Hi all! I have managed to hard brick my Galaxy S5 SM-G900A. No big deal, really. It was for a learning experience. I don't know much about cell phones, just computers. I'm wondering if there is an emulator, or someway to mount the file system? You know how you can have a PE disc to boot from? I'm looking to do that with a BRICKED cellphone. I'm curious if you can slave the internal storage?
Apologies if this is too vague. I don't really know if it's applicable to what I'm asking. I haven't really grasped the understanding of what actually happens when you brick your phone. Any help or thoughts would be great;y appreciated and welcomed!
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. if it still turns on and you can access download mode you're not hard bricked. You bring good thoughts to the table, sir. It may not be hard bricked. I can access download mode, but I see the Android robot with his chest open after trying to update the firmware. This doesn't happen all of the time, sometimes it will say "firmware upgrade encountered an issue, please select recovery mode in Kies and try again." So maybe not all is lost. I will give it a shot this evening and see what I can get away with! Thank you again for all of your help!

Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. Could you let us know what specific device you have. That'll allow us to point you in the right direction. But I'd try returning the device to stock using the stock firmware. How you do that will depend on what device you have.
Hey guys, I hope you can point me in the right direction.
My son decided that he wanted to try and root his Galaxy using Odin. Nothing I would ever tell him not to do, but he is young and never fully reads through the directions of a good root process before beginning. It started off with a problem of only booting to a frozen battery icon, and never going any further. It would not even let you turn the phone completely off. It would simply reboot back to the battery sign which didn't budge. So he had the brilliant idea of trying Odin again, except this time, he left the Delete Partition checkmarked. While going through the process, his computer lost power, and of course the process was interrupted. Only now, the Galaxy Tab will not turn on at all. When we plug the tab into the computer, Windows states that the USB device is not recognized. However it will let us in to the device file folder structure, although everything is empty. Is there anything that can be done with this machine, or is it simply Totalled?
Thanks for any help you can point me to.

Hello and thank you for using XDA Assist.
Sorry to hear about your trouble. We cannot provide technical support nor can other members reply to your posts here on XDA Assist but fortunately there is an XDA area dedicated to the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 family at http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-2 which would be a good starting place. I suggest you post your question with all relevant details in the friendly Q&A forum there at http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-2/help where the experts familiar with your device will be best able to guide you.
Good luck!
I have a i9063t and apparently it's hard bricked. I won this a couple months ago and it had a problem very annoying of reseting alone all the time, mostly when I was in the middle of something important. I tried to put it back to factory but it didn't fix the problem. So I tried to fix it thinking "This may be a software problem, since it has no official update, I'll put a custom rom in it!" ... Installed Odin, Kies, wiped to factory, put it download mode, connected and chose a rom that apparently worked for this device. Then something happened. Odin just crashed, and my phone it's stuck in the samsung logo. It doesn't go to download mode anymore neither recovery mode! When I turn it on it goes to the logo or the charging animation if it's plugged. Odin doesn't recognize it anymore since it doesn't go to download mode. I'm really desperate for this, is my only phone and I have no money for a new one or technical assistance (will cost me almost a new one) and I really need it (and feel pretty stupid that I've bricked it). I've tried a lot of tutorials but all of them requires download mode. I've also read somewhere that all the bricks may have a solution, some are simple, but some are funky. I really really need help here. This ! is always on top. Anything you may know is helpful, please.
Hi,
Thanks for using XDA assist.
Unfortunately, when your device can not access the recovery or download mode, your phone may not be able to be repaired by the user. You may be able to use the Emergency Firmware recovery in Kies to restore your phone to stock firmware, that's only if it can detect your device. Maybe a mobile service center can restore it back to life, but they do charge quite a bit depending on where you live.
Alternatively, you can register a XDA account and post in the Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting forum so that someone else may be able to help you out.
Good Luck! - gsstudios
Phone is stock, SM-S820L, not rooted or anything as I'm a noob, however a slightly more educated noob after watching the videos making fun of noobs from xda as well as reading the slang terms and adb noob guides.
So I can say with confidence, my phone is NOT bricked nor bootlooping. I was not trying to do any kind of flashing or rooting, I was just updating maps and cue my problem.
Phone turns on and after a minute of blank screen with no splash screen no boot animation, it shows a red letter "movinand checksum confirmation fail" error message. Same error shows up if I try to charge the phone, not sure if it's charging or not.
The phone will NOT boot into recovery, only download mode.
I need to recover data from my phone to my pc. That is my priority/main concern.
After I do that, I would then like to know how to root my phone, install clockwork cyanogen whatever so I don't have to go through this again.
Help me xda grand masters, you're my only hope.

Hello guys,
A few months ago, I rooted my phone using kingroot. After a few weeks, i tried to install TWRP custom recover to unlock bootloader. I accidently downloaded a wrong version of it and flashed it using flashify app, after which i booted into recovery to check the new recover mode. But, something awkward happened. THE BOOT MODE DIDN'T OPEN AND THE SCREEN GOT STUCK AT "Booting into recovery". I read on the internet and realised that my device has got soft-bricked. Also, phone wasn't rebooting. So, i found a solution atleast start my phone. I took out my battery, pressed the buttons for download mode and then placed the battery back in and pressed the buttons for download mode and somewhow rebooted my phone (i read about this technique in xda forums). Now, although my phone works but i cannot access the recovery mode as it has got soft-bricked. Thus, i cannot perform a hard reset as it gets caught in that "recovery booting stuck cycle". So, can anyone tell me how to fix this? PLS QUICKLY. aLSO, i don't know much about ADB, so pls explain that too as my friend suggested me to use ADB to fix softbrick but im not sure!!
