I'm totally disappointed using miui so this is a humble request to all the veteran devs out there, can you please port cm12.1 to mi4i? At the earliest.

Xiaomi hasn't released the SOURCE CODE for Mi4i yet I don't think a custom rom would be developed anytime soon. What we can hope for is a developer rom which should be put up by the end of next month. You should join the Telegram group. If you want to discuss or stuff like that. Also to all the devs, if you're looking for testers I'm all for it. Just pm me or join the group

I dont mean to hate, but it seems like there are no devs for mi 4i on xda. There has not been a single custom rom or even an AOSP ROM for our device. Can any experienced dev tell me what is going on? Are you waiting for xiaomi to release kernel sources? Any comment is appreciated.
Apparently there are no experienced dev here and most of mi users post on mi offical forum then here even the root for the device came from those forum

Well, there is nothing else to do BUT wait.
I guess it's due the fact that the phone was launched in India first the phone is to reach others yet. So the development will once start when the phone is launched and bought gobaly. I have made a dev promise to work on kernel once the source is released

RC (Release Candidate) is just another name for the TEST builds. It's still not gone official. Read their G+ page for more info

I know that aicp and rr roms come with different options, but want to know which one are the base rom? i mean which one the main android os that the other devs take and modify on to create roms for our devices?

Right now for our device RR and AICP are based on lineageOS. Unfortunately RR 5.8.1 was deleted from AICP thread for some reason.

No its because payne was not the official maintainer for the rr for our device and yet he released rr rom. I guess that's what he told!!

Sounds nice mate. I have been using (or still using) the RR on my: Redmi 1s, Redmi 3 Pro, Mi 4s, Mi 4w, RN4x, OPO and soon on Mi A1. Very nice! That's what I have purchased my A1 for!

OTA access should be given by RR team if developer want it
