I've just dropped my dear Note 12.2 on the ground, and hit probably the weakest spot on side bezel or frame - the mic input.
I've been trying to find a way to replace the side bezel or frame, i don't really know how its really calledor where to find/buy.
Can anybody help me ?
Thank you for your time.

You have to be used with it as long as anything is working. The LCD and touchscreen are glue together with LOCA (Liquid optically clear adhesive) or OCA film. They glued to the frame around the edges of touchscreen. Full LCD assembly may cost around $180 to $200, you don't need to change it unless it's cracked. Separate LCD assembly from the frame may end up of damaging them if you don't have experience.

I have this phone, only used for VoIP and Dev. Galaxy Nexus.
The glass is like chipped / cracked on the top right, nothing major or problematic, about the size of the camera hole.
I was wondering if I couldn't fill that glass with transparent nail vernish or clear coat car paint, just a drop to make sure no broken glass falls or to prevent it from more cracks ... like when they repair chip on windshields ... I need something none conductive to make sure it doesn't interfer with the digitizer ...
I won't change the glass or digitizer. I would prefer this solution than putting a plastic shield.
Thanks !
So ? Is this just a really bad idea ?
I was trying to change digitizer to my tf300 by following this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3_JRLd7lPv8 .The video is really bad, considering that this guy will show you a tf300 that has been opened before or something, because its very easy for him to do certain things, that i found very hard, and had to use other techniques. For example, i had really hard time separating the old digitizer and the plastic frame. In order to separate these two parts, i used some heat blowing gun (professional one) which turned to be very effective separating the digitizer from the plastic frame, but the plastic got wraped (as you can see in pic). Also, i don't have an adhesive tape or glue in order to stick the new digitizer to the frame so i m unable to stick the new digitizer to the frame.

You used too much heat. I don't think the warped frame will fit anymore. You might need to buy a new one. You really don't need heat initially though. Since you were gonna discard the broken digitizer anyway, you should've just scraped the glass off. Use this type of adhesive to glue back.
Thanks for you info!I was thinking of puting the frame on a table, put the new digitizer to fit as much as possible, put some towel on, and then heat it again by gently pressing it with the iron.Else, where can i find a replacement part?I don't even know the name of this specific part so i can search for it.

It's the front plastic bezel. Sometimes it's available used on Ebay. Best place to inquire would be Asus Parts located somewhere in Europe. I wouldn't try what you're thinking of doing unless you can straighten it again using the broken digitizer, as the screen is extremely brittle and the slightest pressure might crack it.
Did anybody try replacing the glass screen on the LG G5? Not the whole digitizer, screen only.
Looks like replacement glass is found quite cheap.

There is a crack on my screen, the touchscreen is perfect. Is there a procedure somewhere that can be followed to get it done? I see a lot of videos for a complete teardown. But is it possible to just use a heatgun to take the glass off and put the new one in?
These display modules are oftenly replaced altoghether, because replacing only the glass requires it to be really precisely fitted and hermetically glued, you can probably try to seperate the digitizer from the display, but you may end up with a some dust underneath the glass or some unwanted gaps.

I had a crack on my screen at the top of when it fell down on concrete floor. I had to buy the whole display with glass and digitizer for about 130 euros. I did not know that you can just buy the glass and replace it with a lower price. Oh well... but if you want to separate the glass from the digitizer or anything what is glued, always use the heatgun. You can also use the hairdryer. I had to replace a battery by opening up a back cover with a hair dryer. For separating the glass from the digitizer you have to heat it up very often, pry it open and hold at several spots, to avoid breaking components. It s quite difficult but take it slowly.

So, if I crack my screen I need to get a screen replacement with frame or just screen replacement?
Screen replacement with frame

You can get without the frame, you will just need to heat up the glue between the frame and old screen to cut through the glue to remove the frame. They cover it on the instruction video on Fixez.
Hi,
So i bought a used Note pro and is rly nice but it has a damaged back Cover and bezel (the silver lining around the tablet ). I know from taking it apart that you can just swap out the hole thing. Problem is i can only find the black backcover but not the bezel. Maybe someone here has a hint where to get what i need?
EDIT: Just watched a video. It seems the pro is built differently than the 10.1 2014. They glued the screen to the bezel. That makes it near to impossible to just change the bezel. I'll have to live with a broken bezel then....

Some little superficial damage even on my used p-905. Though I paid 220 € with shipment, not disappointed. I was asking myself the same question about the bezel: thank you for saving my time! If you have like tiny scratches on the screen too consider applying official Samsung screen protector, it's perfectly trimmed and high quality (it hides moderate screen damages perfectly) and doesn't alter the feeling when drawing with pen which for me is a total must.
Hello everyone,
I recently dropped my mix and I wish to get an lcd and replace it by myself.
I just wanted to ask if you guys know if the screen is glued to the frame or just attached with some screws.
I looked in YouTube and it seems it is not glued together but the lady in the shop said they sell the screen with frame that is already glued.
And if I get the screen separated can I glue it by myself? Or I better get glued one?
Also if anyone finds a good quality replacement video I'll be happy to watch it.
Thank you in advance
Roy.
Better to get glued one, will save lot of time.
The plastic frame is glued into the side of LCD outer glass.
I'm not sure what type of glue that can be use.

So the screen is supposed to be glued to the frame? I saw some mix teardown and lcd replacement videos where the screen is not glued. You sure about that?
Yes i'm sure about it.
Just replaced the screen last week

always better to get the screen with frame. Saves time and it's very hard to find good adhesive that will work like the one factory used.
Can you just replace the outer glass and not the whole lcd? just dropped my phone and now there's a huge scratch on the screen. The lcd and frame are good but there's a huge scratch on the screen which is annoying to me.
