Why do you do that?

Because I am living in Egypt, and the phone thinks I am still in Korea, so there is no MMS and no Video call. ( I always have the message " When Global Roaming, no video call is supported " ) While in the D838 models here, they are working fine.
Appreciate your feed back.

You can download a Build Prop Editor and can edit your Build Prop file.
I make this on the F320 (G2 Korean Variant) And this works fine
---------- Post added at 05:39 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:18 PM ----------
Or you can send me your Build Prop File and i make a Flashable zip for you.

Thank you letschky very much.If you can tell me :
1- How to get this Build Prop editor.
2- A guide to the steps.
3- If I have to root and a guide .
4- Can U revert back to my original ROM if something goes wrong ?

Ok,download a Build Prop Editor,i use this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ro.ciubex.propeditorinstall and open it.
it is the same step as for the F320.
If you alter your build Prop and will save the original is automatically saved and you can always return to the original.
Search the line:
ro.product.name open and edit in the 2.line to b1w_open_tw
search the line:
ro.build.target_operator and edit the 2.line to OPEN
search the line:
ro.build.target_country and edit in the 2. line to TW
Ok,save the Build Prop and reboot your GP2
i hope this helps for you.
if it does not work do the editor on again and restore the backup
It's just a gimmick but you can test yourself by
the weather app is original K Weather in Korean Roms, with this Build Prop edit is the Accu Weather.
it may be but these are the weather fc after a reboot it's gone
Please before you make this Procedur make a Nandroid Backup for just in case

Thank you very much. I did download the editor but it seems that I have to root the phone first. I am looking now in how to root the phone.

I need your help once more letschky. I have found the following way to root my phone :
" Install StumpRoot - Run StumpRoot - Reboot after app tells you to - Install SuperSU APK from market - Uninstall SumpRoot"
I do not think I need to isntall SuperSU APK , do I ?
The above method is found here :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/orig-development/root-stump-root-lg-g3-sprint-verizon-t2850906
Can you confirm the above method is correct ?

use stumproot and supersu for Kitkat and this link for lollipop root.
better when you use lollipop, install lollipop kdz and root with this link

Thank you very much letschky. I will use then stumproot, but what is Supersu ? what does she do ? Is it needed for the root operation ?

yes supersu gives root, without no root your phone

Hi letschky , I did exactly as you said, I rooted the phone and got a message it is rooted. I made exactly the 3 changes you asked me to do, and saved the Propeditor.
But I did not get what I want, here are what I got:
1- The button for video calling that I had before in the dialer, is gone.
2- Still MMS can not be sent, after some long time I have a message can not be sent, as before.
3- In the network settings and after the call setting , I had a Global Roaming setting (that has many inside settings itself ) , now this Global Roaming setting has disappeared. Does this means that I can not do International calls when I am in Europe for example ?
My Software vsersion now is F350L 10d - TWN-XX

ok it was worth a try.
on the G2 F320 from my wife works this,g2 her now as the international
Sorry

Thank you for your help and patience.

Hi mseif. We have the same F350L version of phone. However, after editing buildprop file, the F350L is already localized. The phone no longer thinks it is roaming. No need to flash the D838 ROM. Also, while your phone is rooted, you may remove the Korean Files you are not going to use. Cheers.

Thank u for the good news but how ? I have already rooted the phone and made exatly what letschky told me in post # 7, but it did not work out.
I hade to " Un root" it again.
Can u tell me hw you did it please ?
Thanks again in advance

My device is in latest Lollipop for F350L. I rooted with One Click Root. Afterwhich I edited the build.prop file found in \system folder using ES Notes under ES File Explorer in root mode. Please see attached build.prop
You know it is already localized (not roaming) because:
1. you no longer have different SMS for mobile numbers starting with 0 and numbers starting with +
2. the phone will allow you to dial starting 0
3. in mobile networks there is no longer a roaming dialing prefix option present
You can proceed to install UNINSTALL APP from play store so you can remove all Korean Apps you are not using.

