Any way to change the vibration intensity? - Onetouch Idol 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello all!
I received my Idol 3 this saturday, and I'm quite happy with it for now (though I'm really hoping we get custom ROMs for it ^^)
I do have one issue though. I can't feel it vibrate unless it's in my hand or in my pocket. At work, I leave it on the table in silent mode, and with my previous phone, I could feel the vibration but it wouldn't disturb anyone. With the Idol3, unless my hand is 1mm from the phone and I'm expecting it, I don't feel it.
Is there any way to change the vibration intensity? I couldn't find anything in the settings.
Cheers,

Same problem here... with a case, if i hold it loosely, i feel it very very lightly, and in my pocket not at all. makes me think its just for haptic feedback... mine isn't rooted (yet) and i am planning to do so when CM12(.1) officially comes out. (if there isnt a fix, well then its bad luck )

there is a xposed module that will adjust the intensity of the vibration. i have root, xposed and the module on my idol 3 6045i, the module is called, " Vibration Tuner " it allows global vibration strength adjustment and also a five other specific vibration adjustments. this is nice if raising global is to strong on one of the other settings you can cut only it back.

Thanks for the tip.
I tried to install xposed, but it tells me that it's not compatible with android SDK 21 or my architecture (arm64-v8a)
How did you install it?
Cheers

Vibrating dialer....

Rooted and ran ruu....updated and now I get the annoying vibrate when I hit a number on the dial pad. Seen posts elsewhere about it. Anyone else confirm? Am I missing a setting somewhere? (and yes vibrate is off on typing input) I was pretty sure that when I first got the hero it did not have that feature. If that is how HTC does updates then ewww. If there is no setting someone please remove it in a ROM!

Wow you're right.....! I'll have to look in to removing that for a future release of fresh rom. It was for sure not on there before, but I did post in my thread that changes in the files (even though small) were made to every single stock app.

ok maybe i = nub, but the only vibrating feature i have found on phone and in manual is for the typing input, which is already off. Where is the haptic feedback option? i have looked through every setting at least a dozen times....maybe i just have setting blindness

That's just the setting for when you use the keyboard. The keypad is different and it wasn't like this pre-update. It's a bit laggy and annoying.
I agree, been anxious to see what/if HTC says anything about the *new* feature....and thanks flipz for takin a look, and other devs for their awesome work on roms!
you can download "Spare Parts" from the market and turn off haptic feedback from there. May or may not help your issue.
Unfortunately spare parts does not disable it...doh
/bump!
With all the juicy ROM talk and requests....since the MR the vibrating dial pad is horrible. #1 on my list for what I am looking for in a ROM.
Any updates on how to disable vibrating dialer???
It is part of the Sprint RUU update. As far as I know there are no manual options to disable it from a user stand point The devs might be able to find a way to disable it im not sure.

App to control phone volume?

I dropped my phone and now the volume buttons rarely works. So is there a app i could use to control the music/call volume?thanks.
Sorry it didnt show the other thread i posted...close this one please.
Volume slider
Yes, there is an app for that, but only if you have a dev-unlock phone
See this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1577919
Don't know of one for fully locked phones.

What about one for call volume? This one is good for master volume but for call volume it doesn't work.
Not aware of any app for in-call volume.
I can see how that might be a problem for you if the volume buttons don't work at all.
Maybe you wanna PM the developer for that app and ask for it to be added?
Alternatively, is it that the volume buttons don't work at all? or do they not work well? You might consider taking off the back cover and trying to improve the contact with the push buttons. (Use small regular screwdriver at 45 degree angle if you have one of those 3 prong screws). Don't know which device you have, but if you check the forum for that phone, many have directions about how to take off back cover (mainly for updating memory card)
Hi,
I have the same problem too. This app works like a charm but not for in-call.
I am not sure if the developer could do something about it.
Unfortunately, because I have less than 10 posts, I am unable to reply in a dev thread.
I have tried to send an email, but not a private message, to the developer and he has not replied so I don't know if he got it or not.
I dont want to email him again cause it would be rude.
Anyone has any idea if it would be possible at least?
Cheers
Hi guys,
No answer to my post
Has anyone the same problem?
Would anyone mind to ask the developer?
Thank you in advance
Ok in case anyone is interested in this:
There is a solution to change the in-call volume manually, it s not an app but it does the job pretty well
see this thread:

Vibration on Z5

Hi. I just received my Xperia Z5 and I have a little issue. Before this one, I had a galaxy S3 in which you could control the intensity of the vibration. Is there a same option on the Z5 or do I need to root and install an app ?

Might be possible with some app, don't know which app.
Or just wait for the custom ROMs and kernels to support it!
Or you could just buy yourself a vibrator... >

Thank you, I've already done that. I mean to change the vibration when I receive a notification. But it looks like root is needed

Having same issue here, did you root it to get vibration intensity settings? it's quite annoying having the phone on the tables and the vibration so strong

No i did not root, i won't do it because of the garantee of the phone. I 'll just wait for marsmallow to see if it can be changed
I use the application lightflow to control the LEDS, there is also an option that you can set to change the vibration for individual notifications. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rageconsulting.android.lightflow&hl=en
Strange observation, i made, when I had 4 different phones at home (display backlight bleeding was too strong, all were Z5P chrome), is that the vibration intensity, as well as the sound it produces, differ quite much from each other! One sounded like something's loose in there...

