Enabling Hidden Features - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S6

I did not see this here and just came across this on xda and wanted to share it with the Verizon group.
****This is not my work, just sharing.*****(from here)
To enable these you will need root, a root explorer and text editor.
Simply navigate to system/csc/Features.xml and add the corresponding line to the end of the file but before the very last few lines that say </feature> and </Samsung>
(if this file does not exist, create the csc folder in system and a txt file within it then change the name to features.xml and add the correct lines and save) if this does not work you can try the same method with Others.XML in the same folder
*Make sure you make backups of the stock files in case there are issues.*

I also just tried these from this post, i included my feature file. You could just rename yours and use this one..... if you want to.

Thanks, will use these later.

Did anyone verify that WiFi Calling is functioning?
Not sure if Verizon has that feature turned ON on the network side.

Doesn't work. It enables a box that you can check WiFi calling but it does nothing. Heard later this year they may implement it.

Thanks, I just found the 'Avabox v2' tool which I am looking into right now. I will try the APK tool if I have no succes. The proccess I'm going through right now is pretty hard, I have to find the original file, and compare it with my file which has been changed with the 270 degree rotation mod already, and when I am done I have to insert the code into our framework.jar
Being impatient as I am, I'm giving the files from the Fast-Light-Rom v2a a shot, since they look pretty unchanged. I'll report back wether I have succes of failure!
I'm very intrested in ths hack, if you need help, please ask me via pm I'll help you if I can ^_^ (I'm not an advanced developer) and I'll be happy to test and troubleshoot!
Alright, I have attached the modded framework.jar. I assume you know how to replace the current file and if anything goes wrong restore it? If you do, would you please be so kind to test it for me? Since if I have to do it myself, I'll first have to install Ubuntu, go trough some crap taking 30 minutes, compile a system.img for the android emulator and finally check if the file crashes settings.apk or not. I won't even be able to try if the rotating works!
Which I am doing anyway.. downloading Ubuntu 9.04 (10.04 has Wifi issues for me) right now
I'll test it

Thanks a bunch, I'm confused if this will work or not, maybe I still need to add an entry in the settings.apk to enable it, maybe it will enable by itself.
Hoping to hear from you!
I'm sorry, but it's 01:30 where I live right now and I realy need some sleep

[CSC features] Enable secret CSC features

Hello. Just letting you guys know that CSC features work in the Galaxy S4 aswell. Here is the link to the original thread. Credits goes to original user that discovered this.
You will have to edit the others.xml file located at /system/csc/.
Obviously, to achieve this you will have to be rooted
Here is an example of a code (that I know first hand works)
Add shutter sound on/off menu to stock camera app
Code:
<CscFeature_Camera_ShutterSoundMenu>true</CscFeature_Camera_ShutterSoundMenu>
Some other codes work aswell (Like exit on browser, rotation icon on gallery, etc) and some others will not work (due to new software in latest Samsung devices). But there is no harm on trying it!.
Be careful though. Misediting of the file could potentially make your device not boot, thus you having to reflash with Odin (flash the csc only, it whouls boot again without loosing any data).
This app works aswell in our device. It is an easier and safer method to use, please go and thank the original creator ( @MU24R ) in its original thread.
Have fun!
Thanks for this! Shutter sound alone was annoying me, installed the .apk you linked, enabled the shutter sound toggle, rebooted and now it's disabled. One less gripe!

[Root] Enable hidden CSC features. - UPDATE: Disable camera shutter sound

In my Note 2 i use this thread (Thx to kkoolpatz ) findings:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2033894 and some of them are working for our phones.
You must be rooted and edit /system/csc/others.xml. Try to preserve the file permissions, 644.
Don't modify anything else, just add them in the <featureset> tag.
Add exit menu entry to the stock browser
Code:
<CscFeature_Web_AddOptionToTerminate>true</CscFeature_Web_AddOptionToTerminate>
Browser requests "Desktop site" by default
Code:
<CscFeature_Web_EnableDesktopSiteAsDefault>true</CscFeature_Web_EnableDesktopSiteAsDefault>
Show user agent in Internet/Settings/Advanced
Code:
<CscFeature_Web_ShowVersionInSetting>true</CscFeature_Web_ShowVersionInSetting>
Camera shutter sound
Code:

Enable sub Symbols on Stock Samsung keyboard (Ex: English US and Romanian, for other contry codes see below)
Code:

If you find something else just post it here and i will add them to the list.
If it is working for you just say thanks.
I have attached my other.xml zip archive.
Also this app from Note2 forums might work, i have not tested it because it could mess thing up until it is updated.

I can't attach other.xml from Tapatalk so i will paste it here of an example purpose.

