[Completed] [Q] HTC Desire HD with exclamation marks in each corner - XDA Assist

As the title says, the phone gets stuck at a screen with HTC in the middle and 4 exclamation marks in each corner. I read on many forums that this might be a hardware problem (radio brick or something like that). This happened after a factory reset. Any ideas? Can this be fixed by flashing an RUU? In other words, is this a software problem?

Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. The best place to get help on that device is here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-desire-hd It's always a good idea to read through the device's specific forum before purchasing a phone. That will allow you to see how it has performed for other users and get a sense for any issues with it. Also, it's a good place to find out if it's rootable and how to return it to stock. These are two things I always look for when considering a new phone.

Xda Zest, is it getting a section ?

Got the chance of updating to one and have been looking for reports, advice feedback on this phone. Is there going to be a section for this phone ?
Thanks
Probably not as it's not an HTC device even though it is branded an XDA.
Is this a HTC only forum then ?
Don't know about that but i do know they have decided not to create a section for things like the Samsung Omnia. But then that is neither HTC nor an XDA.
Seems fair enough, they do say somewhere its HTC only, just read it, be to much if they had to do every windows phone out there. Oh well the Zest is on the way, lest see what it's like in the flesh.

Screen Problem

Hi Guys,
I dropped my desire S today( I know I got clumsy hands , the glass looks fine and the touch is also working fine as usual, but the LCD image seems to be damaged partially in right side from top to bottom...several lines appear and the display is in black and white(negative image)... :'(
My Question is Can I send this back to HTC?, FYI it is rooted and S-offed, How much will they charge? Will the root affect the repair, if not is there a way I can S-ON it back. Please advise or guide me.
Thanks,
Worried Sick.
P.S. If this is not the right forum, please let me know
there a lot of guides for returning your device to S-ON. You can also flash an appropriate RUU which i believe returns your device to S-ON and stock
also posting in the Q&A probably would've gotten you more help.
I'm sorry I can not solve your problem, but I agree with dan-fish and I'm sure nobody will blame you if you post this in the Q&A section again. You'll get a solution very quick I think
Sent my thoughts to your head with XDA App

[Q] I messed up, bad, need help

Was trying to root my phone following thishttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2788632 guide, got through the bootloader okay, then when I went to restart my phone to start 2. Installing a Custom Recovery, now it won't turn on. Did I **** it up? It won't turn on at all, nothing happens when I press the power button, pc won't recognize it, no response from wall outlet. Worst of all, I bought it from someone on craigslist, got a t-mobile chip, was just messing around with it, now this. Do I have any options at all? I'm assuming there will be no warrenty from Oneplus one, any way to send it in for repairs at a cost?
Welcome to the forums! I remember being one of the people guiding you here on the OnePlus forums. You'll get better help and support if you ask questions relating to troubleshooting in the "Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting" sub-forum next time. @Naddict, can you please move this question so the OP can get better help?
EDIT: I see your problem has been sorted out. Do you mind sharing what you did so that other members here can use your solution for future problems?

[Completed] [Q] HTC HD7 help please!

Alright so, here is what I am trying to do. I want to get the android OS on my HTC HD7. I just broke my phone (which was android) and had to revert to my old phone because I am a bit tight on money. Now I have seen forums where people have be able to load android onto a windows phone, like the HTC HD2 and I have also found a forum with all of the stuff for a HTC HD7. Now I realize you need ROMs and a few other things. I dont really know how to load all of the stuff on my phone or anything, the place I found with all of the information had no instructions it just said here is the stuff for it, have fun. I am not really a big fan of the Windows OS on phones, and would prefer Android any help please?
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. The purpose of XDA Assist is to point you in the right directions. You're still going to need to do your homework. I found this which should help get you started, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2024828 Also see this, http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-hd7 You can ask further questions in the Q&A forum

[Completed] Half of touchscreen has the X axis inverted

Mistook the title, the phone has the Y axis inverted, not the X one.
Hello XDA,
I searched for similar problems as mine, but none could help me (since couldn't find anything that is split-screen related).
The problem is I dropped my phone on the ground and since then, half of my screen (the lower part of it) has the Y axis inverted (pressing at the middle of the phone will activate the home button and vice versa).
Don't tell me to buy a new touchscreen for it because I can't afford one at the moment, and also can't afford buying a new phone.
I am thinking that the easiest way to fix this (software sided fix) is to sort-of use an app that flips the touchscreen but only for a half of screen.
I don't actually know how to fix this, that's why I am asking for your help.
The phone is an AllView V1 Viper.
Thanks for the future answers and for reading this post.
Hello Thank you for using XDA Assist.
I am sorry but it really seems like you have damaged hardware not software as you say you dropped your phone.
Unfortunately I can not locate a specific device forum for your device.
You are more than welcomed to post your question in the General section here http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/general
I know it is not what you wanted to hear but I would say a local repair shop may be able to give you better answers.
Good Luck
Ragnar
