when i try to do a fastboot flash or boot he tells me "DEVICE NOT UNLOCKED cannot BOOT"
So every time i unlock it, he puts it immediatly in lock.
What to do?

I have only the czech version now
http://androidforum.cz/jak-opravit-chybu-device-not-unlocked-cannot-flash-or-erase-t59365.html
use google translator then
I fixed it by :starting up twrp... then I went to install and searched for the recovery (for me i had to go up a lvl and go to sdcard and it was the stock recovery.img)i wanted to flash but you have to chanege to images at the bottom left then I flashed it as recovery .. it failed then i flashed it as boot and then again as recovery and it worked then i reboted it i was promted with the normal recovery .. wiped data and applyd the oneplus ota update .. now it works grat and is fully unlocked IDK IF THAT WILL WORK FOR U OR EVEN HELP.... not responsible..
As the title states...can we flash just the bootloader from 25R onto 30O using fastboot? And if so, therefore allow for the temporary boot of a custom recovery. Until now, I've only owned/flashed Samsung devices so still learning the fastboot idioms. Any ideas or nah?
You can boot a recovery without flash it .. fastboot boot recovery.img
Why are you wanting to downgrade a bootloader to 25R? There aren't any restrictions.
If you want to temporarily boot a recovery, then just type what nneves said.
Theres no need to downgrade your bootloader.
Since the firmware has been updated to 30O, this cannot be done. I used the 'boot recovery' method while on 25R, but for some reason (security?) they have blocked that exploit, hence the question at hand.
I had even tried this method I found in a Nexus forum:
Here's some instructions I compiled for doing useful things with your Nexus. Also includes instruction to root nexus 4 without installing a custom recovery. Basically, you save the customrecovery.zip file then fastboot boot into it (NOT install, and notice you have to type the full command specified below, not just "fastboot boot customrecovery.img") and then install using the custom recovery, install SuperSU.zip for unrooting:
1) Install all STOCK files:
./fastboot flash bootloader bootloader-XXX.img ./fastboot reboot-bootloader ./fastboot flash radio radio-XXX-XXX.img ./fastboot reboot-bootloader ./fastboot -w update image-XXX-XXX.zip ./fastboot oem unlock (to unlock bootloader)
2) If you want to keep stock recovery, fast boot BOOT into custom recovery and install SuperSu.zip: 3) Install SuperSu.zip file (to root)
./fastboot -c "lge.kcal=0|0|0|x" boot customrecovery.img
there used to be a 'fastboot boot recovery recovery.img' command, but Google removed it in 4.3, so now to simply boot into your custom recovery you can type 'fastboot -c "lge.kcal=0|0|0|x" boot customrecovery.img' instead and it'll do the same thing as the 'fastboot boot' command. Meaning it will revert to your stock recovery once you reboot. So boot into custom recovery, flash superuser (Koush or Chainfire's) and reboot. done.
It didn't work but maybe another code for our device is needed?
Just going to give this a little bump...
there is a stock 25R ROM zip floating around here somewhere. you should just be able to flash it via recovery using twrp, if you're just wanting to go back to flat stock. let me know if you can't find it, i think i may have it somewhere.
Wouldn't you need to unlock the bootloader to downgrade to 25R? I think that there would be some sort of check in the signed 25R OTA update that would prevent you from flashing it.
So I had an old Nexus 5 running a custom KK rom. I tried getting it back to stock using Wugs Toolkit. I've been playing with it for hours trying to get it to work. I ended up making it worse and it gets stuck on Google Logo now. I tried using the revert to stock option on the toolkit. It looks like everything is working.. Here is the log..
Connectivity Status: Fastboot Device Connected
+ Confirmed: Bootloader Unlocked.
fastboot getvar product
product: hammerhead
finished. total time: 0.001s
Launching flashstock.bat
and then it just stops.. I tried downloaded two seperate .tgz images from Google. They both do the same thing. It doesn't go out of the bootloader screen or anything. It writes the radios and that's about it.
This is a *very* high-level suggestion - there are many tutorials that take you through drivers/ADB, etc. I just want to give you the script I followed for the manual procedure, which turned out to be extremely quick and simple.
After suggesting Wugfresh's NRT to several people in these forums (I'm a very big fan) I decided to refresh my Nexus 6 with the latest image and make it unencrypted - a problem that doesn't exist on the N5. I wasn't sure that NRT would do this for me, since the script automatically restarts the device and I wanted to be sure that it didn't start before I had flashed a modified no-encrypt boot image, since it would just encrypt itself again. So I downloaded the factory image, a no-encrypt boot image (thanks, doitright ) and TWRP - naturally being very careful to get the right ones. I unzipped the TGZ and the image files down to their final *.img components. To make things simple I renamed the various images to one-word names (e.g. radio.img). I put all of them in the same directory as ADB & fastboot.
Since all Nexus devices are updated the same, this should also work for you. Since you've used NRT I'm guessing that you have the PC drivers already installed. You'll also need ADB/Fastboot. Switch on USB debugging, connect the N5 to your PC, and in a CMD window type these commands:
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash radio radio.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot flash userdata userdata.img
fastboot -w flash system system.img
fastboot flash cache cache.img
fastboot reboot
Some of these may be overkill (I believe the -w wipe command erases userdata anyway), but it worked for me.
I would say take a TWRP image first as well so that you can recover, but it sounds as if you have nothing to recover anyway.
If the more expert member want to suggest amendments to the script, I won't be insulted...

No worries, beekay. Posts don't allways mean what they look like, which is why we have smilies.
And I did read the articles. I tried with my N6 to attach it in bootloader mode with no USB debugging, and you're absolutely right. I suppose I just read "Remember to switch on USB debugging" so often that I assumed it was needed for any sort of work. Thanks for the tip. It's things like this that encourage all of us to try new things - like flashing a ROM manually instead of with NRT...
This problem occurred to me when I updated Wugfresh NRT to 2.0.6.
So I return back to 2.0.5 and this problem solved.
Try using NRT 2.0.5 to see if the problem solved or not

So bump for gregs1213's attention...
Hey, so I went to install Android 6.0 on my OPO, but there seemed to be some driver issue with the Wifi.
So I wanted to go back to my original OS, that I had backuped. I had the same Problems on this one too - as soon as I would enable WiFi, It would just crash and reboot after a few seconds.
Then I thought, perhaps with a updated Recovery it would work. So i tried to install a newer version of TWRP.
This is what happens:http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3627932&stc=1&d=1454171784
