Hi all,
Not sure what area of XDA this belongs in but would greatly appreciate some form of a reply to help me in my decision to get a new phone.
I have narrowed down my choices to the Umi Zero and the Xiaomi Redmi 2. I have had great experiences with a Redmi 1s, especially after putting Cyanogenmod with Lollipop 5.1 on it. As such I know this is a phone that is reliable and would expect the Redmi 2 to be similar in that regard although Cyanogenomd is not yet available for it.
The Umi Zero seems like a real giant killer but I know so little about Umi. I have read great reviews about this phone but wonder if people on here who have used it could recommend it? I don't have money to waste so it would need to be a phone that will last me for a considerable amount of time and has quality hardware and software.
The best prices on both put the phones close to each other on price so any opinions from the good people on here would help me to make my decision...
Thank you all!

HI to everyone! For christmas i was planning on buying a new cellphone. I have a budget of 400 dollars , and i was undecided between the Oneplus One and the Xiaomi MI4. I know that there are a lot of threads that referring to this argument but each one of them is different. However both the cellphones have high specs and they are so similar that i can't choose. I'd like a cellphone that is fast, is open to modding (as i really like always changing ROMs), but most of all i want a device that is durable since i would have to keep tit for at least 2 years. If there are others devices good as them for that price feel free to say.
Thanks in advance
Mi4 works great. Hope i replied in time lol

Dear Sir,
Iam looking for a new smartphone that should last for the coming two years.
the specs that Iam looking for is a reliable one.
I have some models in mind but I need your assistance in order to decide.
first choice: Huawei mate S or LG G4 or Samsungs S6 Edge +
second choice : Gionee Elife E8 or BLU Pure XL or Allview X2 Xtreme.
Remark: in option 2, although the three look like together but there should be some one who is better in quality and manufacturing products.
here I need your advice and recommendation for option 1 & 2
last but not least, if you really recommend a mobile that is not in the above list then I will be more than happy to hear from your side.
Awaiting for your reply and thanks in advance
Hello,
Thank you for using XDA Assist
Thank you also very much for asking our advise as to your new phone choice.
While most of us here very big phone enthusiast and have been on these boards for years, the one thing we have learned is that there is so much individualism and what someone may want for their device is not the same that someone else may want.
You have to analyze what is best for you.
What do you want to do with your phone?
How much is a certain feature valuable to you?
This is like asking which is the Best Rom? There is no answer for that!
It is what is best for the user.
May suggest you make a list as you have of devices you may be interested in.
Then go to read about each device the specs, maybe go to the XDA Forum for those devices and read what the users there are saying about it.
Collect as much information as you can then sit down go through it and figure out what is best for you.
Good Luck
Ragnar
Why has nobody created an MX5 thread, or any other the previous models. The only thread is the original MX and it doesn't have much on it.
It is a very important phone as on occasion it tops the Antutu Benchmark and not a single thread has been created. Im currently studying coding at university and I am a year 1 student so I don't have much experience yet so it would be helpful is someone who is experienced and has a meizu could create some ROMS for it and get it more heard of. Ive got a MX5 and feel the Flyme OS is abit buggy and would enjoy a good ROM for it.
To anyone who is willing to start work on this i would be happy to test thanks!
Hi
Thank you for using XDA Assist.
Meizu MX forum is used for all variants.
About development it seems that you need to find a way to unlock the bootloader: http://forum.xda-developers.com/meizu-mx/help/mx5-sort-dev-support-t3217021
Hi all lovely people here, this is my first thread post here on XDA.
My long lived Sony Xperia ZL has failed me, the microphone and sim card has problem thus i'll need to change the whole board which is pretty costly.
Thinking about getting a rather cheap good smartphone and this came to my mind.
I'm a rather light user, i don't play heavy games on it.
Use it for mostly social and love to flash rom and switch between few in a month.
Any fellow user here? I'd love to hear some advice and reviews.
Is Mi a good phone to root and flash roms to? Is it easy?
Any replies will be much appreciated :good:

hi guys
Im new to the xda, and im hoping to find a complete answer from the experts here.
i was looking for a new phone to buy, my old phones were LG g2 mini and Meizu MX4 pro.
The main problem i had with these two phone were battery life (and i had a major problem with meizu in heating and lagging so much!! Once I recorded temperature of 69 Celsius in meizu !! )
Now that I want to buy a new phone I started to read reviews and GSM Arena Battery life Table.
but it doesn't get me anywhere!
my main question is :
with enabling your data on mobile full day and using apps like telegram, and with minimum time of playing games(like boom beach)
which battery can makes through a day and half of use ?!
i was thinking of Sony Z5 Compact, but i couldnt decide whether its battery is good or not ?
in a nutshell, which phone can lasts longer with enabling data on 3g fulltime ? (there isnt any answer on the internet ! )
thank you in advance for your answers guys
