My Samsung s6 edge has no cell service. IMEI blocked. I think what I have to do is "root", "flash" and somehow get the phone to start using the "Generic IMEI"(???)
but whatever info I will get out of this, my friend who is more cunning is going to use to help me.
It's running on the Original ROM at the moment.
Modelnumber: SM-G925F
Android-version: 5.0.2
I want to be able to use my phone again, and will take any measures.
Hello, and welcome to XDA Assist! Here is a good rooting guide for you: How to Root Any Device. For roms to flash, look here: Galaxy S6 Edge Android Development or Galaxy S6 Edge Original Android Development.
Good luck!

Please help me. I want desperately to root my phone. I'd prefer a method not requiring a computer, however I'm desperate and open to any method as long as it won't ruin my phone. The details of the phone are: AT&T Galaxy S5 G900A running Android 5.0 lollipop

Hi, I've been searching the whole the web for rooting a at&t samsung galaxy s5 android version 5.0 for a week now. I haven't found a single way. All methods for rooting any other model works. But none have succeeded with the at&t model. I heard you can downgrade it if you have 5.0 but it can brick your phone. I wanted to try it but I didn't want to take the risk. If anyone knows a way to root the at&t samsung galaxy s5 please help me and others tying to find the answers. Thank You.
Hello, thank you for using XDA Assist.

Help! I tried to root my samsung galaxy s6 (sm-g20f, Netherlands no sim lock) but it freezes on startup.
All it says are the regular things samsung galaxy s6 Powered by android. But now it also says, in red letters: recovery is not seandroid enforcing.
I still can get it in Odin mode. But when I try to install new firmware odin says: can't open the serial(com) port. For rooting i have used CF auto root and the program Odin.
How can I get it back to life? Maby I'm using the wrong firmware? Yesssss I fixed it, using smart switch.
Hi,
Thanks for using XDA assist.
Your thread will be moved to the Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting forum so you can receive specialized help. There are experts there who can help you out. It would help other users if you could describe what root method did you use and the steps/procedures you have done.
Good Luck! - gsstudios
