[Q] Theme engine not working! Help Please! - General Questions and Answers

The themes that I install from the playstore or even from the storage doesn't show up on the theme engine except the default system theme and there are no other options I find to make myself successful in changing the theme on my cm11. I've attached a screenshot so you can have a look at it. What am i doing wrong ? I don't even see any font option and stuffs inside the theme option. Please do help!

If its CM themes you need to have Cyanogenmod ROM in ur phone. Else it doesnt work !

@achotjan, u can link this to your op. Whenever I'll make any addons/fixes for your ROM, I'll upload on this post only.
-------for v4.1-------------

these are already included by achotjan in hotfix 2
2. for ussd error,.achotjan has already released hotfix 2. please see ROM thread op
. . 2.a. alternate dialer
. . contains: this replaces semcphone with cyanogenmod dialler. **ACHOTJAN ALREADY FIXED USSD ERROR. THIS DIALLER IS JUST OPTIONAL IF YOU PREFER CM7 DIALLER MORE THAN XPERIA DIALLER. this is not a hotfix
3. update
contains: market 3.4.4 and latest trackid (faster song search, new ui ics style)
these are already included by achotjan in his ROM/hotfix2
4. THEME UPDATE

I HAVE KEPT EVERYTHING AS CLOSE TO STOCK AS POSSIBLE. THIS WILL MAKE LOOKS MORE CLOSER TO STOCK. NO THIRD PARTY IMAGES ARE USED.
the menu back ground is somewhat like this . (only the background, the status bar shown in that pic is from some other rom not this theme)

Good job, man, awesome addons for our X10's. I have an idea, is it possible to port the theme from 1.6 to work on Achotjan's ROM? Would be nice I guess...
Thanks

[Q] [Help please] How to install CM11 themes?

So, I'm new to this whole process. I have searched and installed many CM11 themes, from the play store.
None of them, have shown up in the theme chooser.
So what can I do?

no one?
Thanks....
If you go into settings, there should be a theme option there to apply the themes? Otherwise, check if the themes you installed are apps that you can open - they might include directions there for installation.
This issue can occure by having and outdated theme chooser.
There are two types of CM11 themes:
The one that includes the new milestone release are having a new theme chooser.
The old one can only be runned by roms that aren't updated yet to the new theme chooser.
Please send some screenshots of your theme chooser
you can change theme in "setting -theme", if it didn't show your themes, please ensure you have installed the latest CM11 rom.

[Q] theme chooser custom rom

Hi ,
I'm trying to build a custom rom for the jiayu g4 with as base stock kitkat rom.
Now, I would like to add theme ability to the rom. Not with xposed framework or such, just a theme chooser like in the xperia and cm settings.
Can anyone help me with this? The intension is to have such setting (or app that I can link to settings) to easely change the theme.
If there's an option to do this, but specific for my kind of phone (so no theme's exist yet), I wouldn't mind theming a bit. In that case I could provide the users with 3 or 4 different UI collours and different icons or such to choose from.
Thanks,
Louis

You could try adding the Cyanogenmod theme chooser into the ROM and offer some themes for it but that isn't device specific as such. That would most likely be the easy option where something else could take a lot of time though.

Hope this helps

How can i add the Cyanogenmod theme chooser into the ROM? Isn't the cyanogenmod theme engine built in in the framework and very difficult to add to a ROM?

It is built into the framework and requires an AOSP based rom. Also the version for that OS had a ton of issues that were never fixed as it abandoned for the newer setup

So you're telling me I must not try to add the cyanogenmod theme engine? What would be the easiest way to add some theme's then? It doesn't have to be theming like in cyanogenmod or such. Just changing the theme collour from as example black to blue would be enough for me. Then I can provide them with the themes black, blue, red, green or such.
Thanks for taking the time to answer

To do what you want you would have to rewrite all the base framework files and add everything in by hand. To be honest it will be far more work then it is worth. Your best option would be to make flashable theme zips, where you change all the color options to each and every single apk in the rom.

wouldn't it work to just change the systemui or such so the status bar, volume pannel, settings etc change collour and maybe some icons (like wifi, bt,..)? And then I could search for an app that automaticaly flashes zip's, that way the users just need to choose the theme they want and the phone does the rest himself?
Or is there a way to implend xposed modules into the system so I can use XthemeEngine without having to install xposed module? Or implend xposed framework and XthemeEngine in the ROM so you just flash it with the rest of the ROM? But in that last case, it maybe would be stupid to do the work for it as everyone can easily find out about XthemeEngine if they realy want to apply some themes. Plus xposed and XthemeEngine would be 2 apps taking space in the drawer and memory wasting for the users who don't want to theme..

Well thats the thing. The volume panel color shares its color with the rest of the menus in the rom, The settings is set by the settings apk and the icons are scattered across a ton of different apks. Some in the framework and some in the system ui.
The xposed route is up to you. I find no use for xposed myself.
Ill be honest there is no easy way to do this. What you want to do takes weeks worth of work even for a single color theme. This is due to everything being cross linked to everything else. You change the color for say the clock then the color changes in 50 other places as well.

[Q] Fonts for OPO

Can somebody please guide me how to change the fonts on my OnePlus One, or either let me know the custom ROM on which the fonts are available under settings for change.
Thanks in Advance.

If you are using CM12 (or 12.1) the theme engine let's you change fonts.
U can try this or this for many fonts.
Alternatively, there are standalone font packs for CM12 on the Play Store. Install them and under Settings > Themes set to use the font.

As an idea or option for our device , is on of the best. The thing i like most is the non white in the settings menu. Please add more colors like pink for female users , I;m subscribing to this thread as it seems most interesting
Black too?
Thanks Anyone Who Liked It. I Did This Because i wanted something like CM 12 Themes ,But It is not easy to theme LG System apps, it takes lot more effort than the theming CM Roms due to shared resources, and some apps are not yet sypported by Apk-Tool like LGBrowser,TeleServices,so there may be bugs due to it...
So i might take requests in the future after i finish this whole Thing First..

Copy and Replace Files from orignal rom which you want to revert to stock..
Nice and great job..thank you for sharing with us. Are you planning making more color mods..for example black or like g3 chupa chuos rom maybe...
This is an awesome theme but it makes navbar completely white it's not looking good I think, can you fix it, for example in Facebook. Picture attached.

Thanks..
But I have not touched framework-res.apk which is responsible for navigation bar,it must be due to the Lollipop SDK that many apps have adopted,or you must be using Flat style colored bars or tinted bars as there is no problem while i am using.. if you are using FSCB, go in nav bar option and set it to "tint nav bar with status bar"
Hope This Helps
Please provide the restore.zip i really want to revert back to stock.Plzzz
@DeeZigneZ
Ya Maybe But There is a lot of **** in LG System apps and there are incompatibility with apktool so i am unable to theme many G2 system apps, but it is easier for G3 too,but i directly use G3 themes beacuse there are talented guyz there.. :v @Gogaldo