Got the same phone as you and have that issue too.
Same issue, it won't let me set the shutter off.
Have the same issue on my end, Aussie Vodafone Branded Firmware
I disabled that sound in Wanam Exposed. but sometimes it's still happened

Shutter sound option is missing in my Note 3 (9005, not from carrier), but shutter sound is automatically suppressed when I set my phone to Silent mode.
I posted a fix for the camera shutter sound problem in the QA, Help and Troubleshooting section. I tried everything under the sun and this was the only thing that worked. Give it a try.

Shutter sound option finally appear after i replace others.xml with one from this forum.

Turn down volume?
I am not sure why we need this mod. I turned my volume down to zero and all sounds including the camera shutter where muted. Unless I am missing something here?

We need this mod because turning down the volume doesn't mute the camera for Aussie Note 3s. Some other regions are also reporting the same. Great that it works for you mate but not all of is are so fortunate
For me the most important mods are the exit button from browser and the symbols on the keyboard

Ah.. sorry I guess it must be against some sort of privacy law in Australia.
What about just removing the relevant sound file from /system/media/UI ? It's what I have done in the past. Or are you saying you would like the option to have the sound available if you need it?

Samsung’s firmware for its Android devices have several components and CSC is one of them. The term is an abbreviated form of Consumer Software Customization and denotes to a specific geographical region or carrier branding. While most features of a specific Galaxy device are common globally, there are a bunch of other features that may or not be available to the end users in a particular country and region.
Every Android device from Samsung has a folder called csc under system directory. This folder contains some XML files that keep the configuration codes for country and carrier based customization options. If you have root access on your Samsung phone or tablet, you can access this directory and edit those XML file to enable or disable the features that are available or unavailable on your device. In other words, by editing the XML files present in the csc folder, you can easily personalize your device by adding features like your native language pack, screen rotation control, infinite scrolling on home screen, turn on/off camera shutter sound and so on.
To be able to enable or disable a CSC governed feature on your Samsung Galaxy device, you need to edit the corresponding lines for a feature or add code yourself. To make this task easier for aspiring users, XDA member @kkoolpatz has compiled some codes that can be added to your device using a root file browser. And, you can access the system files and modify them only if you have root permission on your Android device. If you have not yet rooted your Samsung Galaxy phone or tablet, you can do it now by following our easy and step-by-step tutorial:
Root Samsung Galaxy S2
Root Samsung Galaxy S3
Root Samsung Galaxy S4
Root Samsung Galaxy Note
Root Samsung Galaxy Note 2
Root Samsung Galaxy Note 3
Enabling Secret CSC Features
So, if you have root access on your device and have installed a root browser app on it too, here is what you have to do to enable CSC features.
Launch the root file manager app and grant it root permission when prompted.
Go to system> csc directory on your device and look for a file named feature.xml. If you do not find this file, look for others.xml.galaxy-s4-csc-features
Now tap on feature/others.xml and find <FeatureSet>.
<FeatureSet>
<!-- This is a comment. You may write anything between these tags -->
</FeatureSet>
Click to collapse
Make sure to add your CSC feature comment line (you can find some of them below) between <FeatureSet> and </FeatureSet> otherwise it would not work.
After adding/editing the lines, save your changes.
Finally reboot your device for the changes to take effect.

[App][4.4+]Screen rotation manager

I wrote a small accessibility service, which remembers screen auto-rotation setting per application.
The application is mostly configuration-less.
Required permissions:
BIND_ACCESSIBILITY_SERVICE - to receive AccessibilityEvent.TYPE_WINDOW_STATE_CHANGED
WRITE_SETTINGS - in order to read and write Settings.System.ACCELEROMETER_ROTATION
To do:
* Maybe set launcher rotation setting as default.
How to install:
1) Install the APK.
2) Go to Settings -> Accessibility
3) Enable "Rotation Auto Lock" service
How to remove:
1) Go to Settings -> Applications
2) Choose "Rotation Manager"
2) Click "Uninstall" button.
Version 1.6
---------------
Added a Facebook hack:
Rotation is disabled, but is enabled while in fullscreen mode. For example, while watching a video.
This can be disabled in settings.
Download link:
https://github.com/grayswander/Simp...lob/master/app/SimpleRotationManager_v1.6.apk
I'll be glad for any comments and/or suggestions.
Update:
Changed application name to Simple Rotation Manager to differentiate with existing Rotation Manager.
Added basic configurations:
* Default rotation settings
* Disable notifications.
Can not post links here. I need at least 7 more posts.
tnx..
Well, it seems I've managed to make it work in Android 6. At least it works in simulator. I would be glad for real hardware tests.
I still can't publish the APK.

Hello!
A couple of stupid questions:
What is the OS version?
Have you disabled notifications in Settings?
Which notifications are still showing: rotation enabled/disabled or permissions related?
And a simple suggestion to try to disable and re-enable the service.
Good luck!