No root method documented yet, although I do have one that I'm saving for P920 and I don't want LG to patch it
You can try flashing the CWM recovery linked somewhere and make a CWM package that deletes the apks you don't want.

after the official ICS install , I can not enter the CWM , oh . .. . .
You have to flash the modified one in the forum.
As for syntax, I just got a new computer so I'm still setting things up. I'll post a rough one once I get my stuff up in order.

GT-I9300 (S3 clone) MTK6575 SMDK4x12 - Phone Dialer error

Problem: Unable to make phone calls, send messages etc.
The Phone dialer, Contact & Messaging apps gives a error msg
"The system is not authorized will automatically shut down"
Once I click YES, the apps closes. (ScreenShort "dialer error"attached)
Same thing happens when I open Contact apps. (ScreenShort "contact error" attached) once I click YES, apps goes but keypad remains at its place.
I installed "Go Contacts EX" from play store, this allowed me to open contacts, and I'm able to make a call to any of them. Call connects, but same error msg displayed, and I cannot do anything else than clicking the YES. (ScreenShort "dialer error 2" attached)

have the similar phone where the SIM location is at bottom rathen than in between the battery & camera.
I cannot install Whatsapp because the phone model is "I9300" which Whatsapp interpret as tablet and refuse to install
So I ask the shop keeper to root it for me. Did not notice if there is any IMEI before ROOT.
After Root, IMEI is lost. Some SIM is still working, some will get no permission or authorization and cannot make / recv calls.
After searching, find a tutorial to write IMEI to insert into. The site is in Chinese and is follows.
www . 5i01 . cn/topicdetail.php?f=586&t=2849328&p=1 (remove the space)
Goto post #2, will see the link for the little program which run in windows
www . dropbox . com/s/149hywwmdwaaqa9/imei_mtk.exe (remove the space)
anti-virus software may report this as trojan. use at your own risk.
basic requirement : phone is rooted (because need to replace the IMEI record)
1. after download this imei_mtk.exe, rename it to imei_mtk.rar
2. extract ONLY the 2 files : imei.exe and readme.txt
3. readme.txt should read as :
i. at dos command mode,
input imei.exe <15digit_IMEI_1> <15digit_IMEI_2>
and it will create a new file "MP0B_001_NEW"
ii. rename it to "MP0B_001"
iii. replace the same file in /data/nvram/md/NVRAM/NVD_IMEI/MP0B_001
4. reboot the phone and you will get the IMEI
note : IMEI is a 15 digits number
The IMEI will be lost after factory reset. Have to do this again.
Suggest to save the "MP0B_001" for future use.

[Q] DROID3 XT862 for pageplus and T-Mobile

Hi,
The system version is 5.7.906.XT862.Verizon.en.US
It was unlocked, rooted and installed root explorer ready to modify to work with US GSM ( Lycamobile also)
Here is where I got info to follow
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1989359
However, I have some concerns need help
1- will the instruction and the first build.prop file in the above link will work with my phone?
2- Can I use the phone with both pageplus ( being flashed with TalkForGood) and T-Mobile ( Lycamobile later)? I saw the same question without answer here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1425519
3- Can I use the phone oversea as a global phone without a need to follow the above link in Non-US GSM Networks session?
4- In case I want to go back stock image ( revert to the original one after messing it up), how?
To Skreelink, thank for your instruction but can you or anyone show me where to do the "required options" part because I simply couldn't find what you mentioned in my phone under Wireless & Network setting -> Mobile Network.
( I tried to post this under the above post but couldn't)
Thanks

