Hello
Hello how do I ad-block everything (in browser as well as in programs) whether I am on Wi-Fi or using Mobile Data.
Thanks
Install AdFree, but you need to root your device.
Adaway works fine. Requires root as well. Won't block all the ads that are in the Google Apps (e.g. Gmail, Youtube) but it gets the job done.

please reply with your perfect app for blocking ads.
adblockplus + adaway (both, they use different approaches and are not exclusive)
I use adfree and "the mother of all adblocking" apps which is found here on xda .

Rom toolbox can block ads in certain apps and you can also try adaway, as somebody already mentioned.

+1 good apps
I too am looking for an ad blocking program. I did download AdAway and was about to install it until I noticed it wanted full permissions to all device features and storage, full network access, and prevents the phone from sleeping.
Is there a manual way to prevent ads from showing without giving some annoymous person full control over my entire phone?
Try LuckyPatcher, works fine for me
ghostery is a good addon if you are running firefox, though the interface isn't as clean as a desktop computer.
AdAway
I use adaway, it works really well,
Hi there!
I'd rather like to decline all or at least the most pre-installed apps on my Android device.
To give some information:
- Moto G
- KitKat
- rooted
I don't know, if kernel and build are necessary, so I skip them first. The app I'm using to specifically deny and grant 3g as well as wifi networking is called DroidWall at version 1.5.7. I denied every system app, but got absolutely no internet access with my device as a result. So I started to allow the first orig. app to go into the internet, then one more and so on until all had network access again. The miseree was, that I still got no network connection until I discovered the bad guy. Firefox needed access. And then it worked again. But I don't use Firefox anymore but Dolphin instead, so I decided to uninstall Firefox. The bad thing is the miseree striked again. No network acces while denied pre-installed apps.
My Question now is, which applications are necessary for internet access?
Thanks in advance!
And please excuse any language mistakes, english isn't my native language.
I primarily rooted my phone to block ads. I am a long time user of AdFree, however, that app is no longer supported. I am curious what ad blocker does the community prefer. Google-ing options, it seems there is AdAway and AdBlock Plus. Are these good options, or are there others that are better? Also, with a systemless root, is it safe to manually change out the \system\etc\hosts file?

Adaway is the best :good:
I have been using Adaway for 3 years and it has worked great. A couple months ago I also added Adblock Plus.

Why do you need both? Don't they both do the same?
i use adgaurd from many days its creates VPN and lets us browse through it .. better dont use any kind of vpn when you are doing any money transactions
Adaway is good, but use Firefox (with ABP), uc, Yolo, Yu etc. Browsers as ADAWAY doesn't work good with browsers without inbuilt adblock features
adaway works via host file (you don't even have to keep the app open). It blocks every ad in every app installed on the phone
Hey, I am currently searching for an app that can completely block the access to the internet (and maybe other permissions) for specific apps.
For a while now I have been using the original XPrivacy to block apps from accessing the internet (+other permissions) for many apps. I have been on Android 5 for a while now but now I am considering to switch to another ROM that is on Android 10 or higher.
I have already looked at XPrivacyLua, but it won't work for me, because it's not possible to restrict access to as many and detailed permissions as in the original XPrivacy, e.g: not possible to restrict internet access...
Apps the use the VPN connection to block the access won't work for me, because I use a VPN sometimes.
The only alternative and solution I have currently found is to use Permission Manager X and AFWall+
But sometimes Permission Manager X just resets the rules and won't apply them and with AFWall+ you need to select every connection type everytime, which is tedious
TLDR: Searching for apps like the original XPrivacy but for Android 10 or higher
Hey, How to disable data / internet / wifi into app?
I want to disable ads in app.
In another device, I can disable access data / internet in every app.
How to in pixel 3a?
You need to root your phone, then
- install adaway to disable ads
- install afwall+ to control internet access per app
NetGuard - no-root firewall - Apps on Google Play
A simple way to block access to the internet per application
play.google.com
This app doesn't require root to block internet access on a per app basis. In the app description, there is also the source code in case you want to make sure there isn't any malicious code.
