So I cleared my cache the other day. I have pretty bad service at home and normally overnight i see my phone drop at least by 40% battery. Well last night it only dropped by 15%. In fact yesterday i made it 24 hours using only 50% battery.
Just coincidence ? Or real ?
Nope it's real gave me 10 hours more of battery

That's what happened to me also. On the first few days I was dropping battery like crazy at home. Now at home I'm on wifi but my 4G signal is crap upstairs, and in the basement I'm constantly flipping between 3G and 1X. Normally I don't care because wifi for data and I use gVoice for calls here, but it did seem related to battery drain. Clearing the cache (and in my case also a factory reset), combined with turning on Advanced Calling seemed to do the trick. Now it's much more reasonable.
this is a known workaround that works on most S6s...it didn't work on my original but it did on my replacement. See the battery life thread...

Device cache thru recovery or flashfire. Even though the OP doesn't appear to know this, he had high cell standby drain.

If people have been wondering...
I got a 3800mah sedio extended battery like a month ago and so far its been better then standard, when i got home i had about 20% more battery then before.
I thought i wiped my battery stats with app but now it turns out it didnt, i wiped it using CMW and i can already see the improvment.
Normally when I would use it for about 30 minutes moderate usage i would be down to about 94%... Now i only go down to aboit 97-98%
Wiping battery stats is the quicker alternative to using a ROM for a while.

To the OP, I dont think it would actually improve battery life. When I had a Motorola I had this issue all the time. When I would get to 1% it would sit there for hours. I would wipe batter stats and it would be more accurate. Giving you the illusion that its better.
What a bunch of BS. delete this nonsense thread.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2
I personally thought wiping battery states just let's your phone know the exact battery level if it got messed up. So in theory you aren't getting more battery its just your phone now knows the right right battery level. Lol

When I started out changing ROMs a few months ago, I used to wipe the battery stats and do the full charge/full drain thing. I've since stopped and can't say that I notice any change in how quickly the initial drain goes back to normal (or even that there is a an "initial" and a "normal").
That all said, if there is, in fact, truth to the idea that the battery drain indicator just needs a while to become accurate on a new ROM, it seems entirely likely that wiping stats and doing a full charge/full drain cycle is really only useful because of the full drain part of it providing the ROM time to calibrate.
I believe it has more to do with the physical battery getting juiced properly when you first get your phone. After that a mod shouldn't need to reflex the battery, but wiping the stats would give you a more accurate percent if it seems off.

I solved it by discharging the battery completely, then I did wipe battery stats and then i re-charged it. now after 6 hours its 94%
What's the typical battery time for the One S? I got mine a few days ago and it just seems like the battery drains away way too quickly than what I read on reviews. 14 minutes in and already at 83%? Yet all I did was use the 3G connection. But my screen consumption is 89% yet I have brightness at below half way, probably 40%. How is any of this possible?! I've got Google's Location service and Location and Google search options turned on, could this be it?
I haven't had the opportunity to go at it for the full day, so that's what I'm gonna do today and see how it goes.

Hi! Last night, I charged my battery to 100% then left it on overnight, turning everything off (wifi, bluetooth, notifications) and made sure to clear all running applications. Usually, my battery only drains about 5-10% during the 8 or so hours that I sleep, which is what I expect. But all of sudden, last night it drained ALL THE WAY. When I woke up, it was at 1%!! Does anybody know why this happened? I know that the reception at my house sucks (dropped calls, failure to send texts sometimes, etc.), but that never really hurt my phone that much overnight. I'll upload some pics of my battery stats. I appreciate any help!

It has to be a rogue app. I would fix permissions, wipe caches, and reboot. That should fix the problem, if not, you will probably have to reflash your Rom.

I decided to look at your pictures, and sure enough, you have 0 signal for pretty much the entire night (red bar) which kept your phone awake the whole night. At the end you have so-so signal (mustard color). 92% cell standby power usage. Yup.
So this can be chalked up to signal issue.

If your phone wasn't in a different spot than normal, then perhaps there was a network outage in your area overnight.
I had cell standby at 90 or so % one night too and it drained me down to 40% batt over night. It only happened once tho
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
You can put it in airplane mode if the bad signal keeps draining it. I have to do that when I'm at work. Used to be I would get to work with about 85-90% and 7 hours later with almost no use it would be down to 20%. I switched it to airplane mode at work and only lose about 2% over the 7 hours now. (imoseyon's lean kernel with a cpu screen off profile also helps)