1: The link you provided is my information and files for KEXEC ROMs, such as CM10.2 or AOKP. For the stock rom (As you listed 906), you will want to go here.
2: If you flash the XT883 radio for US GSM networks (like T-Mobile) you will not be able to flip between them via software toggle, you will have to flash the stock radio + swap build.prop back to stock and OTA on PagePlus, vice versa when you want to use the other network. (I wanted the same thing, I solved it by getting a Motorola Razr M XT907). The main reason for this is; The XT883 radio expects an RUIM card (CDMA version of SIM) and without it, puts it in emergency only mode. Verizon/PagePlus/Sprint/other US CDMA networks do not use the RUIM so no real way around this.
3: To use it as a global phone, just restore the stock radio and build.prop, it should work without issue WITHOUT MODIFICATION, as long as you have input the SIM unlock code to unlock the phone. You *can* use the XT883 radio globally, but both radios will work for global GSM.
4: To return to stock, follow this thread.
thank you
The best answer I have ever seen.
So if I buy Motorola Razr M XT907 to achieve the goal Pageplus/T-mobile, where is the best procedure I should follow?

You either have to use adb or a root browser. Rom Toolbox Lite has one, ES File explorer also has one. I'm sure other apps have a root browser, but I've not used others.Rom Toolbox's root browser allows you to longpress for a menu to change permissions.

I use totalcommander that run with superuser permission.
With a long press on the file, I go to property and set up with all permission ( 777)
After I hit OK to confirm the change, nothing happens but when I check again, it is still (rw-r--r--)
I have superuser installed.

If the permissions are not sticking, then the app you're using either does not have root privledges, is not performing correctly, or your root isn't correct. Try updating your superuser binary via the superuser app. Although, rw-r--r-- should be just fine, 777 would 'pose' a security threat since it would allow any app to modify it. Long as you replace it with the one required for GSM, rw-r--r-- permissions should work.

Sorry, didn't see this until now... getting the Razr M on pageplus is a real pain, though T-Mobile would be simple. It's a matter of getting the computer to read the diag port (you have to manually select the driver) and simply editing ONE NV-Item, then any GSM sim will work (AT&T, T-Mobile, etc).
Here is one of my posts with a quick guide about unlocking a razr m for gsm.

The Droid 3 requires flashing the radio and build.prop to swap between CDMA/GSM
UNLESS it it is a foreign GSM network like Rogers in Canada, then the stock radio works without modification. The XT907 Razr M can do a software toggle between them (Network mode under Mobile Networks like the D3) but setting up PagePlus requires a lot of work for data, though GSM is a lot easier to get working than the D3. You can still go ahead and activate the D3 on pageplus, just after you flash between radios, you have to OTA program each time.

I think I can do the same process with the image file from the original and overwrite the build.prop with original.
I did back up the build.prop but not the radio.img
Where can I find the Droid 3 radio.img of 906 version?
I want it simple as a reverting from what I did because I already removed all Verizon apps and install my apps in the current image.
A recovery task can bring back the original image.

Just flash it like you did the XT883 radio and put a stock build.prop in (you should have backed up the original). Then you should be able to OTA program with *228 if it's activated on pageplus.

Hello , i have a Galaxy J SC-02F SIM-locked in Docomo.
I have followed the steps above and flashed the CWM from the chinise forum ... after translating ,, registering and posting !!! in the forum.
otherwise i could not download anything.
Now i have the *7z file from the first post and the CWM recovery installed , but the phone is not rooted yet.
I have no idea how to root it with the 7z file.
It sais something about booting into CWM and the connect to USB .... in CWM ?!? .... but next step
to flash it from the PC i have no clue.

You can use SC01F's rooting method.
See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2482672
notice. you can't use SC01F' rooted rom!
you need to make rooted system form SC02F official ROM by yourself.
Thank you.

