phantom works with SEMC music player, now? i've tryed it a while ago and it was very buggy.
you can use milocker, golocker, or widgetlocker
the default music player widget isn't compatible with widgetlocker. Never tested the other options.
if only some dev could make it work...

Try using the new Musik player! I found it over at the donut ics rom! Download DonutICS.zip it is a flashable zip.. It is a theme for stock 2.3.3...
Now either flash the zip, if you like it of course, or extract the zip and take the new semcmusic.apk
Change permissions and paste/overwrite it into system/app
Tested with widgetlocker and works ;-)
An other good music app is ubermusic.. It has widgets too but you have to pay for it

The 4.4 API added a new class that allows access to metatada from any music player. This did not exist before. There are hidden APIs prior to 4.4, but they are very hit or miss and most of the time artwork can't be retrieved.

New update
Hi guys,
Just pushed an update up with the following changes:
Version 1.1
-Fixed artwork issues with all major players
-Added clock and setting to turn clock on or off
-Added pause indicator and setting to turn it on or off
-Added setting to select variable opacity
-Added setting to select action for play/pause (tap or long-press)
-Battery optimization
We are working very hard on an elegant solution to automatically start the music player of your choice. That feature is coming very soon. As always, your feedback is appreciated and we will do our best to incorporate any features you want.
Good looking app, just one suggestion/request. Not sure if it's possible but the option to like or dislike a song (Google Play Music) would be nice.
Where is app?
For the life of me I cant seem to find this app in the play store. What exactly is it called?

Original Smartwatch
Hi rahilm!
Is it possible to make it compatible with the first sony smartwatch? The official Music Player extension doesn't work well with it, on Android 4.4 or its related to the outdated app. It starts or stops the music randomly when you wake up the watch. And it seems to take forever to load the app on the watch, the screen goes black when you open it and loads 10-20 seconds later.
If I am wrong and someone allready found a solution, fix to make the official app working with Google Play Music on Kit Kat please correct me and let me know.
Thanks in advance! Keep up the good work!

Hi,
We will look into it. The resolution is significantly worse on the original SmartWatch, so we are not sure how the UI will suffer.
Thanks for your great work. Is it planned to make it possible to switch betwen Albums?

Do you mean playlist switch and stuff like that? Unfortunately, that is too player specific and we want to support as many players as possible. Thanks for the suggestion, though.
As an update, we are still working on a solution for opening the music player. It is proving difficult with what is allowed by Android APIs, but we are still working diligently toward it.
Hi there,
I don't like to use the stock music player. I want to use Spotify only.
If the music is playing and the device is locked, I push the power button und get the lock screen, with the music controls in the upper area. If I hit "pause", the fun begins: Spotify stops playing and the stock music app starts playing. This is just ridiculous.
I tried to set Spotify as default music player, but that doesn't change that behaviour. I installed Nova Launcher, but I cannot "disable" the stock apps as I have no root.
Are there any possibilities to disable the stock music app without root?

oh ! sorry : I read too quicly : it does require root access....
Seems not possible without root i have the same Problem with Google play music. Stock music begins to play...
Think positively that the default player comes with many free music.
But its not possible to control the music through lock screen. Thats a big gap
I am having this same issue. Stock lock screen seems to have media controls permanently locked to stock music player. The most infuriating thing is the artwork and everything is displayed as you would expect, but as soon as you touch a media control it activates stock music app.
What a pain in the arse bug Hauwei. how did you screw that up!?!

Have you tried changing the default music app? Settings -> Manage Apps -> Default app settings -> Music
Doesn't help me with Pocket Casts, but if Spotify shows up here you might have a solution.

You can't change the default music app to Spotify. In addition, I've already tried changing it to something other than the default music app but it still does't work.
It seems like the only way to do it is to disable the stock music app - but I don't have root
Damn, you're right. Just tried it with PowerAmp with the same result. The lock screen is even worse, overlaying the Huawei buttons (that don't work) over the PowerAmp lock screen controls. The smart cover controls serve only to stop the music, and once paused you have to unlock to play again.
This may be what pushes me to root...

Even with root you won't be able to solve the stock lockscreen music button mess ... Huawei did a lot right with the Mate 7 and with EMUI, but they also have a lot of silly bugs that can drive you crazy ...

Thanks for that. I do agree - there is a lot in EMUI that I would normally root to implement - and this is sadly something we will have to live with, for now. Thankfully Pocket Casts monitors the buttons on my Nokia Monster headphones, and that's how I pause/unpause anyway.
Does anyone know of a forum we can voice our concerns on? Perhaps a feedback mechanism that Huawei monitors...
UPDATE: I found a solution for this dilemma. You'll need root though. The music player controls in the lockscreen can actually be used to control ANY currently running music app and even show title and album cover. HOWEVER, you'll have to UNINSTALL the Huawei Music app from the system folder, which is what you need root for. Once the Huawei Music app is gone (remember: UNINSTALLED, NOT frozen), the fixed link between the lockscreen controls and the stock music player are gone.
Sweet. Gives me a good reason to root. Now to go find that thread...
[EDIT]
Damn, looks like my firmware has been updated beyond what works for a live root solution.

BL unlocking is a bit quirky, but you can always revert back to the stock BL after flashing CWM. Rooting once you have unlocked your BL is easy-peasy.
You can disable the Music app out right i do this via adb shell using the following command.
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.android.mediacenter

This can be done without root as it only uninstalls from the user not the phone so factory reset will get the app back.
Make sure you reboot after to make it take effect.
Hi everyone!
I've looked and seen that some of you had troubles with the lockscreen music control. I'm on B162 and have the same problem as you guys do; I was just wondering if this problem got solved with an update since the B162 or if you guys still have the same problem.
Thanks a lot!

Yeah but what I hate about the Stock Music App is that there is no "Genre" tab, and i'm someone that loves just selecting a genre and listen to whatever I have on my phone. Also, I'm trying Spotify Premium for three month (there was a promotion that costed me 1€ for 3 months), so I don't really use anything else.
Any other ideas?

what I ended up doing was just installing Microsoft's "Next" lockscreen app from the play store, and enabling the setting to "use password lock only".
It's a workaround, but it works well (works with fingerprint unlocking and doesnt make you have to unlock twice, usable media controls with spotify and all other media apps)
just make sure you grant it every possible permission, battery setting etc and it should work fine. its not like the huawei lockscreen was really any good anyway.
With B320 lockscreen music controls show album art from Google Play Music, in previous versions that did not work, so maybe other apps will work too.
