I installed this, but Rom Manager wasn't on the list of system apps
Titanium Backup Remove / Backup / Re-install
Hi there! Be aware that if you remove apps you won't be able to update via OTA unless you install them again. If you wish to stay stock, it may be better to just freeze those apps so they won't appear any longer. It's easy and you don't have to worry about the backup files
If space is an issue, install superuser and use Link2SD or any other methods to extend your internal space to the SD card.
Good luck

[Q] Problem Restoring System Apps With Titanium Backup Pro

Titanium Backup Pro will not restore system apps.
Samsung Galaxy S6 SM-G920T
Titanium Backup 7.1.2 with Pro
Stock rooted with CF-Auto-Root
Tried SuperSU v2.45 - v2.46 - v2.49
The Problem
I made backup of apps that I would like to remove from the phone. I did a test by removing Amazon App. When I try to restore app, Titanium hand at restoring app, spinner will go for as long as I leave my phone on. Kill Titanium, reboot phone and I get a toast popup that Amazon has stopped. Amazon app icon in app draw, I touch to start app and get the same toast popup that Amazon has stopped. Start Root Explorer Pro navigate to system/priv-app Amazon app folder is not there. Navigate to system/app Amazon app is located here, but not in a folder and not with any support files. I tried this with a few other apps and it does not matter if they are located in system/priv-app or system/app same result.
I have search and found older threads that suggest changing Application Processing Mode to Interactive, but no mode changes have helped.
I also tried changing Mount namespace separation in SuperSU.
When applying these changes I have reboot the phone.
Any Ideas, please help.
Thank You

Hey, im on G925F and I have the same issue. I have USB debug activated/on, rooted, tried various tricks and switching the way of app processing in TB and none worked. I cannot restore previously backedup system apps at all
same problem here!
also, converting a user app to a system app fails the same way!

I too am unable to restore system apps backed up by Titanium Backup with Titanium Backup. I'm running the latest version of Titanium Backup (Pro), stock KitKat 4.4.2 on a Samsung Galaxy Light (SGH-T399N), rooted with SuperSU 2.50+Pro. The restore process never completes but will run forever without any error messages until I kill it externally with Task Manager. Converting a non-system app to a system app behaves the same way...tries forever without completing. From the number of earlier posts in this thread it's obvious I'm not alone. The only suggested solution I've encountered that seems applicable to my situation is to replace SuperSU with Superuser. I'm loathe to do that and hoping the problem is something else.
Same here, already tried Indirect App Processing but no help. Had this problem with my old Xperia V running CM Rom never figured how to fix it
Titanium backup is not supposed to be used to restore system apps. If I'm correct even the developer of the app says not to restore system apps with Titanium.
I have used Titanium backup for years to restore purchased apps but never system apps. Never had a problem reinstalling backups of apps.

That's why u always make a backup, I don't understand, why did u wipe the device to root? U don't need to, unless u had to unlock the bootloader to, but that's simple enough, just make a backup, and no titanium backup probably doesn't work with 6.0 yet

Exactly
BTW Backup+ works on M.
EInstead of being unhelpful and spammy like the posts above, I'll help. Revert to supersu 2.49 and install the appropriate elemental x kernel.

I had the same issue, and although I didn't have the time to investigate it much, the problem seems to be the following:
Backups used to be located at
Code:
storage/emulated/0/TitaniumBackup (sdcard)
and they are now saved to
Code:
storage/emulated/legacy/TitaniumBackup
The second path is only accessible with a root browser. I think that if you've rooted your phone and you move (or better yet copy some for testing) your backups there, TB will see them again.
At first I thought it was a bug with TB and Android M, but now I start to wonder if it has something to do with ElementalX since I've also flashed that kernel to my device.
Use SELinuxModeChanger (Google it, is not in the play store) to set permisive mode. That worked for me
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
SELinux permissive mode is the solution! Kernel Audiutor has an installable plugin for changing SELinux mode.
Permissive mode is not working for me, for some reason. TitaniumBackup on Android 6.0/ElementalX v6.02/SuperSU v2.52 still saves at ''storage/emulated/legacy/TitaniumBackup'.
I tried both SELinuxModeChanger and the permissive.zip flashable that ElementalX post is supplying.

6.0 support was added with SuperSU 2.50+. Stop being unhelpful and spammy.
I'm having problem with titanium bkp. I had backup all my apps with data on 5.1.1 and flashed 6.0.1 rom. Now titanium bkp doesn't detect my bkp.
Tried many things like
copy bkp files to internal,
just made an app bkp and copy my bkp files to that folder etc.
still my TB doesn't detect my old bkp
Can you make sure that the filename casing is as TiBkp expects it?
Move away TitaniumBackup and data/com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup, then create a backup and see what TiBkp creates for these two folders.
I've had instances of TiBkp not seeing data/com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup because it was named Data/com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup (note the uppercase D at Data).

[Q] [Titanium Backup PRO] Problems with SuperSu

I want to ask why I can't Backup SuperSu App, I mean, I have it installed as an User App but I can't see it in Titanium Backup, It's like Titanium doesn't even detect that SuperSu is installed, and I really need to backup SuperSu's Data. Please, help me!!
Hi there
It is because super su is a system app now thus titanium can no longer detect nor back that up but you can still download a back up zip of any SuperSU version u wish

Why you want to backup SuperSU data

fix/bypass signatures do not match the previously installed version

So i need to back up app which has backup function disabled, so i decompiled app, changed backup to true and compiled, app installed and i could back it up with adb but data was gone, i needed to keep /data/data/com.myapp so i did, with pm uninstall -k and it kept data but now i can't install my modified version, it gives me error "signatures do not match the previously installed version" is there any way around this?
i don't need some root solutions, my goal is to back it up from pc with adb without root
i also tried to extract data with app not installed, but didn't work, what tells phone not to back it up if app is not installed? data itself?
EDIT: oh boi, i just realised this is general thread, can't delete or move, mods please? xD

The app data will be encrypted, only way I know of is root and use titanium backup pro or similar app