Disable Sound/Notification profile switching sounds

Hello, I'm currently running SuperMan-Rom V1.18.1 from Tkkg1994, on my S7 (W8 / Canadian model).
I use an app called Llama (check it out -it does actions based upon location, which is obtained from determining which cell tower you are on - sorta like Tasker), to switch my Phone from the usual Normal / Ringer & Notification ON profiles, to the Silent & Vibrate profiles.
My question is as follows:
How can I disable the audible sound that my device makes whenever it switches from Silent / Vibrate to the Normal profile. It's tremendously annoying and often I think that I'm getting a notification.
Bonus: Is there any way to also disable the vibration that occurs when I switch from Normal / Silent to Vibrate?
I was hoping there was a setting in TouchWiz or in Super-Man's Rom control, however I have yet to find this setting . (Perhaps worst case scenario - there is a Xposed module which might do this)
Thanks guys & Happy holidays :good:
Hey, I was just wondering if you ever got a resolution for this? Please let us know. Thanks!

You can disable the sound by renaming:
/system/media/ui/TW_Silent_mode_off.ogg
to
/system/media/ui/TW_Silent_mode_off.ogg.bak
(The path is from memory, could be slightly off, but I'm sure that should be enough for you to figure it out)
I haven't figured out how to disable the vibration that occurs when switching to a vibration only notification setting.
EDIT: You'll have to re-do this after every ROM flash, keep that in mind

soyes 7s mini phone- How to disable "assist touch" ? gets turned on each boot

soyes 7s mini phone- How to disable "assist touch" ? gets turned on each boot
I got a cheap mini phone for dog walks,
soyes 7s
got it rooted and works fine, but there is an assist touch settings that enables a floating button after each boot. I can disable it in accessibility settings, but it is enabled again after a restart.
I have looked in the files in root, but have not found anything yet that might enable this setting each boot.
Now created a task in macrodroid with autoinput that disables it with a button.
Any slight chance of any help regarding a setting that is activated each boot?
I’d like to know this too. I’d love to see someone create a custom rom for this cool little phone. I love it.
have not found a solution, but with macrodroid and autoinput made it toggle the setting. So after unlock the settings screen is opened then toggled. Not pretty.
Also installed xposed on it.
Very cool little phone. Perfect with a bt earpiece and audify that reads incoming sms-email and caller name. Used Vphone S8 before, but this android thing is better and not much bigger.
Thanks for that. It’s fun with angry birds too lol. I’m really surprised the geeks haven’t jumped all over this. Low cost of entry and super cool and useful toy. You wanna meet girls, take this out on an elevator when they are all messing with their phones lol. I have mine set up to look like an iphone and it’s ace. Even found a silver Apple logo for the back on eBay. It’s a conversation starter. Way more capable than an Apple Watch lol
Hi. I just received mine. I bought to use in the same reason as you did. I saw that the phone is consuming a lot of battery in idle. I tried to root but I couldn't. With tools do you used to root yours? Thanks a lot.

I used the kingorot apk to root, but first unlock bootloader.
https://blogthetech.com/root-forme-soyes-6s-without-pc/
I then replaced kingorot with supersu, version stable 2.79.apk not the new ones.

Thanks a lot. I tryed to do, but i am stuck in this part:
"Boot to Fastboot by pressing volume up and power Button Simultaneously"
When i do this the smartphone boots in Android. I already enabled OEM Unlocking and USB Debugging.
are you using the kingoroot.apk ? just install it and press one click root. Allow unknown sources and I think you need net connection

Awesome! Now it is working. Thanks a lot! I just installed xposed and now i am going to change some things and see if i can improve my battery. I will come back latter!
I installed the xposed installer and just installed the framework it suggested. arm7I.
OK My device is rooted. What is xposed? How does it work? I’m new to android. I’ve downloaded it from the App Store but can’t make it do anything. What tweaks work best and how do I get them installed?
I'd like to be able to tweak the home button functionality to be able to mimic iOS and activate voice search etc.
I have this phone too lovely little phone i have installed holo launcher and dropped the dpi down to 130dpi looks awesome now.The only thing is we need to find out what’s drawing the battery so fast in general use.The phone itself sleeps like a baby pretty good in standby anyone have any ideas. And would be nice if we can get a sub forum going for this device as i think its getting very popular.

I think the main issue with the battery is that its too small. Id love to see 4g on the device.

I don’t know about that because it does a good job at standby time something seems to be draining it when in use may be some app or background process.I am sure we have plenty of people here with the know how to get it running better. I know this phone has been selling like hot cakes and a growing interest in the phone because it so well built and does not look so cheap and decent performance for that crazy size of it.Also i have been testing hotspot on this phone and the battery life is amazing when using hotspot to my ipad very impressed definitely a very handy feature of this phone.
Mine is also changed to 130dpi, looks much better now. That sim tray is a work of art lol.
yes, this phone is very snappy for the size. Feels faster than the two android watches I have, that are not used. Needed something that can be tucked away connected with bt and a voice notifier.
The xposed module "app settings" is good to tweak certain apps dpi and font size. I think my overall dpi is 120-130.
Also setcpu profiles to save when screen off and 900mhz screen on, only max cpu with incoming calls. Then greenify and amplify.
For me it last 2 days of dog walks, or 4-5 hours on connected to bt with a few short calls.
Do you have any issues with app icons moving around changing locations? I’m using an IPhone X launcher.
no, but i use Nova launcher. Not paid much attention, mainly for accepting incoming calls