Thanks for the answer ,
I have already CWM recovery installed and it works to boot into it and also making the stock ROM backup. So I can install zip files through CWM. I ve installed " update SuperSu 1.65 zip" and by reboot ask to CWM to root the device.
Now when I open the SuperSu App it wants to update but it cannot in normal mode and asks me if I want to try in CWM .... I really would if I had
a decent SuperSU zip-file to do this... compatible to my phone.
Strange is that Titanium Backup gets root power but any other apps as ROM Manager or ROOT Explorer don't.
The info u gaved me with the SC01F means a total different method with other apps and software to install and I feel like being only half on the way too completely root the device .
Actually I would like an advice from this point ..
Thank u in advance

1. Download SC02FOMUBNB3 from sammobile.com http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/3/?download=26431
2. Download make_rooted_system tool from github https://github.com/kbc-developers/make_rooted_system/releases
3. (In linux PC) adding stock rom' files
(dir)
├ bin/
├ config/
├ img/
│ └SC02F
│ ├cache.img <- adding from SC02FOMUBNB3
│ └system.img.ext4 <- adding from SC02FOMUBNB3
├ sed/
│ readme.txt
├ install_su
├ make_rooted_factoryfs.sh
└ user_custom.sh
4. run "make_rooted_factoryfs.sh" in terminal
-> rooted system is in out/SC02F directory
5. flash rooted system by using Odin3
it is possible to change in CWM if CWM install first.
but I don't prepare it, because I want to use felica.
if you want, make cwm.zip yourself from make_rooted_system's binaries and scripts.
@Dintisor
Sorry I'm not well English.
At first,
"su" and "busybox" is delited by /init at boot time.
this is the reason , you couldn't get root.
so you need copy it from anywhere at boot time.
/system/bin/kiesexe or /systembin/mfescand called by init on root.
replace it to custom script.
and then,
you can get rooting at every boot.
Galaxy SC-02F
Thank you very much guys.
I am not so good to cook myself a rooted ROM
Beside I only have Windows machines not a Linux one
I've managed to root the device using CMD
and the SC02F_ROOT.7z in the first post of this thread.
After that I used Region Unlock 1.3 from chainfire and its working perfect
on Calls , SMS and mobile data in Europe.
But I don't have MMS , Video Calls and SMS delivery report options.
I have also a SimToolkit proper to my mobile provider wich is not shown in the apps.
All this above options are available on my mobile network just don't know how to
make them enabled on this device. Eventually if I have to flash a new radio if is somebody
nice to explain what radio could I flash , maybe compatibles from Note 3 Asia devices.
Thank you

[Q] How to enable Hotspot in LG G2 D80030F

I just updated my LG G2 to lollipop 5.0.2 and rooted it. Now again my hotspot is not enabling. Earlier I did it using SQlite editor method.
Now what to do...???
Note: Solved this Issue already.
Use This Method+My method.
Settings.db will not open in SQLITE EDITOR directly so move the file from root to sdcard and then edit as per guide. Then again place in the same place and restarted instantly. And Done...
Steps:
>Exact File Location is "\data\data\com.android.prodivers.settings\database\settings.db"
>Cut and paste the file it in anywhere in "\SDCARD" using ES File Explorer after enabling root access from tools in ES.
>Edit using SQLite Editer at new location
>Again Place the file back to it's exact location.
>Restart
Use LG One Click Root for Rooting Lollipop.

You enable it in settings, but the method you're referring to doesn't function on LG based ROMs. It won't even stick on Cloudy or Optimus ROMs. Use a vanilla ROM like Vanir, AICP, etc..not LG.

This sqlite method is actually to stop the phone from reporting the correct amount of data used over tether, it sort of fakes the usage as coming from the phone.
Im not sure what happened followed those instructions to the tee and now it will not boot past the att logo.....
Never mind.Problem solved.

Just worked it out instead of "moving" do a ""copy"" to sdcard and then overwrite it back to com.android.prodivers.settings! It worked! I knew that cut and paste would bring some kind of problem!. Remember before doing all this, first you gotta hit the "mobile hotspot" unless the value "tether_entitlement_check_state" won't appear in sqlite_editor just a little reminder couse it happened to me!
I did end up reflashing back to 20c, set everything in the database's for tethering and some other stuff i wanted. Did the ota update all the way to Lollipop and all the settings in the database stayed. My tethering works in lollipop without having to do anymore editing. the original changes stayed. So this could be another workaround possibly or i just got lucky....
