[Q] Huawei mate 7 screen goes all black - Ascend Mate 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
So today i was just texting with my mate 7 when i pressed the home button. As soon as i touched another app to open, it was battery doctor, it didn't open. (battery doctor app remains like you were still pressing on it but in fact i didn't). A few seconds later a notification pops up. 'Home screen not responding' as well as 'battery doctor not responding'. I pressed 'ok' twice and after that my screen went all black. I couldn't restart it, i literally tried everything i could. Does anyone have (had) the same problem and is able to help me?
Thanks in advance,
RP.

try enter recovery mod and reboot from it

[Q] Unlock screen, no wallpaper, no touch response :(

I was changing the wallpaper and it gave me the "setting wallpaper" dialog, which lasted for a long time. I pressed home and the gallery stayed on the screen but with nothing in it, and I couldn't get out of it. The back button did nothing.
I force powered down and rebooted and now when it starts (rebooted several times) I get a black screen with the time, the unlock button and the bottom right panel showing the time, wifi and SD card status.
There is no touch response, no response to volume controls, if I hit the power button it turns off the screen and wont come back on. I can connect to USB and navigate the internal memory.
Anyone have any idea what to do? :/ Stock rom, nothing extraordinary on the device.

[Q] Randomly lock and unlock (Power Button)

Sometimes my handy randomly lock and unlock. It's like the power button gets pressed automatically. also sometimes the APM shows up, and if i press back, it appears again and again, mostly 3 times, then the system starts new.only the system. If i charge it, the screen also randomly shows lock screen and a second later it's dark again.
It's like a ninja pressing my power button to troll me.
Could it be a voltage problem? Or a battery problem?
I'm on stock battery and OrDroid 3.0.1 and this problem appears since 4 days

Hi,
Sounds more like a problem with the actual power switch to me, but perhaps the following thred will be helpful for you. I haven't read through everything, but some of the posts report similar issues.

Good luck!

Z5 hard bricked? Xposed?

So, phone was working great for a while. After the Camera 2.0 was working with xposed, I decided to flash xposed. Right after installing it, it started randomly rebooting, a lot. Like, whenever anything intensive was happening. About couple days later, I decided it wasn't worth it anymore and I ran the xposed uninstaller and cleared the caches.
It booted up okay. The launcher was pretty sluggish though. I opened up an app and I just got a black screen. Nav buttons were still there along with the status bar. Nav buttons were non responsive. Status bar could be pulled down though. I clicked settings, just to do something. Settings also didn't open. I hit the power button to do a restart, and selected restart. It just hung there for a couple of minutes. I forced a shutdown with Vol Up + Power. It did the three short vibrates and powered down.
Now, it won't power back up. Literally non responsive. It doesn't get to the Sony logo, it doesn't vibrate, screen doesn't turn on, and no LED status light comes on. I plug it into the charger, and no status light comes on. I tried Vol Up + Power again, and still nothing. I can't get it into fastboot or flash mode, or have it give any indication that it is alive. I tried pressing and holding the power off button by the SIM tray and get absolutely nothing.
Any ideas?

Ah, forgot to mention that. I'm on an osx box right now, but I'm seeing no indication of anything.

Have you held the power button for an extremely long time, like 15 seconds or so?

I'm not an expert in this area but I'd try to get to a windows computer and see if you can get the Sony software to recognize it. Might be able to reflash or repair

FOR ME, XPOSED ALWAYS DAMAGED SONY STOCKROM BEYOND REPAIR SO I ALWAYS HAD TO REFLASH,
but with you it seems extreme
1. holdin power and volume up button for 15 seconds should jerk device thrice and you device will go in to shutdown mode. try connecting to flashmode now
2. if (1) isn't working then old sony ion trick might do the magic, rubber band your z5 across screen horizontaly in a way that volume DOWN BUTTON is pressed for atleast 8+ hourse (over night) , this will DRAIN your battery fast and let motherboard clear the code. then put it to wall charger for over night! after 1+ day it should start giving you RED led / blink which means battery is extremely low. later you will get constant red led and finally you will come to stage where no led will be present. AT this point unplug and try connecting you device to FLASHMODE
3. Also remove sim tray during this process and next to SIM tray there is RESET button (musshy black or yellow soft button) , should be pressed with some soft pointy material ( see attached foto of my z5p)

UleFone U007 - Black screen (however everything seems to be running in the backgroud)

Hi guys, I just got a uleFone U007, and having a black screen problem.
The thing is that, after every few hours when I press the power button to unlock the phone, the screen stays black .
I am able to blindly unlock it by swiping on the screen, and I can feel that the screen in responding in background.
The navigation buttons are also responding (phone vibrates on touch).
However the screen still says black. And if I restart it (keep power button pressed), the screen is coming back, but again, only for few hours.
Do you know of any solutions for that? For me it seems like a software issue rather then a hardware problem. A GUI crash...
Also if any ideas on how to further investigate that will be helpful.
Thanks

Are you on the latest update? is your phone rooted?

Mate 9 won't turn on???

Hey guys,
My uk mate 9 was low on battery last night, it shut down and now it won't come back on. It's permanently stuck on the booting logo and occasionally the led blinks red and I get a red charging circle on the screen? Its been on charge all night and it's the same any ideas?
I would try recovering it with FunkyHuawei.
Sent from my MHA-L29 using XDA Labs
Try to boot into recovery, press volume up +power button and when u see the logo remove power button while keep pressing volume up till you get into recovery, wipe cache and reboot.
If it doesn't boot make factory reset from recovery again.
Are you using the stock charger and cable?
Since the upgrade to Android 8 Oreo I have a similar problem.
After two days uptime (i.e. time after a reboot), the screen won't turn on when clicking on the power button or the fingerprint scanner. Only holding the on button a few seconds it shows the power / reboot prompt. Clicking the screen or fingerprint scanner then turns it on.
After a reboot the problem does not appear for one or two days and then it starts over again. Even the alarm clock cannot be stopped.
I wiped cache and system cache but to no avail.

When it happened again, I connected my phone to my computer and started 'adb shell' and then 'top' which shows all processes running in order of CPU usage, like the same 'top' on Linux or macOS.
I saw that 'system_server' is on top with 100-110% CPU (multicore CPU hence above 100%). Is that correct ?
